He was so good that, after a few projects, I'd just call him and tell him what I needed and what room it was for and he'd take it from there. When I learned that John had passed away unexpectedly, I knew Charlottesville had lost a true artisan and friend. What I didn't know was that his son Billy is every bit as good (if not a wee bit better). Same great spirit, same great work, and a pure delight to be around.
