Just had the most unbelievably delicious meal at The Edge in Jackson. Food was outstanding. Only surpassed by the service. I had the halibut with the gigante bean puree. My husband had the hangar steak. His was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant. We went for our Anniversary dinner. And cannot wait to go back. Had an amazing dinner here! The ambience/appearance is gorgeous, unbeatable in the area; the tables are reclaimed wood. The menu uses some local ingredients. I had a fall salad, which was sweet and very well dressed, and the mushroom ravioli, which was rich and creamy and delicious. My mom had the Filet Mignon, which was one of the best I've ever had (and her too)! Highly recommended for a nice night out. read more

I was there last night. Had a 7:30 PM reservation for a party of 8. Arrived at 7:20 and was told they were a little behind tonight. At 7:45 we were told they were preparing our table. At 8:00 we checked to see why we weren't called in yet and we were told that they had made a mistake and the table they said was ours was actually for another party. The greeter told us that we should probably leave to go elsewhere if we weren't prepared to wait since she had no idea when a table would become available. Where do you go with a party of 8 on a Saturday night at 8:00 PM without reservations? We were finally seated at about 8:15 PM. People were actually getting up and leaving without ordering or before their food was served because of the terrible service and wait times. The manager seemed to be spending his time apologizing to guests as they complained to him but nothing was done to correct the situations. Our waitress was obviously overwhelmed with the amount of tables assigned to her. She did eventually make it over to us and took our drink, appetizers and entrée order at once. After waiting over a half an hour we asked one of the busboys for water and bread. He was very annoyed but said he'd be back. Twenty minutes later we complained to the manager about the lack of service and poor attitudes we encountered so far and he gave us an earful about how impossible it is now to hire help since people are now making more money to stay at home. But 10 minutes later we did get water and bread. Our drink orders arrived maybe 15 minutes later. Our appetizers arrived warn, not hot but they were tasty. When out entrees arrived the server had no idea who's meal was for who. Five of us ordered Filet Mignon. Three medium, one medium well and one well. None of the plates were marked. The server said he would be happy to bring them all back to the kitchen but we decided we would be better served to slice each one to see which was well done and which was medium well. Once again, No Apology. The busboy assigned to our table never once came to remove an empty glass or plate. The waitress had to do it all. The entrees were all warm, not hot. The mash potatoes were actually cold. The only employee we encountered last night that I think was doing her job to the best of her ability was the waitress. Upon leaving the manager approached us and said he was sorry for the issues we had and the next time we come in he would "Take Care" of us. Guess What? There won't be a next time!! If you know you don't have enough employees available to cover then why do you take so many reservations? How about you strapping on an apron and start helping out the staff by bring over drinks to the tables or helping with food delivery? Or how about at least getting the busboys to do their jobs? As far as the food goes, the food was tasty but warm and took forever to be served. If they had enough servers the food would probably have been hot but I guess it was prepared and plated and just sitting in the kitchen waiting to be picked up. NEVER AGAIN read more

I was looking forward to trying this new restaurant. I thought we were lucky to get reservations at 8pm on a Saturday night. We arrived early around 7pm and fIgured we'd have some drinks at the bar while waiting. The atmosphere was beautiful. We also noticed that the restaurant was empty and they still would not seat us. We were not impressed with the selections of wine and the one that we did chose was so expensive. The bartender appeared to ignore us or be to busy to help us. After racking up a $90 bar bill on 6 drinks (4 beers and 2 wines) waiting for our table, we were finally seated. They would not transfer our bar tab to the meal tab and we had to close out that bill before they sat us. The menu was limited, maybe because it was a new restaurant at the time. The portions were small, but we the food tasted good. This was one of the most expensive meals I've had in NJ! I was hoping for a better experience and don't think a restaurant like this will make it in the area. read more

