I paid $45 for gas at the self-checkout, but when I went to pump, no gas came out. Naturally, I was upset. Joel, who was the only employee present, told me to cancel the transaction and assured me the money would be refunded to my account. I waited, but the refund never appeared. When I followed up with him, he responded with an attitude and said, "Well, it isn't instantaneous." I then asked if he could apply the payment to a different pump, but he claimed he couldn't. After waiting a bit longer, I called and asked to speak to a manager--he said he was the manager. I told him, "I need gas. I already paid. What am I supposed to do?" and shockingly, he replied, "Do you not have any money left?" His customer service was terrible, and his attitude was completely unprofessional. In the end, I had to pay another $45 just to get gas--on top of the $45 I had already paid.

Pump areas are generally kept clean and are regularly steam-cleaned to prevent oil stains from accumulating. You can't tell from looking at the station data, or from Google/Apple maps, that the station sells "clear gas" at its pumps. Clear gas should not only be used in boat engines, but the absence of methanol makes it the perfect fuel base for any small motor device like a generator, chain saw, tree pruner, weed eater, brush grinders, etc. (Ethanol rots the rubber seals in these devices.) I'd suggest that the availability of clear gas be made known for all Maverik stations that have it available in the station metadata... such as on Yelp, Apple Maps, etc: that would save us a lot of time searching for it! Other suggestion: stop the video ads at the pump. They're very annoying.

The store was crowded, and as we made our way around the liquor aisle to reach the beverage section, an employee, whom we estimate to be in her mid-to-late 50s with black hair, yelled at us, stating, "Stop looking at the liquor and get your drinks and get out of the store!" We were shocked, uncomfortable, and deeply offended by the way we were addressed. While other customers were browsing throughout the store without being rushed or questioned, we felt that we were being singled out and treated as though we had done something wrong simply by being there. As my friend and I proceeded to check out, our third friend was getting a fountain drink. The employee then called out to another employee, stating, "The other one is at the fountain." This made us feel as though we were being watched and treated with suspicion despite having done nothing wrong. What made this experience particularly concerning was that we were the only people of color in the store, and we observed other white teenagers purchasing drinks without being subjected to the same treatment. As three Native college students, we could not help but question whether our race, age, or appearance influenced how we were treated. The interaction left us feeling unwelcome, stereotyped, and unfairly judged. We have never experienced this kind of treatment in Prescott before, and it is deeply disappointing to be treated this way in a community where everyone should feel welcome. We understand that employees have responsibilities to maintain a safe store environment, but those responsibilities should never justify singling out customers or making assumptions about them based on their appearance or racial identity. We are asking that management take this incident seriously, review what occurred, and address how employees interact with customers from diverse backgrounds. We also hope you will examine whether additional training is needed to ensure that all customers, including Native and other customers of color, are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. We deserve the same courtesy and respect as any other customers. We hope to receive a response explaining how this matter will be addressed and what steps will be taken to help prevent similar experiences in the future.

That's probably why the are 15c a gallon above standard prices in town. It's a small station with just 4 pumps, but they are modern. Likewise, Woody's store is small, but they have what you need and unlike the fuel prices they don't gouge you. The service is friendly too. They also have water & air so you can make sure you're road ready before heading out of Prescott.

This is a veryyy veryyy bad way to do business. For all of those angry- the Costco pharmacy answers their phone! I just can't switch this mth bc I'm having to transfer State to State.
