I was a little bit apprehensive when my husband wanted to interview her. Since we really did not know her. We were meeting Monica through a referral source, our Real estate agent from another state. After our first meeting, she already had me at ease. We let her know that we need to secure our next home before we would list our current home. She understood it. One of the things I liked about working with Monica, she never pushed. Gave us breathing room. She would only say she's within a phone call or text away. And she was. Her insight in the real estate market is amazing. She even helped us decide on the home we purchased in another State! After we have purchased and secured our new home, couple of months after our initial meeting, we started serious conversations with her regarding listing our home in Alhambra. She guided us, informed us and directed us on what we should be doing next . From de cluttering our home, pictorials to the 3D matterport, Monica guided and directed everyone. I knew she was busy with her other clients but she was always "hands- on". It was impressive . Letting go is very hard. Letting go of a home we lived on for 18 years and moving to another State, is even harder. I personally went through so many emotions. I am grateful and thankful that we worked with Monica. Monica, thanks again for your help in selling our previous home. We appreciate you and your professionalism. You did a very good job. read more

We met Monica several years ago while visiting open houses in search of our first home in the San Gabriel Valley/East Los Angeles. We had no experience in the real estate market and had no concrete contacts with any realtors knowledgeable about the area. My mother who is a realtor in northern CA called Monica for us and encouraged us to engage her services to help us find our first home. The Los Angeles market is quite competitive even 6 years ago when we bought our first home. Monica met up with us every weekend for many weeks visiting open houses, making offers on homes, and helping us navigate through the sometimes emotional process of getting outbid by other buyers. Monica was always encouraging, caring, and gave us the little kick of reality when we needed it the most. When the offer on our first home was accepted, we were actually sad that we wouldn't see her on the weekends anymore. She had become such an essential part of an important phase in our life. Fast forward six years after our home purchase and we again called Monica to help us sell our house since we were moving out of the area. Monica was responsive, efficient, and personable like she always is and was able to get our house prepped for sale in less than 3 weeks. She managed the clean-up, cosmetic improvements, and staging. After the property was posted and the open house, we received more than 10 offers. The house sold for well above asking and the process to close went smoothly. We would not have been able to get all this done without Monica. read more

There was a property across the street from mine that was listed for sale. After being on the market for almost a year, the owner finally switched agents. Enter Monica. She came in, completely transformed it, and was able to immediately sell it. I loved what she did with it and I knew I wanted to have Monica as my listing agent. I reached out to Monica soon after and told her my plans. She replied almost immediately and I just felt like our personalities just jived--she was warm, friendly, and informative. After I was able to secure a new place, I met with Monica and we laid out the timeline. After I moved out, she was able to have my condo staged, photos taken, and listed in less than a week. I was in disbelief! My condo looked fantastic in pictures and in person. Good thing I already closed escrow on my new place, otherwise I'd reconsider selling my condo lol Looking at Monica's track record, I know she is an incredibly busy woman. Except I'd never know it based on how quick she was to respond and how she always kept me in the loop. We were able to get multiple offers over asking the first weekend after listing. She guided me on the offers and explained the pros and cons of each one. While we were in escrow, every time I thought to myself "I wonder when fill in the blank is?" And soon after, I'd hear from Monica giving me an update. It was like she read my mind! The escrow process was smooth--a little too smooth that I didn't feel like it was all actually happening! Even after closing, it all still feels so surreal because I'm not used to things being so easy and it's all because of Monica! Choosing Monica as my listing agent was one of the easiest decision of my life! read more

What can I say that everyone else hasn't said about Monica, she's amazing! My previous realtor semi-retired during Covid and recommended Monica saying that he absolutely trusts her! And boy was he right! She was able to sell my one bedroom condo, quickly, during covid, with an escrow that literally took a page out of 2020 playbook (nothing that we -seller/realtor- did wrong, just crazy unforeseen circumstances). Each time something unexpected came up, Monica stayed cool, professional, and helped me work through the issues. She has a great eye, very smart, and will help you navigate the crazy Pasadena/LA market with ease. Thanks Monica for your awesome work and looking forward to working with you in the near future. read more

We just sold our home with Monica, and the process could not have gone more smoothly! From the moment we met her, throughout the entire process, she was kind, professional, knowledgeable, full of integrity and her communication skills and dedication to her clients are beyond top notch. She had our house listed and sold within the first weekend, and was extremely conscientious of keeping our house clean and observing and enforcing all CDC protocols during the pandemic. We are very fortunate to have found Monica through a referral, and would not hesitate to refer her again and again! She made the process of selling our home stress free and easy! read more

