Crying over a Hoover is at best pointless, at worst pathetic. It points to a worrying lack of…read moreperspective and asks questions around priorities. On the grand scale of real-life crises, Hoovers just don't feature, not even in a distant runner-up position. So I'm not proud to admit it but won't deny it: when my lovely old Miele slowly wheezed its way to an early grave, it proved the final straw in a litany of domestic failings (the marriage thankfully not one of them, yet) that had occurred that month - the oven, Easter Saturday, the day before seven people were due for Sunday lunch; the car, after too many weeks of that metal-on-metal sound that even the hard-core of stuff-mechanical procrastinators could no longer ignore; the bathroom tap; that effing leak in the extension roof that just won't seem to go away by itself - and I sat right down and cried myself a river. And it's not even like there hadn't been signs. It had been in failing health for months and hadn't received anything but the most cursory of nursing care, from the basic vital-signs manual: the on-off/check the bag/check for obstruction approach, followed by fervent verbal entreaties to just for chrissake finish the job one more time. The bank balance didn't even want to broach the possibility of a new Hoover, and it never occurred to me at first that a repair job was an option in an age of update, upgrade, replace. But bless them to the core of their electrical being, Glasnevin Appliances lives, and were as unfazed by my broken Hoover as a long-in-the-tooth A&E nurse negotiating a drunken waiting room. One health check and phone-call update later, and a treatment plan was outlined involving a pretty reasonable financial outlay and an as-good-as-new Hoover ready for collection one day later. So why not five stars? A small thing. In my book, a customer in front of you takes precedence over one on the phone, when you've already begun dealing with the customer in the shop. It's what the phrase 'Please hold' was invented for, but this is rarely observed in businesses, as phone-call diversion takes precedence over the standing customer almost always. It's a tad annoying. But on the grand scale, I highly recommend trying the repair avenue before consigning another electrical implement to the rubbish heap, and these guys are up to the job.

I used Cleaning Angel to clean 2 dresses that I wore to my wedding. While the first dress came back…read morefine, the second dress had fringe around the bottom hem and it was completely ruined. The fringe was tangled and knotted, and the threads and ends were all frayed. Not only that, but they returned the dress and said absolutely nothing about the damage. It was only when I took the dress out of the cleaning bag weeks later on Saturday Dec 3rd that I saw the fringe was ruined. I called them immediately that day and spoke to the owner Fidelma. I sent photos over text and she told me she'd come back to me on Monday with an update, as it was Saturday so there were no cleaners in the shop. I had to follow up myself on Monday afternoon to get an update, and they arranged to pick up the dress on Wednesday. I had to follow up myself once again the following Saturday, as I had heard nothing back. Throughout the whole process I found their lack of care in following up on such a serious issue extremely disappointing - they had ruined a dress that had a lot of sentimental value but showed no proactivty in giving me any updates and never provided an explanation as to why they attempted to return the damaged dress without admitting the damage. They claimed that there was no care label on the dress so they were unsure of how to clean it correctly, and dry cleaned it. I was never informed that this was an issue, was not asked if I had care information for the dress and was not told that there was any risk to cleaning the dress. They charged me the full price for cleaning the dress and never informed of any issues or damage. Their cleaners attempted to fix the fringe and they returned the dress on Thursday 15th Dec. The fringe was still frayed and the dress wasn't wearable. They offered to replace the fringe, but said it could take weeks to source. I had absolutely no confidence in them replacing the fringe given the amount of damage that had been caused already and the lack of customer service and follow up to my original complaint. I sent a message to the owner Fidlema on Monday Dec 19th and said I'd like a refund for the value of the dress, as they'd been unable to provide an adequate repair after ruining it. Since then, I've heard nothing back and have no contact from them. It is incredibly disappointing that a business that claims to professionally clean wedding dresses would ruin a dress, return it with significant damage and not inform the customer, and simply stop responding when the issue wasn't resolved. They are clearly not offering the service they claim to specialise in, and are unwilling to provide a proper response when they damage items.

Brilliant service with great prices. I had a huge black ink stain on the back of my denim jacket…read moreand was told when I left it in that the stain may not fully come out as ink is hard to remove. Picked it up 3 days later and the stain is completely gone the jacket is like brand new! Delighted!