Soft opening. Saturday night. We knew what to expect. Spicy Veal Meatballs and Polenta were probably one of the highlights. Our waiter was quite obviously nervous and somewhat rehearsed. Wine service was all kinds of wrong, but the selection and variety of spirits was great. Entrees were good and we enjoyed our meal even if there were some minor issues. We never felt rushed or neglected. Complimentary Prosecco along with the chocolate mousse and housemade gelato and apple turnover ended the evening quite nicely. Hopefully they will work out the kinks and a very successful. We are looking forward to returning when they have a full menu. read more

Truly disappointed with the cocktail prices. Ordered a martini and they serve it in a small and I mean small martini glass that was not filled to the top and charged you $15 which is what NYC will charge in a regular martini glass. The food was bland and this was definitely not an Asian fusion cuisine. Will not go back because I was totally turned off by the way the cocktail was served. I do not mind paying $15, but you better give me a regular martini glass not a small one not filled to the rim. Food was served cold and not at all something I would rave about. First of all, its barely busy here and Ive waited over an hour and 15 minutes for my appetizer. Then, we would have had to wait even longer for the actual food (we had to leave since it was over 2 hours at this point). The service sucks and the food is mediocre at best. The place was freezing and the portions of the appetizers are small (the mint pesto sauce is good though lol). "Backed up" LMAO bs. How is a bar backed up? How is a kitchen backed up SO much? I'm confused. I looked around and everyone else looks almost as mad as me right now. Imagine waiting really long for your food and then only 3 of the 4 meals come out... that is ridiculous. If you have a LOT of time to waste, this is your place. If not, do not come its not worth it. read more

Finally a restaurant in the area that is a drink and food experience . Top shelf options and well made cocktails. The servers were attentive and the ambience is great. The appetizers came out a bit on the warm side, but our server apologized and ensured our entrees would be hot. He kept to that and our main dishes were delicious! Went on Sunday evening for an early Thanksgiving dinner with the family since we will not be able to spend it together Thursday... The restaurant is really pretty inside and outside. The servers were very nice and professional. The food was DELICIOUS! The owner or manager came over to make sure everything was perfect and he even gave us free dessert and Prosecco! Price was fitting for the suburb food but I gave it three stars only due to the fact I come from NY and entertain in Manhattan and his cocktail prices were way out of line with the location. Went here the other night What a beautiful building. Done in such nice taste. The only thing is the food. Not what I expected of a high end restaurant. There was only about ten items for entree and those ten items should have knocked your socks off but they really did not. I understand they just opened so hopefully it gets better. read more

This place is such a hidden gem. We came after our sons birthday safari trip at Great Adventure, it was close by and we couldn't be more impressed. We travel and go to all different kinds of restaurants, and the vibe and ambiance that this place gives off is unmatched. The service was impeccable, shout out to Courtney who knocked it out of the park, and even the bus boys and food runners were fantastic. Our drinks were always full, which were absolutely delightful, and the food - WHERE did they get these chefs? Amazing! Even our sons chicken fingers were awesome. The owner is so personable, Hafid, we saw him greet and talk to every customer - top of the line customer service. The lamb lollipops and filet were the best ever. Everything from the floor to the ceiling to the bathroom to the music to the people who make this beauty run, we cannot say enough and we will be back for many years to come. Salut! read more

My wife and I enjoyed our first visit to The Edge. I had a tasty pork chop and my wife Halibut which she rated as excellent. The owner was very friendly and the waiters were pleasant. I was excited to try The Edge as I live locally and was happy to see a steakhouse open up. I visited The Edge last winter but my experience, before I even sat down, was negative. The hostess escorted us to our table and before I got my kids settled in and before I even took off my coat, asked that I remove my winter hat. (Um, yea I don't plan on wearing a winter hat inside during dinner, can I get myself settled in please). Right off the bat I was annoyed. There were limited options for kids so my son went with a cheese burger and my daughter a bowl of pasta. I went with some steak since there was no ribeye on the menu at the time (really??!!). My steak was good, my wife's scallops were good but the portion was small. My daughters pasta, which was some style of wide noodles was very mushy and nasty. She couldn't eat it. My sons burger was terrible and tasted rancid. I told the waitress the burger meat was terrible and tasted rancid. She asked the Chef and learned the burger was "dry aged" but shouldn't have tasted rancid. I later learned from a chef friend of mine that if the rancid (dry aged) part of the meat wasn't completely trimmed before grinding it up for the burger, it would have that rancid taste. When I say horrific, it was horrific. They didn't charge us for the burger and offered us free dessert for that burger experience. Our night ended with us taking the kids directly from The Edge to McDonalds so they could eat. What a terrible experience and a terrible way to end the night. I haven't been back since and don't plan on it. It's such a shame. read more

