Jan was such a pleasure to work with. As a first time home-buyer, and later, home-seller, I really needed an agent who would walk me through the process, explain the many many documents involved in the purchase/sale of a property, and have the patience to answer all of my many questions. Jan was able to do all that and more! While working as my buyers agent, Jan was always available to set up a property viewing, walk me through the many many disclosures, and advocate for me through all steps of the sale. A few years later, Jan became my sellers agent and was again available day and night for anything I needed, guiding me through all steps of listing and showing a property. During a time when many comparable properties in my area were sitting on the market for months, with Jan's guidance and strategy, I ended up accepting an offer above the asking price after the first open house weekend! I would highly recommend working with Jan. Buying and selling a home can be extremely stressful, but knowing Jan was there to help really took away the anxiety. Extremely grateful to have had her as my agent, I cannot recommend her enough! read more

We highly, highly recommend Jan Emamian as an agent. Jan is incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and hardworking. She excelled at really listening to what we wanted and needed in a new home. We depended on her experience, expertise, and good judgment throughout a sometimes-overwhelming process - she even made it seem easy! And through it all (an ever-changing market, offers on multiple houses, etc.), Jan was always so upbeat, patient, and supportive. She was truly dedicated to finding a home for us and our family. We are so grateful to her. read more

Jan is out of this world! This was my first home-buying experience, and Jan helped make it manageable and enjoyable. I had been working with another agent previously (one I thought I had to work with because the lender introduced us, but I didn't know any better). After being treated poorly on multiple occasions, I remembered Jan and reached out. She's an absolute dream to work with. She's knowledgeable, proactive, patient, and available. Not to mention, she genuinely cares. She loves being a realtor, and it shows. I highly recommend her to anyone in search of a realtor! read more

Jan is the absolute best! She treated us like family, had our best interests at heart always, and I will recommend her to everyone! With the market being crazy competitive, it was hard to find someone who could help us submit an offer that would stand out, she did, and got our family the perfect home for us! Plus she is incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the whole process easily. Don't waste time, seriously call Jan! read more

I'm a Mortgage Loan Officer and would give Jan more stars if I could. She is an awesome Realtor who is on the ball for her clients. She communicates very well and is very pro-active. We were connected by chance and I'm so thankful and excited to grow this working relationship. If you want the job done right reach out to Jan and her Team. John Baldridge NMLS #1942991 read more

This was our second time working with the Emamian team, and just as the first, they were a pleasure to work with. When we were considering selling our home, they provided us with their expertise (without pushing) and when we were ready to make that decision, they got us an amazing offer we could not refuse. At the same time they helped us find a new home that we love. It was quite a process with the seller, but Jan and team took care of us throughout the process. They really do care about you and your happiness with such a huge purchase. They ensured we were safe along the way, were very responsive, and went above and beyond constantly. Although we plan to stay put for a while, if we ever do decide to move again, it will hands down be with this team! read more

My wife and I met Jan three years ago through Redfin as a buyer agent. Although we decided to postpone the home purchase, Jan left a mark on us for her knowledge of the real estate market, her honesty and her manners. Three years later, we were ready to buy our first property in LA. We met with several Real Estate agents and kept thinking how much nicer was to work with Jan. So, we decided to contact her again and met to bid for a house we really liked in the demanded area of Hancock Park. Of course, Jan acted with the same level of professionalism. It felt like we were being in touch all these years since we connected well from the start. We met with the selling agent and she and Jan got along really well. Then, Jan discussed thoroughly the numbers with us with us and advise us to place an offer that tactically made a lot of sense. In the end, our offer was the winner and Jan made possible for us to own a house in Hancock Park. She made our dream come true!! read more

Jan is awesome! Never gave up, positive attitude, a bright star when we were down. Great personality, savvy negotiator and well connected.

