I work for a small organization that needed trophies for a professional conference, so I decided to order from International Trophies, a small and local shop in Silver Spring, Maryland. International Trophies fails on all fronts: customer service, cleanliness, valuing your time, and communication. Firstly, the store is completely unpresentable. It is in disarray, with boxes littering the floor and no presentation room to browse their inventory of trophies. This store's employees lure you in under the guise of being master engravers and trophy creators, but they lack the customer service skills to deliver the goods ordered. Eric, the manager, is a terrible salesperson and should be avoided. After expressing interest in trophies through my company, he often called my personal line, harassing me and demanding payment for the trophies I was interested in. (I should've canceled the order here, but I was in a crunch) After I placed an order worth over $1,000, it became impossible to get in contact with anyone at International Trophies. The store is not open during its listed hours, and employees often lie about their availability. I had to call multiple times to get any updates on the delivery of my trophies. They do not respond to emails, rarely take calls, and are not consistently open. Working with International Trophies means calling every hour, hoping your trophies will arrive on time, only to be met with silence. Do not work with this store if you care about timeliness and communication from a vendor.

My fiance and I came to Chris' jeweler workshop in early August for the weekend wedding ring…read moreexperience. Chris had invited Eric, a kind friend of his, to help us with the process. They were both incredibly helpful and let us do the majority of the work! I had the tri-color ring, comprised of 3 separately-made rings of 14K yellow, rose, and white gold, while my fiancé chose a much simpler single 14K white gold band. My fiancé was to make a total of 3 rings before they cut them back open and connected them in such a way that they, quite literally, ROLLED over each other when gliding onto my finger. He had so much fun perfecting his skills and getting three tries to get comfortable with the whole process! With almost 2x the extra work, it was very efficient to have Chris helping him with the tri-color ring, while Eric helped me make the thick white gold band. I have been in absolute awe by the beauty, yet simplicity, of the tri-ring, along with the elegance and thickness of the white gold band. They are beautifully crafted and polished. It's amazing to think that we started with 4 bars of gold and ended with polished, shining rings in about 8 hours. Chris and Eric were both super supportive and encouraging; They had a lot of patience and allowed us to carry out steps for as long or little as we wanted, while coming in when guidance or direction was needed (or when our fingers got too tired). The atmosphere was great, very calm, comfortable, and fun. We joked a lot and engaged in conversation. We were treated to a nice lunch at a local deli across the street and overall, felt like the flow of everything was great. We are very happy with our rings, especially since we now have photos and memories of making them together. A big thank you to both Chris and Eric!

He's great fun to talk to and has had a lifetime of interesting experiences. Chris is an excellent teacher! My fiancee and I had zero experience working with open flames, torches, metals, and whatnot but felt very comfortable in Chris's workshop. He walked us through each step and made us feel completely comfortable with what was happening. Chris took the time to talk to us and understand what it was we wanted - and we ended up with exactly that. It's crazy. We made each others' rings, and I'll think about that fun day every time I put my ring on. Highly, highly recommend.

I felt like I was bothering him when I asked questions about the different brands they offered, but the other guy working there was pleasant and helpful. They charged $250 for both pictures, and I left. When I picked them up, one picture was great, but the other picture had the mat on backwards. The beveled edge sloped the wrong way so that where the picture ends and the mat begins, there was a sharp point sticking out that you could slide your fingernail under. I didn't notice in the store but called them when I got home and the quiet employee answered the phone. He said that all large pictures are mounted that way because it was the only way the machine could cut a mat that size. He asked "Don't you like the 3D look?" since the picture looked like it was recessed further than usual. This was all a cover up for a sloppy job since the only issue was that the wrong side of the cut mat was glued to the picture and dry mount board. Instead of apologizing, he blamed me for not liking his work. I took it back the next day to have them fix it, and the helpful employee was at the desk. He apologized and said they would fix it free of charge. When I picked it up a week later, the mat's orientation was correct, but it had ragged edges around the opening of the picture, and it was not adhered to the foam board. I posted pictures of the mat and backing separation, and ragged edges examples. I will definitely not be returning to this store. I've learned my lesson.

He helped me choose a frame style that really complemented the art work and was very professional in working up a price quote. The quality of the work was also top notch. We had a tough task for us: we had to print a very large poster for a presentation, 48" x 72", and…read morethe poster contained a lot of information including color, graphics and photos. It needed to look great! When we were ready to print the PowerPoint/PDF from file to the large poster, we found Brickwall Printing, called the shop and Richalina walked us through the steps to help ensure we got an excellent looking poster (without pixelation and with great color and fidelity) produced on foam-board. The results of the printing performed by the team at Brickwall came out wonderful! However, after we completed the order, travel plans to Upstate New York changed and we would not have a car available to transport this immense poster. It had to be taken on the train, and carrying the poster as-is was out of the question. So we went into the Chantilly shop and met with Richalina to discuss options. We needed cost effective options since we were not being subsidized for this work. Richalina listened to our concerns and offered options, including taking the already completed poster on foam-board and turning it into a trifold poster which could be folded into a much more manageable size for transport on a train. The result was beautiful and perfect! Working with Richalina and Brickwall was a great experience: they are professional, personable, and we felt they cared for us as a customer. This poster might be a relatively easy item for Brickwall to produce, but it is a VERY BIG DEAL FOR LITTLE OLD US!!! We highly recommend Brickwall Printing!!!