Thanks to Monica we sold our house in 6 days after launch. With multiple offers no less! Monica is the most incredibly supportive and compassionate agent ever! I say supportive because everything she does is to support our needs and goals in putting our house on the market. It's not about her. It's about us. I say compassionate because she listens and gauges our emotional state and if she feels we are not ready to move forward or have second thoughts she is the first to let us know that we may need to take a pause. Because of this we have never felt rushed or pressured into making any decisions. She answered all of our calls and texts immediately and made us feel that we were the most important people in her life at that moment. The selling process was so smooth and went totally according to her predictions! No surprises whatsoever! We felt "in the loop" every step of the way! It was truly a positive and smooth experience! Thank you Monica for everything!! read more

Monica did an outstanding job handling the sale of our house. Since we moved out of state, she handled all of our affairs professionally and efficiently which gave us great peace of mind. She has a fantastic eye for design and her staging was key to us renting and then eventually to the final sale of our home. She was a great communicator when it came to all aspects of negotiations and because of that, everything went smoothly. There is no denying that her experience, expertise and knowledge of the current real estate market in Pasadena made the sale of our home a huge success! We would highly recommend Monica to anyone for buying or selling a home. read more

Monica is my agent to sell my condo. She is one of the best I have seen in the market. She is so detailed and knows exactly what buyer wants. From the date we sign the agreement, only took her less than a week to paint the condo, get rid of my old furniture, stage new furniture to listing. And less than a week we got 6 offers and way exceeded the asking price. And we closed the escrow in 3 weeks of time. She is ethical, honest and friendly, makes correct judgment on the market price and follow through every way to close of escrow. I highly recommend her to all of you who wants to buy and sell your homes. Highly trusted. read more

Monica is outstanding in every way! We first met her as the listing agent for the house we rented after moving to the area, and knew we'd love to work with her when the time came to purchase a home. She skillfully advised us in buying a house in the Pasadena/Altadena area during COVID and we could not be happier with our new place. When Monica heard the interest rate our former lender was offering us, she connected us to a great regional lender where we got a super competitive rate. Monica was with us every step of the way, and her tips on structuring our offer to be in the best possible position paid off 100%. She also recommended several companies that we have used for repairs and other work that the house needed and they have all been excellent. Thank you, Monica! read more

First impression and meeting with Monica was kind of casual business with no sales pitch but she listens to what my wife and I required. She emphasize our safety by wearing mask/shoe covers for people viewing our house and sanitize the house after. She went above and beyond in helping us for the preparation and putting our house in the market. Selling during pandemic times was tough but she was able to connect to a right realtor/buyer to appreciate our house and selling it faster! We highly recommend her because she really cares about her clients and treat them like family; very trustworthy, efficient and very attentive to our needs. We are greatful and blessed to have worked with Monica! read more

Monica has been our neighbor for many years and she was the only one I considered when it came time to sell our home. I always noticed that her homes would sell very quickly because they were priced right. We met to discuss the right time to sell because of the Covid-19 situation, we took her advise when she said "put the house on the market now". Her prep work including the photography was outstanding. Because of our concerns about having people in the house, we had a few restrictions. She was very accommodating and did everything we asked. She always looked out for our interest. And we felt safe during this health crisis. She found the right buyer and we sold our home in a 2 days. Did a great job in keeping us informed during the escrow process. Monica will do a great job in selling your home, be ready to move. read more

I cannot recommend Monica Hsu highly enough for your real estate needs. My family just completed probably the most important real estate transaction of our lives, the sale of a large estate in Pasadena, CA. From our very first meeting to the close of escrow, Monica displayed the highest degree of professionalism, always offering sound advice about improving our property yet also showing us her delight and love for the home we occupied for over forty years. Monica is keenly abreast of the real estate market and always available to answer questions and provide useful information both as we prepared to list and also during the escrow process. I won't bore readers with the myriad ways in which Monica went the extra mile in guiding us through such an important and sometimes emotional experience but suffice it to say she is willing to work round the clock to best serve her clients' needs. Monica is smart, industrious, encouraging, funny, savvy kind and most importantly, your biggest advocate. How many people can say that they are actually SAD when escrow closes? While I am so happy that she helped us sell our beautiful home to a lovely, deserving family, I am truly sorry that I won't be talking to her as much as we had these last few months! In sum, Monica is the ultimate pro and a joy to work with. read more

We worked with Monica to sell our home in Pasadena. She was totally professional and helped find contractors and handymen to do last minute repairs. She handled all aspects of the transaction efficiently and fairly. Monica was by far the best realtor we have ever worked with and we would net hesitate in the least to recommend her to anyone who is looking for a top notch real estate expert. read more

