62 years old and just had my eye lenses replaced (CLR) by Dr Konkel at the Eye Associates. It is just fantastic (a modern miracle). Dr Konkel was punctual, caring, knowledgeable, understanding and best of all gave me my sight back!! I can now see without glasses up close and to infinity. read more

Im not the patient, Im their driver, The patient would never say anything about the rudeness. Location was the Bee Ridge location. They had an apporintment for 10am, was there at 0955. Signed in and waited, and waited, and waited. Saw the waiting rom clear out several times. 1030, 1045,1100, 1110, 1120 1140, 1141 he was brought back for the injection which took about 3 minutes. We saw and heard the employees getting their lunch strategy together. Would be nice if they paid as much attention to the patients AND THEIR FAMILIES as their salad dressing. The treatement is a every straight forward injection, Sometimes they dialate, sometimes they dont. There is 0 reason the wait is 1hr and 40minutes. Not once was there any update or expected time for this to be done. The patient didnt want me to go to the desk,ask anything or bring this up at all. Did one of the millionairs forget that they had a patient to see? Did the staff need the room for their lunch? I would like to see a doctor wait 1hr 40min without the courtesy of even one update. read more

My mom had an appointment today with Dr. Byung-Joon Ahn. She showed up on time, they took her in to prep her for her eye treatment. Then, a nurse comes in and tells the other nurse to stop everything as Dr. Byung-Joon Ahn was not going to be able to see my mom. My Dad took off early from work to drive my mom to her appointment. This was the first time my mom was going meet this doctor. The doctor or office should of had the courtesy to call and reschedule the appointment and not waste people's time and money. Very unprofessional! Staff was not able to provide a reason as to why she was not able to be seen. Saving you time as time is money select a different doctor. ​ read more

I had a doctor in Sarasota but they closed and joined Quigley. I went there for a while then they closed and I had to go to Venice. While using them a prescription never got called in to the pharmacy and all I could tell on the phone was someone at a call center who was no help. When I went back to the doctor in Venice he agreed they have gotten wat too big to handle their clients properly. The secretary there gave me her personal office number if I had anymore issues because she too felt the company was now too big to handle the patients properly. Then Venice closed down and I had to travel an hour to Port Charloette (although I see there are many Eye Associates closer to me but they never said). I went to Port Charloette for a while. I recently made two separate appointments with them on two separate phone calls. Today, when I arrived they told me they no longer accepted my insurance. I said when I made these appointments they take all my info over and over and no one saw they dropped my insurance? They let me drive an hour to tell me. I asked for a manager or supervisor to call me. No phone call. They are way too big now to treat their own patients with care and concern. I have had my insurance dropped before as it is not local but that office called me to inform me. I would never recommend this place. Even when you get in the place it is like an assembly line. I would not even give this company a one star. I've been to the one in Venice and now to the one in Bradington. I had a 330 appointment and at 5 o'clock I still wasn't seen. When I asked about my appointment they told me that I was told that we can expect at least a two hour wait. I called BS. That was never stated and why are you making your customers wait at least two hours? As a customer my time is worth just as much if not more than yours. Honestly, seeing the yelp reviews, I was apprehensive about getting an eye exam for an updated prescription, but with my insurance there would only be a $10 copay so i took a chance. I'm so glad I did. Have their own parking lot, clean and well-lit offices. I was greeted upon arrival for insurance info. Took less than 5 minutes to get in. Carla did a thorough exam on several machines. Last step was seeing the Dr who answered all my questions. Got my prescription and then went out and looked at and will buy some sunglasses. Also, with respect to some of the other reviews, at least 3 people throughout the process told me that if the exam found a medical problem, they would be billing my health insurance rather than my vision insurance.Fortunately, nothing was wrong, so I didn't have that problem, but they were very clear about that. Everyone was warm, kind and happy to answer questions. For once, I'm glad I ignored the Yelp reviews and made up my own mind! read more

I spent 2.5 hours at one the BeeRidge location and now they want me to see 2 other doctor's at different locations, just to make sure. Why 3 doctor's to be able to tell me if there is a problem? I consulted a Doctor in this group practice and while I found the office staff and the optician who does the eye test very helpful and kind, the Ophthalmologist I was assigned was a different matter. My reason for visiting was floaters and dry eye. During his examination he was offhand and rude suggesting the problem was either in my mind or because I was old. He did confirm later I floaters. I will never return there and advise people not to. read more

