I love world market because they have items from all over the place. I especially like Sanrio items, the snacks from all over and the mini items. I also like when the Christmas displays come around. So many things to look at. I feel like they usually have coupons or deals via the rewards system which is cool. I feel like most of the staff are in the front end and they are usually nice. I've been wanting to check out World Market for over a year-ish. I happened to be in the area and it was right there, so decided to zip in and check it out. I really had no idea what to expect, but as soon as I walked thru the door, was a cart with coffee and tea offerings. I tried both which they were lukewarm (not surprised as this was evening time when I was in there), but the tea was tasty. Then I went in browsing the store myself. There were sections with Christmas related merchandise and just other merchandise. I naturally gravitated towards the stationary/book section-- lots of offerings there. The food/drink sections were huge. Lots of items to explore including international items as well. I thought that was very neat. I briefly looked at the jewelry/aromatherapy section. I found a few pieces of jewelry I'd wear, super cute! Lastly, I headed over to the kitchen section. Found some really cool plates and other kitchen items. I do have to say I was a little disappointed that I passed 3 employees during my visit and not one even acknowledged me. I thought that was very strange and unacceptable. You should say hello to customers when they visit the store. Customer service skills are a large part of customer satisfaction and help decide if the customer will be returning or not. Overall, my first time here was enjoyable and glad I stopped in to check it out. I' think if/when I'm in the area I'll stop back in to see what new goodies they have that time around. Unique and cute place. Lots of interesting things. The prices are very high, so just be prepared for that. Overall, not bad.

I came in here to look at their woks, and while I didn't find quite what I needed, I took the opportunity to browse a bit (as one does at World Market). It didn't take long for me to find some wonderful new things. I found the adjustable silicon pie shield that I could have used this morning. I found my favorite snack (Whisps) on clearance for 55% off. I found a Tangle fidget toy. Checkout went quickly, and Eric was friendly and helpful. World Market has furniture, home goods, etc., but did you know that they have an amazing international food section? They have a section at the back of the store with foods and beverages from all over the world. Crisps and chips from England, hot pot mixes, sausage from Germany. It's quite the collection. Esly helped me today at the register. I got an email today saying I have a $5 reward. I went in to use it and I gave her my phone number which is your Id number. She asked me to type in my password. I dont have it so the website tells you to input your email to create a new password I've do t this numerous times. It takes awhile for it to go through so by the time I go back it's expired. I've called world market help line and they say they have fixed which they have not. I usually visit this place to buy rare ingredients/foods that I would not usually find in other grocery stores.. they have nice selection of products from various countries.. for immigrants who miss their special ingredients and confectioneries, you should visit here... they do also have great interior design and furniture stuff that you can buy... love their seasonal updates on furnitures... they have plenty of parking for this branch! read more

This store has a lot of neat stuff. There are so many snacks I want to try. They had some great sales on Christmas stuff before the season was over. The prices are comparable to similar stores. If you need to do some last minute Christmas shopping, this would be a good place to try. My wife tells me we have one in Orlando, so we'll have to go there sometime soon. read more

This is a Boomer's dream. Especially the nostalgic food section. I've been hunting down marshmallow Fluff. It's the only place that carries it. Not that creme crap. I picked up a pasta and some sea salt popcorn. A 4 pack of Dad's rootbeer. I stumbled on some cool ginger snaps. Loaker Dark chocolate pieces. I didn't have time to do a lot of browsing since they open at 11 and I had to pick up a pizza at Giordano's. read more