We worked with many real estate agents and by far Monica is my trusted go-to person for almost any advice relating to real estate, whether is buying, selling and for investment. She is very knowledgeable about the market and often has good intuitions that you would find valuable. She has a keen eye, understands the buyer/seller's perspectives and negotiation style that is a win win for all. She also comes with good network of useful contacts! I would highly recommend Monica for her amazing skills and services! read more

Monica's also super friendly and real easy to work with. I also appreciate that she was very quick and efficient with her communication. My family worked with Monica in order to purchase a good home in the Pasadena area, and we found our dream location! Monica was kind, helpful, and very attuned to what all of us (different family members) wanted and expected from our new home. This was a difficult task as my mother, father, and my fiance, and I all have different tastes and different needs and we thought it would be impossible to find a perfect house that would make us all happy. Monica showed us many houses, and we actually found two that were favorites! Monica also represented us as buyers in the negotiation, and we bought a condo! Hooray! Afterwards, Monica was also helpful because she set up great, professional painters to paint the house for us, contacted a handyman that did some repair work for the place, and ultimately prepared the unit just in time for our move in! read more

Monica is a great agent, she is very professional, hard working, on time and is a very kind and thoughtful. We appreciated her diligence and her pleasant demeanor, I can't think of anything she could have done better. My wife selected Monica based existing Yelp reviews of her services. I selected another Realtor based on another website. Fast forward four months, Monica listed our home, got us an offer over $50,000 above asking before we even had our first open house, helped us navigate through escrow period, and sold our house. Our home sold for $178,000 above what the other realtor suggested that I list my home at. For sake of comparison, my home sold for less than $900,000. That is right, $178,000 more than the suggested listing price of the other realtor on a home that sold for less than $900,000. In addition to having a keen understanding of our neighborhood, Monica is extremely pleasant to speak with, easily accessible, knowledgeable, has a great support team, and is extremely professional. Time and time again, she went above and beyond what my highest expectations of her to help us during our escrow period. My parting advice is to listen to Monica's suggestions. If she suggests that you spend a little money to fix minor issues, listen to her. If you have any doubt about giving her a call, just re-read my first paragraph. read more

Choosing a realtor is a difficult decision and we interviewed and asked many people for recommendations before we decided to work with Monica. We felt very comfortable that Monica really understood our home and her knowledge of the market impressed. We really felt the sense of trust that Monica would be able to get the best possible outcome for our family. We could not be more pleased with our decision. Monica was there every step of the way. She guided us though every process including how she would ensure a safe environment during Covid and when we had multiple offers, she explained our options. She ensured suitably qualified buyers were shown the house and we were soon in Escrow. Escrow went without drama. Monica clearly knew that the buyers were a great choice who loved our house. I happily recommend Monica to anyone looking for a professional, honest and truly wonderful person to sell their home. read more

We cannot be more grateful for Monica's professionalism, positive energy, and guidance in selling our first home! I was contemplating using an agent from purple bricks but when I interviewed Monica, I was completely blown away by her enthusiasm and passion in real estate. Our home was far from new so she was very honest in what we may encounter during the process but she also reassured us that our home is in a highly desirable location and that we should remain optimistic. Monica was equally interested in my family and understood that the more we sell our home for, the better position we are in purchasing our next home and starting a new chapter in our life. Monica reassured me that I won't need to stress about this process and that she will handle everything! That was a huge relief because my husband took a job out of state and with two kids, I had no idea if we could truly ever get the house "ready" to sell. The day after we moved out, Monica moved in model furniture and handymen to repair things throughout the house. We were in escrow and sold the property within 30 days of listing! We thought it would be stressful selling an older home while settling down in another state but Monica took care of everything! She worked so tirelessly for us and set the bar very high as our agent! If we move back to Pasadena, we'll definitely have her as our agent again! read more

Monica is truly an exceptional real estate agent. She came strongly recommended from a business partner and delivered beyond expectations. At every stage of the process of selling the home she provided great guidance and care in one of the most important financial decisions of our life. Many people unfortunately make the mistake of listing/buying their homes through friends or family thinking that all agents are the same, sadly for them they are not. Monica is a person of high integrity and her business ability is an asset during the entire process of selling a home: from pre-listing research to dealing with any issues post approval of an offer. read more

Monica helped us so much through the house buying process. We bought our new home before we moved to Los Angeles. She was so helpful from every aspects. She took us to open houses via FaceTime. She actually secured our house because she knew the seller agent, and avoided us from going into another bidding war. When we had problems with our loan agent, she also introduced us to another one who helped us close on time. She also helped us RENOVATE!! She not only introduced us the contractor, but also helped us choose the tile and painting. I didn't even mention that she also helped us turned on the water, find the gardener and the cleaner. She is just great. You won't go wrong if you buy your home with her. read more