Jan and her team provided the highest quality experience for a first time home buyer like myself. Communication was clear, honest and respect and never condescending as I have experienced in the past with agents claiming to know what you want and need. Jan always looked to accommodate and cater to the needs of what I was looking for. 5/5 would recommend to anyone looking for an honest, efficient and successful experience. I am walking away feeling a lot more empowered about the process and the overall outcome. Look no further than Jan for your home buying needs for all aspects of the process from finding and insurance policy, a contractor or inspector she does it all efficiently and effectively without every being overbearing. Thanks Jan for all your hard work to make my home buying experience possible! read more

This review is a long time coming. However, it's still important for me to say that Jan was a great help to us. In Feb of 2017 my wife and I began thinking about purchasing a home. Didn't really know if it was even possible to find anything within our budget. One of the realtors we met with was Jan, who assured us she could help us find something. I don't think anyone could have been prepared for how picky we were, but she never gave up on us. It took about 5 months and about 5 offers for us to find our home. But we made it! Had quite a few issues with an unreasonable seller realtor and a bad experience with a loan officer at the last minute, but Jan helped us through the whole thing. Thanks Jan! read more

Jan and her team are as professional as it gets. We have worked with them on two occasions, and we have been 100% satisfied both times, in fact, they exceeded our expectations both times. They last helped us to purchase a house in Eagle Rock in 2020 which was a wild time for real estate here in LA. We found an amazing fixer in a prime area of Eagle Rock, and thanks to persistence from Jan's team, we beat out investors and were able to purchase the house. Most recently, they helped us sell our house in Silver Lake, for approximately 270K over asking price (and about 2K per square foot). They helped us get funds to prep the house for listing, and provided us with a list of vendors to help us do so. The house looked impeccable, and it was reflected in the numerous offers we received. I would 100% recommend their services for both listing your house and for buying a house. read more

Jan was the best agent we could've asked for. She has the patience of a saint! She was always kind and honest, knowing my fiancé and I were first time home buyers. She would help us consider what work may need to go into any house we purchased. She looked at countless houses with us in multiple neighborhoods, always keeping our wishlist in mind. In the end, we bought a probate house. A probate sale is extremely complicated, especially for first time home buyers who didn't know what they were doing! She helped us come up with a game plan for an offer and checked in with the selling agent frequently. When our offer was accepted, she checked in with us often while we waited around for a court date. The day of court, we had an overbidder! After months of waiting, we feared we would lose the house, but both Jan and Payman were there to support us in court and walk us through what to expect. We ended up winning the house! Then we had to go through a very complicated and long Escrow. There was a lack of communication with escrow, but Jan was so great about following up frequently and getting us answers! I don't think there's any way we could be where we are today without her. read more

Jan is an amazing agent. She is courteous, honest, up-front and laser-focused on getting things done, like actually done. I highly recommend her and her team. We had become pretty discouraged after missing on several offers in a pretty competitive area of North East LA. We decided to move on from our agent at the time and had no formal plans to replace that agent, we had sort of run out of gas on the whole process. And then we met Jan, we immediately felt at ease and re-inspired to keep looking. Her dedication to her craft and her energy and her charm was infectious. She is very experienced and capable. We found, and successfully purchased, an amazing home in our favorite neighborhood within what seemed like the first month or so with her. It was the second house we looked at together. I am writing this review from the dining room of that house now. We had another issue however which is that we had to sell our house we moved out of. Jan got it into gear pretty quickly and covid-be-damned, we powered through the awkward months of March and April... got the staging, painting, and photos done and successfully held very careful one-at-a-time private showings... and we closed June 8th for a great price, and were very excited to see our house go to a wonderful couple who had just bought for the first time. Jan was solid as a rock throughout both the buying and the selling process... we couldn't be happier, but above and beyond that I feel like we made a great new friend. Her husband, can I just say, is awesome too. Thank you so much. Mike read more

I got to knew Jan through a friend who bought/sold his home last year. She recently helped me get my house in Pasadena. Absolutely amazing agent. Not only nice, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her work, she is organized, strong & reasonable in negotiation, also great at moving things forward. For instance, there was a little trouble/delay with my loan officer (choice of my own, huge regret, if you are trying to find someone, ask Jan and she will recommend someone great), she tried every way to push things forward, strongly & professionally. In the mean while she was trying her best to protect her client in case there was anything to happen. Also she kept me updated on anything and everything I need to know or to do, the entire process is smooth on her end. She is always punctual, and she helps you deal with a lot of things that you don't understand fully, or you don't have time to do--that's from looking at the house, to bidding, to negotiating the house, to inspections, to opening/closing escrow. If you choose her as your agent, you should know you are in good hands. Also during the time my house was in escrow, she help that friend of mine got a new offer, which she recommended to him. After talking and working with you, she will know you well and provide you the choices that you will really want. If there is anything in the future, i am choosing Jan again. Like i said, amazing agent. read more