This was a nice store to browse around. I was actually there to find Sundried Tomato-stuffed Olives that I have only found in a World Market in the past (Illinois or Wisconsin when on a business trip). They had only 2 jars left, I bought them both. Anyways, onto my visit -- The staff was very attentive and polite. I did notice some guys that appeared to be big wigs in the store. This might have been a special day that everyone was on their best behavior, maybe it was normal. I was approached by staff a couple times while browsing, not being in this store before, I told the gal what I was looking for and she pointed me right to them. She noticed there were only 2 so she also was kind enough to look up on a handheld device the local inventories and she informed me that both the Roseville and Maple Grove location also have some. That was nice to know if i really need more. I browsed more around the interesting foods from all over the world. Many cool things and there were some that looked good but without my other half to answer questions about preparation, I was a bit reluctant on some things, but I did find some nice Italian pizza making items that I bought. They have A LOT of sodas and candies from all over the world. I took photos of all kinds of stuff. I am eating much healthier than the old me that was 118 lbs heavier so I didn't grab any sweets. They also had some premium soups that sounded interesting so I bought some of those too. The young lady at the checkout was very nice also. They are having a Veteran's Day Sale so I got an extra discount. All of the stuff i grabbed was only $20. Not bad. I want to take my wife back here to browse with me. I think she would also enjoy the stuff here. I wasn't looking at furniture or home goods but they did have a lot of selection to look at and see what tickles your fancy. My experience at the out-of-state location was bleak and quiet with nobody approaching or asking to help. I am not sure what the norm is at these stores. I can see the reviews are up and down. I'm thrilled to have this old friend back in the neighborhood and in its same location. I just about cried when Cost Plus World Market let a couple of years ago, and every time I was out in California or Colorado noticed that they still had their locations. Now, both the market and liquor store are open again, and the place is jumping. I prefer this location because it's within walking distance from where I live, but there's also the Roseville location, which is where I work. Hopefully we'll see more pop up around Minnesota. Love this store in general! If your a frequent shopper, make sure you sign up for their rewards program and emails. Everything in that store goes on sale eventually. Seeing that they were having Up to 60% off their furniture, I shopped online and chose to pick up my furniture at this location. Service initially wasn't great, but when I indicated that, the cashier apologized, which was greatly appreciated. She reminded me that if I text coupons to 95730, all my discounts will be sent. I saved an additional $20. The store was quite empty with merchandise, probably due to the fact they were getting rid of all their Christmas items. But, I totally scored on buying additional furniture. Normally $300, I bought a coffee table for $100. The bonus with this location, their' s a Trader Joe's across the way! read more

I thought the service was bad at the Roseville location, I guess it's the same everywhere with this place. Go to HOME GOODS instead. Home Goods has many locations, huge selection of great products, and better prices. Service isn't going to blow your mind, but they're competent compared to this bunch. The variety of products I'll still give World Market that, but I can no longer shop at any of their locations. I keep receiving terrible service with no apology. I stopped at this Bloomington location over my lunch break. It took me 15 minutes to gather all of my items, about 10 items for a housewarming gift. I get to the checkout lane and immediately tell the girl I need a gift receipt, she says sure. She doesn't hand me one at the end. I asked for it and she says "oh I forgot, do you really need it?" "Yes, I need it." For the next 32 minutes another girl tries to help her. The other cashier, let's call her #2, gives her instructions to re-ring. I have no idea what's happening, but the girl didn't do it right so she just stands and stares to see when someone will help her. #2 is flying from one cashier to another, then over to the wine area and back, as my girl continuously messes up. There's a line of people behind me looking aggravated. I'm now WAY past my break time and really trying to keep my cool. Finally #2 calls for the manager, he comes over and voids the mess my cashier made. He doesn't bother to ask what's happening, look at me, or offer any kind of basic customer service politeness. Then #2 returns all of my items, moves me to another register so my original girl can get to the other guests, and rings me up again with a gift receipt. This is atrocious. I left with 6 receipts. I asked to keep them all as I was almost certain I'd have 6 of the same charges on my credit card. #2 did her best, it seemed like she was the only one working in this whole place. The moron helping me offers no apology, neither does the manager because he doesn't give a shit what's going on. Give cashier #2 codes to void a transaction and demote the manager, he's USELESS. read more

This is a great store, I think it's similar to Pier 1 but without the high prices. You can get out of the ordinary decor,foods,gifts here. There is a great rewards program here you can earn cash and coupons. I've bough clothing from here that I adore and get lots of compliments on. And one of a kind furniture pieces. Online ordering is a nightmare and honestly pales greatly in comparison to Amazon or other brick and mortar stores. I purchased a few items I couldn't find in store only to get an email three days later saying that they were out of stock of the items I ordered. It annoyed me because I purchased extra things to meet the free shipping quota. When I brought that up with management, they refunded me the shipping costs (which were free for me anyways) but did not refund the extra $25 of items purchased that I didn't really want...terrible customer service. I have purchased all of the above from here, and have never been disappointed with a purchase. I recently moved into a new apartment, and most of my furniture has come from here. When I went to World Market I expected there to be billions of awesome things everywhere, mainly because people talk this place up like it should really be called Cost Plus Treasure Market or something. Let me tell you something, they are wrong. THEY ARE SO WRONG. It's like WalMart and some foreign country had a baby, decided to throw out half their inventory and only keep the no-name crap. The employee's faces said it all - they looked like their best friend had died. The home decor stuff looks nice until you realize it's made out of fiberglass and cotton balls. And don't let their website fool you - it makes everything look awesome, but I dare you to try and find most of it (hint, it's not there.) Oh and they do carry food from other countries, but so does Byerly's. Big whoop. I'm shaking just thinking about saying this, but I'm going to say it - I'd rather shop at WalMart. read more

