Before leaving town decided to see what metaphysical stores were in the area. This was second on the list. I stopped in to pick a few crystals. I did find one that I had just heard about as well as some favorites that I always get. The sore did have a bit of a smell to it but not off putting. I noticed someone else had mentioned that the store smelled like raw fish or something but it was a mild smell. Also it was a rainy day so it could have been anything. I liked that they leave you alone to shop. So many different offerings and the store didnt feel overwhelmingor cluttered. read more

Yes it's a little out of the ordinary. In other words there is no slick marketing thing going on, so go prepared and have a great time seeing things you may never have seen before. This store is the real deal when it comes to all things of stones and crystals of all types. They really know their stuff. They have TONS of inventory. Every type of stone you can imagine is piled in containers on many tables through out the space. I love that they have both polished inventory, and some un polished inventory as well. They also have an incredible inventory of large beautiful stones and crystals. My 11 year old son was especially excited to find a bin full of shards from meteorites. He still gets super excited about how he now owns a rock from space. :) read more

I was in the rock shop a few years ago. Since then I read reviews about the man behind the counter who was unfriendly and not helpful to costumers. Also read reviews of how he was helpful with his knowledge of rocks. So maybe he has two faces. when I was there a few years ago he slept in his chair behind the counter the whole time. I had questions but was afraid to wake him up. When I went to pay for my purchase, he finally woke up. Very cranky. So I was surprised at his unprofessional behavior. This is a cluttery little store with every crystal you could imagine. The owner will help you find anything. You will write down your rock names and the prices of them, then when you check out he will make his own list and both times I've been there he has charged me $10 less than I think I owe. If you call him on the prices, he just waves you off. The order of the store is sort of: big rocks, medium rocks, large rocks. As a librarian, I'd like to have some sort of alphabetical order. But it's also very fun to just browse and come across things. He has some very large crystals, lots of raw stones, then he has some stones that are in necklaces and other jewelry. He has a small area of books in the front. I bought blue kyanite from here which I put in my 16 year old daughter's hands when her anxiety builds and it almost instantly calms her. Was visiting from out of state and wanted to see local small businesses. Walked into this place and was immediately hit with a terrible smell. It was so bad I literally had to leave while my husband continued shopping. Smells do not usually bother me and I can bare through most, but this one was horrible. read more

I've bought a lot of items from this store. But come to find out some of my rocks are fake!!! Some of my crystals aren't actual crystals their made in a lab!!!! This is beyond disappointing especially for a pagan witch who does rituals. Selenite is actually see threw. So please change your labels to Satan spar stop misleading people here. We all know you order most of your stuff online in bulk and it all comes from China or Twain. I've looked on eBay and you get any rocks or crystals in us only China. So please be careful going to this store. Everything is priced way over what it should be. If you asks questions about something they'll give you an attitude and give you dirty looks. Was expecting good energy but very sadly got bad energy.... -Rude comments -Bad service -Rip off I have been beyond excited to visit this store for over a week now and when I did I was utterly disappointed...I was not distraught by the stone and rocks themselves, (there was a wonderful variety) , but I was more concerned with the attitude of the owner... As soon as I walked in there was NO welcoming and after being in there, seriously, looking for thirty minutes I still had no acknowledgement. The owner seemed to be preoccupied doing whatever in the back as the phone was ringing incessantly. After I looked around for about half an hour ALONE, with NO help, I decided to ring up because I was sick of the RUDE comments the owner made at me and yet she was rude. My experience in this shop was underwhelming. Thankfully I knew what I was looking for upon arrival because there wasn't much direction while in the shop. Little signs throughout but the employee did not leave from behind the glass counter. There are some good crystals you can find at decent prices but you really have to look. Some things were over priced... I don't live in the area but wanted to stop by while visiting to compare products and prices. It was much different from other crystal or rock shops I'd been too. The main focus here seemed to be geology. I was looking for a more spiritual shop. The products were everywhere with seemingly no rhyme or rhythm. I have a sort of zen office that I've filled with bamboo, vases filled with various river stones, plants, art and a table top fountain. I didn't mean to "get into" rocks, but something about the colors, patterns and weight of these smooth stones evoked a feeling... No, I happen not to "believe" in crystals and other new age beliefs, but I do believe in things from nature in my little zen cave. In the winter, I wanted a space that felt natural, creative and that somehow flowed regardless of what winter blight that might come my way. The Enchanted Rock Garden was somehow just that, enchanting. The variety of hue, texture, color and shape represented the best of nature's best sculpture. There are rocks and stones from all points from Madagascar to India. To be frank, I don't know what I bought, but one is a crystal with many faceted prisms conglomerated in an appealing configuration. I also bought some clear, jade colored stones with various shades of jade that marble the clear-water, smoothness of the stones in a pleasing way. The proprietor was charming and she was patient with my fifty questions as I feasted my eyes on heaping boxes of stones, crystals and rocks. The fact that she was trying to gulp down a snack somehow made our conversation seem more casual and warm. As someone new to this, I found some of the larger piece prices shocking until I thought again - these prizes are collected all over the world and their beauty represents earth's. Besides, there are hundreds of options such as the smaller stones I purchased that were $5 and under. Don't expect new age ambience, expect what feels more like uncatalogued boxes and boxes of treasure awaiting display at some museum of science and nature. You can spend as little or as much time as you care to spend and as little or as much money, but for me, the array of colors and places took me on an enchanting journey in my mind that I intend to repeat. In the end, I got out of there with about $40 worth of crystal and stones that sit on my desktop as I type. Granted, my husband still scratches his head, but fortunately for me, considers my whimsy to be part of my charm. My budget won't allow me to purchase the larger, grand pieces sculpted by nature, but with so many stones at $5 and under, I intend to skip the lattes - I think I've finally found something worth collecting. read more

The name (and the ad in "the edge" magazine ) hade me expecting a dimly lit store with insense burning and new age music playing softly. To be honest, I was happily suprised when my expectations were wrong. I was completely blown away by the variety available. They had an actual dinosaur skull for sale! Fossilized megaladon teeth! And pretty much every other kind of rock, in a variety of sizes and price ranges. Even if you don't know much of anything (or care much) about rocks it's still a cool shop. Love this hidden gem! I have seen this little place many times and wondered what was inside. My 9 year old son and I were hunting for obsidian and this store was definitely the place to go. This shop is THE BEST PLACE for all things geological. Peter can get you a small stone, a stone based jewelry, or a large display quality stone or even fossil. You can get rough stones, mostly polished stones, in different shapes & sizes, or you can ask him to look for a specific stone for you. He goes to many shows throughout the year all over the place, so if he doesn't have it in stock, he can get it for you. Need a book? He's got those too. Great selection of rocks and minerals. Good size specimens. However, "Metaphysical Mary's" knowlege and customer service is sorely lacking. Whatever you do, don't ask her a question unless you like to be made to feel like a fool and that you are putting her out.. Only when you produce your cc do you get some semblance of respect.
