What a find in the center of Winter Garden! Think vintage all the way, just check out the many pictures posted by folks and you get a sense of this old hotel, now turned Bed and Breakfast. What you don't experience is the kind care of the folks who work here. Let's start with CLEAN! Lots of surfaces, lots of wood, and it is all clean and so well maintained. Friendly: the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Always available if you need to call the lift or have a question. Rooms are all furnished with an individual style. Breakfast was great! Just let them know when you think you will head to the dining room and then you order off the menu. Everything we had was great and prepared just for us. My husband was particularly fond of the grits, ordering a double portion once he had tried them! Ip really enjoyed the Cinnamon Toast with Blueberry preserves. Location:Um, did I mention it is right in the midst of Winter Garden? Great spot for walking about and exploring. I also enjoyed grabbing a cup of coffee before breakfast and sitting out front near the Winter Garden fountain, so peaceful. They also have a designated parking lot next to the Inn for cars with tags (which you get a checkin). Highly recommend this spot. If you are put off by having separate hot and cold faucets, maybe pass this up, but if you want an experience and a great stay, definitely check it out and check in! read more

We recently stayed here because of the Spring Fever in the Garden Event. I wanted to stay in town and have full access with no parking issues. Also wanted a place for husband to crash if I kept him out too long. Th edgewater did not disappoint. The room was smaller than your typical hotel but very comfortable. We had access to everything we needed. The breakfast is included and you have several choices. It was delicious-made fresh with our order. One thing to understand is we were on the second floor-which took 18 steps or so to get up to. There is a sign with a phone number that you can call to get someone to bring the elevator at any time. They are great about it-no problem at all. We took the stairs most of the time-the exercise was great. While in town that are several great restaurants, a great bookstore, coffee shops, a plant shop and so much more. All the shops were open during the garden festival. I would stay here again without question. Wonderful hotel and wonderful people in my new favorite small town. read more

A true gem in downtown Winter Garden! Lila was gracious throughout our stay, from our arrival to breakfast before our departure. We loved learning about the abundant history of the hotel and enjoying the comfort of our well appointed room. It was all reminiscent of an earlier wonderful and slower paced era. Great staff they make you feel right at home. Beautiful views and very clean rooms. They use real dishes and glassware for breakfast and in the room. My only complaint is that the pool could be better equipped, lounge chairs were old and ripped and no shade, rough in the Florida heat. read more

We had a one-night stay at The Edgewater Hotel while visiting Winter Garden. Nestled into the heart of Downtown Winter Garden, we were pleased with the ability to park right next to the hotel and walk around to the shops and restaurants. It is a fun historic property that transported you back into time without sacrificing modern amenities. THE BREAKFAST IS WHERE IT IS AT. We had been traveling throughout Florida for the few days prior and had some sad lacking brown bag breakfasts at previous hotels. The Edgewater Hotel has a full-service breakfast where food off the menu is cooked to order. The Belgian Waffle was delicious! We know that if we are in the area again, The Edgewater Hotel will be our first choice to stay. read more

Lovely hotel! We have enjoyed our stay each time! The staff are all wonderful! When staying, one must remember that it is a historic hotel, and try not to be bothered by the historic plumbing fixtures. The location is perfect! Great historic hotel!! Staff is wonderful and efficient. The building is old so expect a small bathroom and not many electrical plugs but that goes with historic atmosphere. The breakfast is delicious and cooked to order. Very clean rooms and halls and they have snacks and soft drinks available at all hours! Right in the middle of town, we explored the Tasting Room. Food, craft cocktails and service was excellent. This was a wonderful stay. We felt like we stepped back in history with the photographs, furnishings, and elevator. The seating and breakfast area always had snacks, drinks, and a space for gathering and meeting new people. Breakfast was a full menu. There was an outside seating area for quiet and comfort. When we called for anything we needed, it was brought to our room with a smile! The location was walkable to shops and restaurants. Review #924. My wife and I had the pleasure of going in NC to the lobby of the Edgewater Hotel in downtown Wintergarden Florida. This place seemed to be the happening place in the 1920s when this hotel was in his heyday. Today it is still being utilized as a bed and breakfast. Since my wife and I were not guests we could not get past the lobby. But if you see some of the pictures that I have attached the lobby has been very well preserved to look like it was back in the 1920s. Absolutely beautiful building. I for one am very glad that this historical building has been preserved. We live in a time and in an area where it's very easy to tear something down and put up something brand new in its place. We need to remember our history. In the city of Winter Garden is doing a wonderful job in keeping his past alive. If you live in Florida and you want to take a day trip, I definitely recommend Downtown Winter Garden. read more