Far overdue for the area, The Edge offers great food, atmosphere and service. We have dined as well as sat at the bar numerous times to date and the experience continues to improve. All dishes that both myself and guests have had were of excellent quality, presentation and taste. The Edge is now our go to place in the area. Me and my husband came in on Valentine's with another couple. This restaurant is SO beautiful. I was impressed with how simple but yet majestic the doors were. They opened to a full view of the restaurant. There's a see through fireplace and two half walls with waterfalls. We were waiting for our friends so the beautiful hostess took us to a lounge area where you can see the entire restaurant from above. We were approached by the owners twice to see if we needed anything. I thought that was so nice how hands on they were and how observant they are of what's happening in their new business. The drinks were very good. Our meals were excellent. We didn't order appetizers. We ordered the half chicken, salmon, and two of us ordered spaghetti carbonara. The spaghetti needed a little bit more lobster but other than that the food was spot on! For dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse, creme brûlée and coffee. The dessert was fabulous and the coffee was good, however, there was no cream for the coffee for some reason. Overall, it's so amazing and we wish this restaurant all the best. Our Dinner Club checked out The Edge this past Saturday night. Since it was my turn to pick our destination. I was a little concerned about choosing a restaurant that had just opened weeks before. Credit to the management who made it very clear they were still under a "soft opening". There was definitely areas where that was evident. Little things like not getting our bread until our meals arrived. Not having come specific brand alcohol (we ran out). Jimmy our waiter was excellent and rolled with the punches. The menu was somewhat limited, but again that was disclosed prior to arriving. The atmosphere and decor are top notch and definitely above anything you would expect in Jackson, NJ. Food was acceptable and with future menu additions I would expect that to move up a few notches. Apple strudel for dessert and a cappuccino (didn't have "they ran out"?). A return is definitely in our future. read more

We tried The Edge for the first time last week. My wife and I both enjoyed the experience very much. They have a very nice wine list, and a good selection of wines by the glass. While my wife started with a glass of white wine, I had a Manhattan which was made perfectly. There was plenty of time to enjoy the cocktail. We weren't rushed. We weren't suddenly served our first course two minutes after our drinks arrived. To start we shared the pan seared scallops which were excellent. I wanted to try a pasta as the next course but my wife wasn't interested in sharing one with me. I asked if I could do a half order. They said it wasn't something they offer, but agreed. I had a half order of the mushroom stuffed ravioli, which was very good, but very rich and a half order was five good sized ravioli. I ate four and was worried I wouldn't be able to eat my main course. My wife had halibut and I had salmon. We both loved it. After with coffee with shared an apple strudel. I will definitely return. It is expensive for Jackson. But the food is farm to table. Expertly prepared and although it doesn't fit everyone's budget, it is worth the price. Try it! read more

Was hoping to have a special dinner for my moms 80th birthday. Went to the Edge for a 6:00 pm seating with 7 guests. The place is very nice and the servers are very good but have too many tables. The food was fine but portions are small for the price. My fillet was ordered medium but served well done. Surprisingly it still was good. We had brought a cake and gave it to the manager for dessert but it never came out after our dinner. We notified the manager and reminded her but 45 minutes later it still never came. We finally asked for the cake back as we had finished our coffee and after dinner drinks and had to celebrate at home. I feel the manager needs to get more involved with the customers as would any higher end restaurant. Not once did she come by and ask us about our meal or service. I guess she must be a relative. I also believe the owner should be involved and introduce himself on a Saturday night. Sorry but don't see this place making it without paying attention to details. The restaurant industry is a tough business and word of mouth is critical to success. I wish them luck because they will need it. read more
