We've all been at that convenience store in the little Junction in the middle of nowhere. Typically, not always clean and the staff not always very friendly. Absolutely not the case here. The store, the bathrooms, the parking lot were spotless. The staff at the register greeted me with a smile. Overall a great experience when I wasn't expecting very much.

I paid $45 for gas at the self-checkout, but when I went to pump, no gas came out. Naturally, I was upset. Joel, who was the only employee present, told me to cancel the transaction and assured me the money would be refunded to my account. I waited, but the refund never appeared. When I followed up with him, he responded with an attitude and said, "Well, it isn't instantaneous." I then asked if he could apply the payment to a different pump, but he claimed he couldn't. After waiting a bit longer, I called and asked to speak to a manager--he said he was the manager. I told him, "I need gas. I already paid. What am I supposed to do?" and shockingly, he replied, "Do you not have any money left?" His customer service was terrible, and his attitude was completely unprofessional. In the end, I had to pay another $45 just to get gas--on top of the $45 I had already paid.

Problem with Roberts…read moreis on weekends they allow motor cycle gangs to hang out, stand around, smoke, cuss, gun their motor and being it is not just bikes, but truck/cars with loud exhausts and it appears no one inside cares. I watched the place a few night from across the road in the gravel lot and seen a half dozen vehicles pull in go to the pumps, get out, look around; not at the price, but at the number of people hanging around, and the got in their vehicles and left. I cannot understand why Roberts allows this....do cycles purchase that much fuel, I would imagine a lot of candy bars, cigarettes, etc, but fuel? I doubt it. And I wonder, are those cigarettes they are smoking? Yes, I could call the PV police; however, we all know who live in PV, the PV police are not, shall I say, the greatest PD. Sad part is if they did come out and hang around outside or Roberts, they could write a dozen or so ticket for excessive noise and speeding. Roberts is NOT a great neighbor for those living in Viewpoint, Point of View or even Pronghorn. Sad but true.

This Shell station is alright. It's small and old, but they keep the gas prices at the exact same…read morelevel as the least expensive gas pumps in the area. I'm used to seeing Shell prices at a few cents higher, or even jacked way up along the interstate or in other Northern AZ small towns, so that is a pleasant surprise. Likewise, the "Minute Mart" is tiny by current standards. I've never seen a smaller one anywhere. They do carry plenty of beverages, bottle and fountain, and they keep those prices low too. On a Friday afternoon they had no hot dogs on the tiny roller grill (which looked turned off) so if you needed a bite to eat you had to settle on bagged chips. The staff here are friendly and the store is well arranged. But in all candor, the place is filthy. There is grime everywhere, starting with the walkway outside, the floors inside, walls, doors, glass, displays... I was shocked. I decided not to use the restrooms as there is no way they could be better than the common areas. For me they get points for one thing: they have a No Caffeine/No Sugar beverage in their fountain. (SOBE) You might be surprised how hard it is to find this type of beverage anywhere in Prescott, whether restaurants, fast food, or convenience store. I'm usually forced to go with plain water. So, good on ya for that one, Shell.

There is absolutely nothing special or unique just be careful on how old the hot dogs are rolling in those metal tubes! Has it been an hour or two to three days (exaggeration but you get my point). They have breakfast sandwiches which again maybe good. Of course loads of sweet candy for those that enjoy their children to be hyper active on a road trip. These places do well in business so someone's buying more than a bottle or two of water , using the toilet while buying gas. Just nothing special.