If you are looking for a getaway in the heart of a quant town (Winter Garden) this is the place for you. The Edgewater provides a stay at home feel while on vacation. It is a bed and breakfast with snacks, old style keys and an elevator operator with rooms above Scoops ice cream. If you are not ready for dessert, on Friday nights you can listen to music at the gazebo which you can hear from the front door, go across the street to Attic Door and you have music on almost every night with a friendly staff and great food or walk down to Hangry Bison for a burger, bourbon or beer for Thursday night acoustics. If you want late night music check out Pilar's. This is the only hotel in the hear of Winter Garden and while it is well worth the price, you may also find a deal. A guest from out of town stayed in a two room suite Saturday and Sunday night for about $180 a night. Yes it was a steal. And don't forget about the best Farmer's Market in Florida on Saturday's is a block down the street. read more

My two friends and I stayed one night at the Edgewater just for a few hours away from the norm. This is now my go to place for rest and relaxation. The uniqueness of the building and the contents is worth a trip. The rooms are decorated to keep the look and feel of the early days . I can't stop telling everyone how much we loved The Edgewater Hotel. The whole downtown area of Winter Garden is like stepping into a past era (Mayberry?) and this hotel made our visit even better - the icing on the cake. The vintage decor is beautiful, Hanna and her staff are so friendly and customer-focused, and the homemade sit-down breakfast still puts a smile on my face. The Historic Edgewater Hotel was such a blessing to my wife and I throughout our four night stay. The staff was gracious, helpful and friendly. The hotel was in the heart of Winter Garden making it convenient to access the bike trail, restaurants and shopping. Parking was never a problem and just outside the hotel. The entire hotel was charming and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was wonderful each morning and provided a chance to meet other guests and staff. A great old hotel in a historic small town. This was our first time staying here and it will be one of many. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with local information and tips. Hotel is located within historic Winter Garden which provided food, drink, treats, and activity. We had a full size bed and single for our daughter. It felt like a good night sleep at Grandmas. You set an expected breakfast time in the morning and sit family style with other guest. Breakfast is made fresh to order with juice or coffee. Living area provides drinks and snacks for all guest. I also read a review about water pressure but we didn't have any issues with that or water temperature. Tip: elevator is the original crank lever which requires the staff to operate. We ended up using the stairs most times. read more

I love the retro/vintage charm and character of this place. If you are looking for a big-box/chain hotel (with all the appeal of a cookie cutter experience), this is not the place for you. Ditto if you are looking for "luxury" or a pool. They don't have those.... But if you're like me and want to experience a comfortable, clean, and friendly (they remembered me from my last visit over a year ago!) stay with a delicious prepared-to-order breakfast (pancakes and bacon!), come to the Edgewater! It's like the best parts of staying at Grandma's house - the funky furniture, creaky stairs, and friendly faces at breakfast, without the awkward conversations about your job or love life, and without the risk of encountering your weird uncle in his underwear in the kitchen. Plus you're downtown WG, with a dedicated parking space (a valuable commodity). And the renovations of the 2nd floor lobby/dining area are awesome! The Edgewater is a delight! Read the reviews, then book your stay. Free parking right at the hotel. Walk to everything. (Definitely try the cupcake shop. Amazing!) You can access the 22-mile rail trail literally in front of the building. The hotel is charming, comfortable, with high cielings, architectural interest, many bowls of candy (nice touch!). The breakfast is excellent. You can eat in the dining room or they will bring it to your room if you are Covid anxious, as we were. There's even a barber shop, Thai restaurant and ice cream shop in the same building. We had room #212, filled with antiques, high cielings and three enormous windows that bathed the room in light. Fantastic B&B. We stayed two nights. Beautifully restored hotel with wonderful owners and staff. Breakfast was great with good choices. Snacks and coffee are always available. Bike rental places are right down the street for use on the West Orange Trail which runs through the center of town. You will not go wrong here. Quaint downtown is easily walkable with assorted shops and restaurants. Get away from the frenetic pace of Orlando by coming to a small town. read more