My wife and I are first time home buyers and we were extremely fortunate to be paired up with The Emamian Team early on in our home purchasing quest. Jan Emamian and her partner Ellen Davies were extremely patient with us throughout the entire process, answering text messages throughout the week, sometimes late into the night, always being available for phone calls, and also working closely with our lender who they recommended to us. When we toured homes, Ellen was kind enough to watch our dog so that my wife and I could check out the homes. When we found a home that we wanted, Jan wrote up an offer that couldn't be refused and we got the deal ON OUR FIRST TRY! The whole process was very painless and we feel like we got a GREAT deal on a home that we fell in love with. We definitely recommend working with Jan and Ellen. Thanks again :) read more

My husband and I just bought our first home and we totally lucked out with having Isis as our agent. After a few months of looking with an agent that rarely returned our phone calls and emails, we came across Isis profile and thought we'd give her a try. She was so patient with us and answered every conceivable question we had at all hours of the day, even on weekends. We really felt supported by Isis and couldn't have asked for a better agent. We will be referring all of our friends to Isis, she is the absolute best! read more

Bought a home in 2012 in Ocean Park, Santa Monica, CA 90405. I can't describe Jan and Payman in anything but superlatives. I ended up buying my townhome in Santa Monica in 2012. Jan was my agent and we looked for almost a year before landing that which fit my criteria. Jan was wonderful throughout the process from day one until the day of closing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accessible. She made the whole home buying process a smooth transition, even though it is supposed to be a stressful process. Even after having finished my transaction in 2012, she has been helpful- for example, I recently contacted her for an interior designer recommendation and she immediately replied. Jan is wonderful. I have to say that Payman is just as wonderful. During my home buying process, my financing at the very last minute fell through. Luckily, Payman guided me in the right direction and I was able to still land my current home. I really can't say enough about Jan and Payman. Both are wonderful to work with and I know they will provide top service. Highly recommend!! read more

As first time buyers, Jan and James were extremely helpful throughout our purchasing experience. They made sure to look out for our interests and made the daunting process of buying our first home much more manageable. When we decided to make our offer, Jan sat down with us for two hours to explain everything. Her advice on how to make our offer allowed us to get the property quickly and avoid a multiple offer situation. James was very thorough during our inspection of the properties and Jan made sure we understood everything before we made any decisions. We were really fortunate to have them represent us. read more

Jan and Payman Emamian (and the entire Compass Pasadena Old Town team) made my condominium look so beautiful, there was a bidding war for the sale! The "staging" services highlighted the desirability of the property, and the condo sold for thousands above the original asking price. The Compass associates, along with the Chartwell Escrow team members, kept me informed of offers, responded promptly to my questions and concerns, and made the entire escrow process run smooth and quick. Wow, I could not be happier about my experience with the Emamian Team. We moved from out of state and from the very beginning Jan was a joy to work with. She made the process of finding a new home long distance so easy for us. She even cleared her calendar to show us homes when we were able to make a last minute trip out. And in this competitive market she knew exactly how to get us the first home we made an offer on. I'm so happy we got the opportunity to work with her and her whole team. I know we were able get our beautiful home thanks to her and her team's hard work. Thank you, all!! read more

We are so fortunate to have found Jan through Redfin; we really lucked out. We are so very grateful for the tremendous help and service provided by Jan and her team during a 5-month process of looking for, bidding on, and finally purchasing our first home. It was grueling at times (as we narrowly and not-so-narrowly missed having our offers accepted on 6 homes) but Jan was simply unflappable and was there for us every step of the way. Her guidance on a wide range of topics was invaluable; for example, she really understands the market and provided excellent guidance on how much to bid. She would not let us make foolish decisions! (while at the same time giving us complete autonomy). Jan was also a delightful person to work with, with a very warm and friendly personality, and we certainly came to call her a friend during the time we worked together. Jan adeptly handled all stages of the process, from getting to know our tastes and showing us potential homes, to a very smooth escrow process in which we were able to close early (although the seller wasn't). We cannot recommend Jan and her team more highly. Thank you, Jan, for everything! You helped make our dreams come true. read more

