Left my truck with them for them to look at a coolant leak in my heater core, which they had replaced previously. They had my car for a month without any communication. I had to contact them. In the end they said they couldn't find the receipt of there previously changing the heater core. And I was out of luck. Brought my car in around 8am the other day because it kept stalling every-time I braked for too long and I had a flat tire on top of that. I felt so unsafe in my car, it made sputtering noises, stalled, and just all around gave me so much anxiety when driving because it was so unpredictable. They were quick to get the car in, and maybe about noon they gave us a call and let us know what they found out, and how much it would cost to fix it, so we went through with the repairs, and probably around 4:00pm they called us back to come get my car. REASONABLE PRICES, FRIENDLY SERVICE, AND FANTASTIC WORK. They patched my tire for me, and got the sensor that was having issues replaced, and immediately driving home in my car I already could hear and feel the difference in my car. So grateful for the service and how fast they were able to get it in finished by the end of the day. Definitely not going anywhere else for my car now. read more

My check engine light went on when I was on the freeway. I pulled over and searched for a repair shop. I saw that the Engine Room was close so I called and spoke to Abel. He assured me he could help so I proceeded slowly to drive there. With less than a mile to go, my car started to smoke and I had to stop. I called back and spoke to Abel who said he could send someone to help me. Chino arrives who was amazing! He filled my radiator with water and I was able to drive to their shop. I needed a new radiator so he said I could leave it with them for the weekend and pick it up on Monday. The service was EXCELLENT, friendly, helpful and they seriously saved me!! This is the best place to get your car repaired in the Pomona/Laverne Area. My daughter, a University of Laverne alum, drove all the way from UCLA to have Ryan and the team change the oil and diagnose a check engine light. We had an oil leak in our Ford F-150 and based on the reviews here we took our truck to the Engine Room. Ryan, the owner, was very cordial and assured us that he would fix the leak. After spending $1230 and three return visits we still have an oil leak. Very frustrated and disappointed in their work. We do not recommend The Engine arm on Arrow Highway in La Verne. read more

I'll try and make a long story short.  My 20 year old Ford Ranger wouldn't start so I had it towed to a shop that has done some great work for me in the past but their specialty was foreign and this issue was out of their comfort zone since this wasn't a battery, starter or alternator issue. They referred me to another shop in the complex who had it for 3 weeks.  I was initially told it needed a computer but the shop had trouble finding it so I ended up purchasing it and dropping it off.  After another week at the shop I was told they couldn't fix it.  I was then referred to Ryan at The Engine Room  by a body shop where I was getting work done on my car.  With all the headaches I was having with the truck, I decided to visit the shop and speak to Ryan in person.  I didn't want to keep towing the truck from place to place and wanted to get a good feel if this was the right shop.  My first impression of the shop was that it seemed organized and the staff friendly.  Ryan took the time to listen and at the same time was on the computer looking for possible solutions to my issues.  He shared what his game plan was which was to reinstall the original computer which I still had from the other shop and start from scratch and see what was done.  I told him I wasn't in a rush so he kept it a few weeks and we spoke in between so I knew what was going on.  I picked up the truck and there were no issues starting it.  After a few weeks, I was having another intermittent issue not related to the first one so I took it back and had Ryan look into it.  He took his time and found what seems to have been the problem as I've put on a couple hundred miles with no issues and passed the smog test.  I will be using this shop next time I have an issue.  I have no problem recommending this shop. read more

I'm a 24 year old female that knows very little about cars. Whenever I took my car in for service, whether with the dealership or to some other type of garage, I was always left feeling ignorant, bothersome, or condescended to because of my questions or the sales tactics of the mechanics. Going to the Engine Room was a completely different experience. I really needed to get an oil change and had to get one on my lunch break. This place had good reviews and wasn't too far away so I gave the Engine Room a shot. I will be coming back for any work that needs to be done on my car and will be recommending this place to the people I know. The service was fast, my questions were answered, having the service set up was like having an easy friendly conversation, and Ryan was nice and open. The price was very good and I did not walk away second guessing the bill. It wasn't so much what the Engine Room did (though it was a very professional and good service), so much as it was what they did not do. Ryan seemed like a genuinely decent human being which is comforting to someone who is constantly warned that no matter where I go I'll be taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge and until now I've always felt the need to bring someone male with me so I wasn't cheated. Ryan at the Engine Room is awesome! Finding a good mechanic and repair facility is like playing the lotto, you take your chances and hope for the best! A friend had recommended the Engine Room a couple years back. I perform my own oil changes and simple brake jobs. But when issues go beyond that I take my vehicles to a repair facility. I despise dealerships as they have to charge so much for service in order to cover their operating expenses and overhead. I had issues with two of our cars, I looked the Engine Room up on the web and gave Ryan a call. We were so impressed with the repair of our first vehicle, his communication was outstanding, he will text you with status updates so you don't have to call him, wait on hold or play phone tag. He stands behind his work, the shop is extremely organized and clean, as they take as much pride in the appearance of the business, as they do in quality of the repair services they perform. After our first experience above, the following week we took our other vehicle in for the same outstanding service and repair. Ryan is now are new mechanic, he is open, honest and trustworthy. One thing that everyone needs is a mechanic that's reasonably priced, honest and knowledgeable. My family had recently moved to La Verne. I had brought both of our cars to about 3 different mechanics who each pushed unnecessary services on me (ie. $85 cabin filter replacement). Finally, I found the Engine Room, and brought my car in for a part replacement. They did it at a great price, quickly, and were very professional overall.