We won't be going back. They called to confirm our appointment on a Sat. We proceeded to check in online and found there were fees for tests that are not optional. We tried to inquire but no one can answer questions on the weekend, so why contact us on a Sat? The system is designed to aggravate. By Monday we were too close to out appointment to cancel without paying for the appointment...no idea why we were not told this upfront. We went to the appointment, turns out the test in question was covered by our insurance and they just send a blanket message regardless if it's an issue for you. I'm sorry but this sort of thing should have been disclosed and taken care of when the appointment is made, not given as notice or in our case misinformation right before the test. My partner and I both have out exam and took the required test, the required test fits one accurately for glasses however we both have 20/20 vision which begs the question why did we need to take this test? It's not as if getting glasses will benefit either of us. I'd have no problems taking this test IF I needed glasses, as is, it's just a way to squeak more money out of you. The doctor was pleasant but don't like how they do business so we will not be going back. Also the drops they give to dilate your eyes was way too strong and/or the gal gave way too much. I've had this test done numerous times over the years and have never before gotten nauseous from the drops and had a hard time keeping my eye lids open. read more

We ran a legit business and have been here 30yrs a our customers come first we always make it right that's why our customers put us on google. Since my last post I found out that 4 of my close neighbors have the same issue has mine & over 25 of our customers eye associates ruined their eyes 2 are suing and were left blind. Please please people before u go ask relatives & friends and they will tell you the same. They will lye, not trust worthy& just take your money with a million excuses!!! I have prove, recorded one of the doctors telling me that my eyes were worse and blurred vision after the fact I pay $4000 out of pocket for upgrade for perfect vision. Please please DO NOT trust them if they cannot even give me a straight answer. Please DO NOT make the same mistake I made and many many others have made. The only response I got from the owner that for me to get a better fit. They will dismiss you and take your money and more money with no remorse. read more

CHECK YOUR BILLING against your claims summary. On my recent visit I was advised I would have to pay an additional amount of $58. After receiving my insurance summary I noticed they had also billed the insurance company that amount. That was denied with the note "MEMBER NOT RESPONSIBLE". I wrote them and hand delivered a letter three weeks ago requesting an explanation/refund and have received no response. I am sending a second request before escalating the situation. I would CAUTION all patients to REVIEW all charges outside your deductible/co-pay. read more

I'm adding to my original review, below. I went to see Drs. McCabe and Long for a mysterious eye condition at the Eye Associates in Sarasota, Florida. Doctors are supposed to do no harm, yet they felt justified to completely dismiss me in the beginning. Instead of taking action right away, they blew me off, told me I had a floater and sent me home. I sustained even more damage to my eyesight during that time. They ruined my life and by the time I found out about the extent to which they dismissed me and my condition, it was too late to even take action against them. DO NOT GO TO THESE DOCTORS! I can't believe the negative posts are about the same doctors (The Eye Associates) who have treated me for over 5 years. Dr. Hector has been my personal ophthalmologist; and he is very compassionate, friendly and competent. Dr. Foster performed cataract surgery for me over two years ago with outstanding results. They are readily available for emergencies - saw me on a Sunday afternoon about a year ago. Friendly and professional staff. I HIGHLY recommend The Eye Associates! read more

They need to cross train staff to help when picking up only. The wait was about an hour because it takes time helping out people that are picking out glasses and frames. While waiting another staff member spent 45 minutes chatting loudly in the waiting area with friends she hadn't seen for a long time. Hideous time management. Had a 1:30p appointment and showed up at 1:09p. At 1:45p asked what was going on and 10 minutes later Liz said it would be at least 15 more minutes. I went in there (east Bradenton on US 70) on a Friday end of day. I did not have an appointment; a co-worker recommended them. The office was clean and I was treated by a courteous & wonderful staff. It was a relaxed atmosphere and my wait was short. Around both eyes was a mess due to an allergic reaction to a new essential oil blend I had tried around my eyes; was supposed to, over time, improve vision. Instead, both eyes developed a horrible red rash around them (my fault regretfully for not diluting it). Dr. Camp saw me and I was very pleased with his manner and the treatment. I'm not big on pharmaceuticals, however, the ointment prescribed cleared up my problem pretty quickly and my eyes were back to normal in just a few days. Very pleased with this office. It would have been a miserable weekend if they had not taken care of me at the end of a Friday. read more

Theses Doctor only know what they have been taught, they don't have a big sens of emergency if complications arise after a cataract surgery and they don't want to perform a retinal detachment surgery because they falsely claim that they don't have the hospital setting that is the same equipment as for retinal detachment. So because it is a dice game having a cataract surgery done with them and sometime they even charge the patient for a follow up appointment that should be FREE for the next 90 days. So they don't offer a complete eye service and do not care too much if complications happen after a cataract surgery and won't tell you that if you see blur or a black spot that is a retina detachment that need immediate surgery. Floaters means high pressure in the eyeball and need immediate Dorzolamide HCI prescription $28/bottle drops to reduce the pressure (not Alphagan $170/bottle).. Go to the Retina Center in Bradenton if you ever get a complication but they don't do glaucoma surgery. BE ADVISED ! read more
