We were in the area and were stopping at some other shops nearby that are typically more "discounted" for home decor. After striking out at two places and making the drive to Burnsville, we decided we might as well stop into Kirkland's. I'm glad we did! We found exactly what we were looking for and the whole store was 30%. We bought a decently large piece for our wall and it was under $40 ... probably cheaper than what we would have paid at those "discount" home decor stores nearby. Minus one star because the check out line was extremely slow, and it seemed like only one out of the two cashiers had any clue what they were doing.

When MNHO first opened I felt like a kid in a candy shop! As a Real Estate addict I am always in need of something. I found in the beginning I apparently needed more than I thought as often times my trips would result in someone having to bring a trailer to pick up whatever treasure I purchased. TVs, vanities, vacuum cleaner, patio set, tools, chandeliers, you name it, Ive bought it. The last few times I have gone I have seen a higher increase in pricing. The unfortunate part about this is that some of the items they now have, you would never expect for them to be there and now you see them at a slightly discounted price- for example today I saw cute pillow cases that were $8.00. If they were $2.00 I would have thrown them in the cart. The kicker for me was a small accent pillow marked for $19.99. While their facility is now HUGE their always changing inventory is no where near as exciting as it once was. As some of the other reviews mentioned it is often the case to get something with using parts or not in working order. The occasional sales are a nice way to feel like you are getting a deal, but if I'm being honest I would rather go to the original venue to ensure I get it right the first time. The ladies of PPP are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet! It's so fun to be able to get creative and make your own candle. These candles burn way better than some of the ones at big box stores. After the class I took some time to shop the store. The cheapest candle is $7 and I think the most expensive one (outside of ordering a custom one) is about $40. I picked up a couple of great gift items for friends and family. They have cards, clothes, games, some food based items and just about everything in between. There is parking right outside the store; which makes stopping in to grab some goodies even easier.

They are up to it again this year so no more Holly House. I cannot even look at the engraved silverware anymore without animosity. I will greatly miss the cookies, pierogies, mittens and other fun items but I want to shop where it makes me happy for Christmas. I wasn't going to write this review but after my friend told the same story to me, I realized it is impacting more people. We need more merry and bright.