We are very lucky to have Jan and Payman as our realtor agents. They helped us purchase our first home in Pasadena. Before that Jan also helped us rent a house in San Marino. We had a wonderful experience working with the Emamian team. They are very professional, patient, responsible, more importantly they are really nice people! We were first time buyers and had a lot of questions and concerns throughout the buying process, Jan was able to guide us and solve all the problems we had with the seller. Jan helped me find a home very quickly; I was in escrow within two weeks. This was new construction, so no real bidding on the cost--it is what it is. But she got me plants, a refrigerator and a washer and dryer (things I wouldn't have thought of asking for). She was extremely patient (I think I wanted to see the place 10 times before finally going for it). She answered all questions about the process and anything, really. Including recommendations on blinds, repair people, etc. I highly recommend Jan and the Emamian Team! read more

Jan has been such a wonderful realtor to work with. She helped us find our very first home. When I started this process, I did not have a realtor in mind and I had no idea what I was doing. I chose Jan because she seemed very nice and appeared to be a go-getter, and I am so glad I made that decision! From the beginning Jan has been diligent, organized, responsive, and knowledgeable. Not only that, but she is very fun and pleasant to be around, and she made this whole house-shopping experience enjoyable and much less stressful than I expected. When we found the home we wanted she fought for us and used her connections and expertise to help us submit the winning bid. I feel that I have not only found a wonderful realtor in Jan, but also a good friend. We could not be happier, and I will be recommending Jan to anyone I come across who is in need of a realtor. read more

Jan is amazing, dedicated and knows how to negotiate through any deal to help both sides close. When we worked with Jan, we were the buyers and had a 4 month old baby (our first). She helped us see the right path at all times during the 3-4 months we worked together, even guided us through that point we felt we'd seen EVERY house on the market and nothing was a fit for us. I remember the day Jan found the perfect home for our family, and then helped negotiate through a half-dozen critical moments where the deal could have fallen through. We have gone through several real estate transactions in and around LA & Orange County buying and selling about six houses / condos so far. We need to confess that we never came across such a true professional. Reference to our latest transaction (buying our condo in Pasadena), right from the start, she laid out all the procedures entailed in these transactions, did a quick survey of the market and gave adequate input to exactly meet our requirements. We found the condo we desired within no time to our utmost satisfaction. Most important quality about her is helping the buyer (in our case) all the way through the Escrow process (particularly all the purchase price negotiations, taking care of any issues came out of inspection report, etc.). She is rated right at the top of all the reviews, we selected her without any hesitation and our move paid off very well. Jan Emamian is a real estate professional on the top of her game! She is knowledgeable in every aspect of a real estate transaction, a competent and fair minded negotiator, eminently trustworthy, and technology savvy. But what sets Jan apart from other real estate agents is that she truly advocated on behalf of our family and protected our interests. Jan was proactive rather than reactive in handling issues that arose during the transaction, and offered viable solutions rather than handing us problems to solve on our own. My family and I will always be indebted to Jan for handling the sale of our family home and helping us with ancillary support in closing our mother's estate with such competence, respect and kindness. read more

I could not be happier with the services provided by Jan Emamian. I met Jan a few years ago when I was looking to purchase a home. Out of all the realtors I spoke with, Jan stood out for her friendly personality and obvious drive and knowledge of the real estate market. Jan worked very hard to find me the perfect home, and through the process she and her family became close friends of mine. When it came time to sell my home, Jan was the obvious choice. I had a lot going on in my life and so I did not have much time and attention to give to the sale. Jan took the reins and took care of everything; I did not have to worry about anything at all. And she did such a wonderful job with all of the preparations, from retaining an amazing stager to making sure the gardening was pristine and the yard clean and picked up at all times. Jan and her team truly went above and beyond the call of duty. My home received 12 offers and the selling price was $106,000 over the asking price. I cannot say enough good things about working with Jan. I was lucky to connect with her when I called about a house she had listed on zillow. I didn't know anything about her but she was persistent in her follow-up calls to me, which impressed me. Jan was everything I needed in an agent- patient, knowledgeable, professional and assuring. But she also gave me realistic expectations about the market and type of house I could afford. She was always very patient with my million questions. She never made me feel like I was being a pain (even though I am sure I was). She was really on top of new listings and made herself available within like 24 hours to look at places that I liked. I know there were many late evenings when she was working until late preparing offers for me. It was a really tough time to buy a house and we had to look at a lot of houses and make multiple offers. But she never made me feel like I was wasting her time. In fact, she was very reassuring that we would find the right house. And we did! With Jan, I felt like I had someone on my side that I trusted and that would fight for me. She was a great negotiator and stayed firm on what was important to me.