I'm so happy World Market is back in MN! It took me what seemed like forever to make it there once it reopened though... and shame on me! What a whimsical mix of food and findings! I just love the variety this place has to offer! Make sure you check out their customer club. Turns out they also have a coffee program - and if you buy on Wednesdays you get double punches! They also have an extensive line of Torani syrups and tea if you are into those things.... and whose not? :-) They also have a nice little liquor store that the rewards program gives you perks on, although I didn't stop in that particular day so I'm not remembering what... shame on me again! This place is phenomenal! I love coming in specifically for their food isles; where else am I going to get Polish candies, besides the Internet (or Poland)? World Market, that's where! I stop in every once in a while to always pick up a new treat and browse the shelves. I love what they offer, in terms of products, but everything is hit and miss when it comes to quality (what place isn't though?). On this trip, we ended up buying chocolate chips (to make pecan turtles) and some syrup to add to warm drinks (which I then get to pretend I'm a barista from Starbucks, making fancy flavored drinks). The prices are extremely competitive and often cheaper than other places, at least when it comes to grocery items. My only complaint is that employees seem to be few and far between (there are only like 3 people working every time I go in). Will I be back? Uh, yeah! read more

I love this place, my roommates and I come here when we are bored and always walk out with something. I love food so all the international foods and snacks are my fav things to browse when I'm here. The first time I came here I found Happy hippos which are chocolate filled wafers that look like hippos. I first had them in Italy and I fell in love and I knew it would be impossible to find them in any store in the U.S. I was so wrong! So glad this store is back! I like to wander the perimeters and find the sale sections. I have bought interesting food items for my brother-in-law, inexpensive placemats and napkins, a pair of cheap headphones for at my desk. You could spend hours in here! As others have mentioned I'm pretty happy this joint decided to re-enter the MN market. Why'd they leave? I stopped in to this location when in the area and, well, I like the Roseville one better, even sans booze store (which I was told would be opening soon, maybe has by now). This location just seemed more chaotic than Rosev. It didn't seem like there was any flow to the way products were placed. Stuff was in the way. Hard to explain but the vibe here was way off. And when I got to the food section many shelves were bare. I dunno...maybe they just had an off day or something but I live about equal distance from both places so I'll just head to roseville. Maybe the best way to sum it up was the rosev store seemed ordered and ready for customers and this store seemed cluttered and unprepared. I also noticed in their booze shack there is a LOT less selection than what it used to be. I haven't been to the Trader Joes across the parking lot but based on past TJ's experience, I'd just go there if I was looking to booze it up and needed to feel trendy while buying my liquids;) This may seem critical, but it is constructively intended. I like World Market, I like that I can get lots of products here you can't find elsewhere. I mean, I've never seen a box of 100 Twinings Earl Gray teas anywhere else, have you!? And my Japn gf just goes bonkers when she sees the Japn candies in that section. this place is OK. it reminds me of when pier one was cool. yes I'll go back but i am a little disappointed what when i went there yesterday they didn't have their sale signs up. (i went there because i got an e mail from them saying that they had a lot of stuff on sale. i wanted to get a barbecue set on sale. The problem? i went there and there were no signs saying that they were on sale even though the e mail said they were.) i had to find an employee who didn't know if they were on sale and then he had to go get a scanner to find out what was and what was not on sale. i would have gotten more than just the set but i didn't fell like dragging the helpful employee around the store and making him scan things that i was interested in. I'll go back cuz I'm a sucker for cheap and interesting, but I'm not happy about the not being set up for the sale that was going on. read more

Cool place. They always have coupons for people that sign up for their member's club. Their food selection is unique. You cannot find anything like it...I guarantee. They have foreign products, which, in tangent, go along with other unique American products. I really like going here, but watch out for the zombies walking the aisles. Always fun to wander around this place. The cool stuff is seldom very quality, however. I bought some wind chimes that sounded great in the store but when hung in a tree, were absolutely silent, would've taken hurricane force winds to get any sound out of them. Also, their candles are similar to Pier One candles in that they smell great until you light them, when they all turn into unscented candles. read more
