I paid $45 for gas at the self-checkout, but when I went to pump, no gas came out. Naturally, I was upset. Joel, who was the only employee present, told me to cancel the transaction and assured me the money would be refunded to my account. I waited, but the refund never appeared. When I followed up with him, he responded with an attitude and said, "Well, it isn't instantaneous." I then asked if he could apply the payment to a different pump, but he claimed he couldn't. After waiting a bit longer, I called and asked to speak to a manager--he said he was the manager. I told him, "I need gas. I already paid. What am I supposed to do?" and shockingly, he replied, "Do you not have any money left?" His customer service was terrible, and his attitude was completely unprofessional. In the end, I had to pay another $45 just to get gas--on top of the $45 I had already paid.

So it's relatively new. We were staying next door at the Motor lodge Inn. I thought I would grab a coffee from the Edison and that would be it, but I ended up going there 3 days in a row. This place is adorably remodeled with a retro vibe that is up to date. There is a seating area with electric outlets under each spot which I fully appreciated so I could do some work. The food is very good and the coffee even better. We went back for happy hour one afternoon and enjoyed a delicious $8 cocktail. Can't beat that. The market area itself is well done, nice bottles of wine & liquor with interesting snacks. I wish that my neighborhood had a place like this next door, I'd be there all the time. All in all, if you're in Prescott near the downtown courthouse area, take a drive up Montezuma to stop at the Edison Market, it's worth the visit.

Pump areas are generally kept clean and are regularly steam-cleaned to prevent oil stains from accumulating. You can't tell from looking at the station data, or from Google/Apple maps, that the station sells "clear gas" at its pumps. Clear gas should not only be used in boat engines, but the absence of methanol makes it the perfect fuel base for any small motor device like a generator, chain saw, tree pruner, weed eater, brush grinders, etc. (Ethanol rots the rubber seals in these devices.) I'd suggest that the availability of clear gas be made known for all Maverik stations that have it available in the station metadata... such as on Yelp, Apple Maps, etc: that would save us a lot of time searching for it! Other suggestion: stop the video ads at the pump. They're very annoying.

That's probably why the are 15c a gallon above standard prices in town. It's a small station with just 4 pumps, but they are modern. Likewise, Woody's store is small, but they have what you need and unlike the fuel prices they don't gouge you. The service is friendly too. They also have water & air so you can make sure you're road ready before heading out of Prescott.

Consistently this gentlemen has been seemingly irritated at just about any customer. doesn't say a word, and just shoos you away at the end of the transaction. Owed a couple cents, I thought I gave him the right change, and he just stared at me like I was an idiot, and didn't say a word. I get maybe having bad days, but there's no reason to be working at a cash register acting like that. (I honestly don't even think he counted that change)

I have ordered lunch there a couple times and it was really good. Burgers and the BLT are legit. No fries unfortunately, but they do have really good macaroni salad. They have house made breakfast burritos you can grab and nuke for the road if you are in a hurry. The staff are super friendly just like a neighborhood store should be. If you live in the neighborhood give them a try.
