And... they promised completion in 7 days, but called to say it was ready in just 3 days. The competitor said it would take 10 days. Service from the sales lady was so friendly and easy to work with. The ambiance was their only downfall the 80s/90s vintage oak cases did not look so luxurious. But when prices are 90% lower than their competitors, I would shop elsewhere to figure out my favorite styles, then come here to price check before buying.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience in this story late last year…read more Unfortunately, today that was not the case. Granted, all I needed this day was one watch battery replaced and two watchbands changed. I had bought a new watch for my Mom (age 83) and she really wanted the old band on the new watch. So I dropped off the two watches with the salesperson "Mercedes" who told me to expect the job to be finished tomorrow. I was home maybe an hour when she called to tell me that both batteries had been changed but they were unable to change the bands because they didn't have the right tools. Now these two watches are simple Timex ladies quartz watches with the "stretchy" metal bands but I wasn't asking to modify the bands length (I don't believe THAT can be done). I just wanted to swap bands. They both were the same size and the band is held on by the same kind of pin that every other wristwatch uses. When I picked up the watches, she was kind enough to only charge me for the one battery I requested so no worries there. After the transaction was complete, I told Ms. Mercedes that I was confused by the inability to change a watchband. I noted that a third of their retail space was dedicated to selling watches but if they lacked tools to change bands then they must lack tools to remove or add links to bands so why would someone buy a watch there if they couldn't even adjust the size or change a band?. Oh no! We can change links! "But if I buy a $9000 Rolex, you wouldn't be able to remove the metal band so I could wear it with a leather band?" "I suppose we couldn't." She then tried to tell me that they cold only remove strap pins from watches that have holes all the way through the lugs. (I've never seen one that does). Never mind that 30 feet behind me was a GIANT jewelry service center. Then a couple walked in the front door and I was dismissed while she scurried off to find greener pastures. I understand that I was not a big dollar customer but I also wasn't asking for the work to be done for free. I was more than ready to pay for it. I didn't even ask, "How much?" because my earlier experience in the store had been so positive. Now what should be two trips (one to drop of and one to pick up) will end up being four trips for the simple reason that Jared couldn't be bothered to change the bands on Mom's watches. They had a chance to bolster an already very positive impression but didn't want to go to the trouble. My wife has a "lifetime" battery in one of her watches we got at this store. The only time we'll ever be going in there again is to replace it. Other jewelry business we'll be taking elsewhere.