Monica was our listing agent for our starter home in Monterey Park. While every house is different, and every sale is different, she did get us $40k over asking with over 10 offers and sold within a week. Because of our positive working relationship, I have recommended her to everyone who I know that is looking to sell or purchase a home. I recommended her to my brother, who also sold his house over asking and within a short period of time. Here are a few reasons why I would strongly recommend you hire Monica as your agent: 1). She is incredibly competent. She knows the market...she recommended we list our house higher and we ended up in a bidding war. We always took her advice, and trusted her completely. 2). She is efficient with her communication. She responds to you super quick. As a nervous seller, I truly appreciated this quality about her. We didn't have to wait days to hear from her, she was quick and always available on the phone. She kept us informed every step of the way. 3). She has an incredible team: photographer, stager, cleaning crew, handyman. Your fliers will look amazing and professional! She had our flyer printed in thick cardstock, in color, and had the floorplan available during the open house. **Note, I would highly recommend going with her stager --- it really makes your house look warm, inviting, everything to help get it sold quickly! Her cleaning lady is also incredible...she made our home really, really clean. Everything looked move in ready! 4). She looks the part. She is smartly dressed, very professional, and has a calm demeanor. Spend 5 minutes talking with her, and she will soon become your new friend! It is so clear that Monica is the right choice....I can't say enough great things about Monica. In addition to the reasons I listed above, she is just a wonderfully sweet and kind person. A few months ago we realized that we had to relocate to the West Side due to work reasons. It was painful enough to think about parting with our beloved house in Pasadena. To make matters worse, the necessity to buy a house first and then to start selling the Pasadena house paying the two mortgages in the meantime made the prospect of relocation simply scary. That is, it was scary until we had a meeting with Monica and she reassured us that it would not be a painful process and there was no reason to be stressed out about it. Immediately we felt better about our prospects and decided to rely on Monica's advice in every detail. That was probably the smartest business decision we have ever made! At every single stage of the process Monica exceeded our expectations. She arranged several simultaneous visits by the city of Pasadena inspectors, designers, gardeners, and photographers efficiently and saved us the trouble of staying home extra hours. She tastefully chose the staging that brought out the best in our house (we wished we had asked for her advice while we were still leaving there!) Even though she told us originally that the house would sell quickly, well, and with multiple offers, she overdelivered even in regard to this promise--the house was in escrow after seven days on the market with nine offers!! The escrow closed three weeks later and the house was sold. It has been a blessing to work with a perfect real estate agent and we know that if we ever need buy or sell real estate again Monica would be the person we will turn to. She is incredibly competent, efficient, smart, tactful, supportive, and creative. Looking back at our house selling process we know that it was so perfect at every step that no one could have possibly done a better job than Monica Hsu!! Katya M. read more

Woo hoo! Monica is the best! We like her so much we have done a total of four transactions with her! We've gotten to know her so well, we now consider her part of our family. She is kind, friendly, and never pushy. She gets to know you and your situation and she honestly cares for you, your family and everything you are going through. Two of our transactions consisted of purchases contingent on the sale of our existing property which can be tricky in this market. Most in her field doubted that she could pull them off. I met Monica last year at her open house in my neighborhood. I was just being nosy and visiting the house that she listed with no real intention to buy. However, during the visit we talked a little bit and right away I knew that this is the kind of real estate agent that I could trust. We were talking about exchanging a condo for my parents. She told me not to sell condo if I could due to it's low property tax. I had never heard of a real estate broker telling a customer not to sell the house. From then on her name was in my mind. She is a such professional broker and a big-picture person. She really thinks of the customer's benefit first. Recently I had a condo that I needed to rent out. She was extremely helpful in helping me with putting it on the market. We received multiple offers and ended up renting it out at a price beyond my expectations. She earned my trust and from now on, whenever I want to buy or sell properties, I will go to her first. I would highly recommend her to all of my friends too. read more

Monica sold our condo in Pasadena. She was amazing in so many ways. First, she got us a great price - above our original asking price. Second, she is expert in moving the sale process along quickly (which was important to us). Third, she guided us through the entire process and she handled everything professionally and expeditiously. Fourth, Monica is incredibly responsive and helpful. Whenever we had a question, she answered promptly and thoroughly. Fifth, Monica maximized the value and sale price by careful staging, which we never could have done on our own. Finally, Monica is a genuinely nice person, so we felt great about working with her. If you are going to buy or sell a house or condo in the Pasadena area, I wholeheartedly recommend Monica. You will have a terrific experience, she will maximize value for you and you will end up pleased at how smooth the process can be. Monica is simply the best! read more
