Back again for Burger Night with friends. I chose something new - the Cowboy Burger and it was very tasty. Two people in our party chose Burger Specials while two others chose the Chicken Burger. As usual, The Edge does a great job with Burger Night and the fries were excellent (although a little skimpy) as they usually are. This restaurant is stunning upon arrival. Unique architecture and dimly lit high-end feel, giving an opportunity to dress up! Attentive and nice service. Food was delicious, truly. Nice cocktail, wine, and beer selection. Calamari appetizer (sadly forgot to take a photo) was perfect for sharing amongst 2-4 people. Tender bites (rings and tentacles - I prefer) with a perfectly light, crispy coating. Tasty. Both the scallops & risotto were honestly some of the best I've ever had (and I order this often at seafood joints). Sweet meat, large size, crisped atop. The risotto was creamy and very flavorful (subtle white wine) with mushrooms and spinach throughout. The salmon piece that I tasted was very soft and fresh. My party seemed satisfied. Although I've had better crème brûlée, no real complaints. Nice crispy torched top. Texture was a little thicker than I like and the chill needed to come down to room temp more. It was pretty vacant prime time on a Saturday night, so I really hope things turn around. This area of NJ is severely lacking fine dining, so this spot is much needed. It has been well over a year since our last visit to this restaurant. Previously we had large sit down dinners that were always excellent. But, tonight we decided to do their Wednesday burger night at the bar and we were pleased with the results. Really delicious burgers cooked perfectly just as ordered. Along with the burgers included was a couple of excellent glasses of French wine and a side of really nice French fries for a very decent price of $22 each. Still the very lovely ambience and professional service that is their hallmark. Glad we finally made it back here and we will do it again soon. Highly recommended! read more

Hubby, kids and I came here not toooo long ago to celebrate special events, work promotions and birthdays. Due to work schedules and shifts, so when we do, it is something we look forward to, so in this case was Son's promotion, my birthday, DIL new career and Mini-Me's job promotion and Hubby's new position, so lot's of celebrating, dinner is special when the moon, stars and planets align for us! So we made reservations and when we arrived we were sat at a table by the server station in the back where the singers /musical entertainment is above you to your right. We had our menus and were going over the appetizers and placing our beverage orders- Son ordered IPA, Mini-Me - Bay Breeze, I had Wine - Hubby Moscow Mule, DIL- Wine. Water for all Appetizers to share: Escargot, Meatballs, Lamb Pops and the Burrata Salad Our server came back and said the wine I wanted and the IPA our son wanted wasn't in stock, this happens so he ordered a Blue Moon and I ordered a basic red, honestly it wasn't a deal breaker for me. Our server came back with our drinks and as he leaned over, he spilled our Mini-Me's drink & son' beer down our sons back, on the chair, floor and he was wearing a white shirt, not so good. A mop was brought out and a rag.... ok, nothing was said by staff. Odd and awkward. Spilled beer and drink replaced Placed our entree orders and sat kinda quiet for a bit till our server came back- with Apps- great apps! Anyway, it was at this point, as apps are being delivered, and well after the replacement of the initial beer and drink fiasco, we figured it best to ask for another round (figure better now than later because our server kept disappearing and dinner would be arriving soon.. Dinner arrives--Sons Burger was more than medium rare, it was rare! didn't have bacon (they were out), (might have told him this when he ordered)- DIL burger was over cooked-burnt, Hubby had the Filet it was cooked well but for whatever reason- it really looked like a strip and not a filet, Mini-Me's filet was well done, not med rare but well done!!! she just had a few bites, you can't undo "well done". Me - I had a salad and the apps (not eating big that night) Well, our "round" never made it to our table, and at this point dinner was over, we all drank our water (probably better for us ) and we were ready to just go... No, How was dinner? Oh sorry I forgot your round of drinks! can I get them now? Can I get you any to-go boxes? Would you like to see the dessert menu? nope, nada, nunca We asked for the check and when hubby looked, there wasn't even a comp on the beer or drink that our son, had worn through dinner service....not that it's necessary, but if you spill drinks on someone, usually the manager or server will at least say something. Tonight we came here for a Christmas Eve dinner. I ordered a simple dish of chicken fontina. Others at my table ordered twin lobster tails, steak and pork chops. The chicken came out cold along with all the vegetables and ice cold mashed potatoes. Veggies and rice with the lobsters tails were also cold. We told the waiter and he took the chicken plate back. 15 mins later the same plate comes back with no mushrooms cheese melted all over the plate, the potatoes smashed on the plate in a puddle of cheese. They never served a new dish, they reheated the food and threw it back on the plate minus the mushrooms as if it was already eaten. Waiter says he is taken off the bill. No problem. I decided to take my mom to this restaurant for Mother's Day. I made reservations and when I arrived I parked in the lot. I walked in and was greeted. The restaurant was so nice! We sat close to the bar, and Karl was our server, and he was great! My mom already had champagne, and it was tasty. We had an amazing lunch, the drunken clams were so delicious I took home the sauce, it was too good to throw away. Hopefully, u like it hot because that's what they were, especially the biscuits that came with the clams. You would expect a nice wind up like "Hey, have you guys been here before, oh no? Well let me tell you a little bit our menu". Something basic like they do at a chain restaurant like Outback Steakhouse. Nope. We got a "Hey how are you doing? Here are the specials. What can I get cha?" Bread literally took 30 minutes to come out. My fiance had already finished her appetizer by the time it came out. Food took 60 minutes to come out. Again, there was 6 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Disappointing. Food was good and seemed fresh. We didn't order anything extravagant. Same level as diner food would be in my opinion. You are definitely paying for the ambience which is very nice, however, if you want a specific seat like by the waterfalls that come down the glass, I guess you have to either let them know in advance or make a reservation or something. Would have been nice, but we got seated next to a big table filled with kids. They had a live singer there which was AWESOME! That was the best part of the experience. The Edge is a regular favorite of mine. The bar is so chic and you can definitely dress up or down is acceptable. We go Thursday nights when an incredible Guitar player Frankie Chicala whos really a pro performs regularly. The service is great, menu fabulous, atmosphere amazing! I wanted to update my review out of fairness. We popped in last week for an early drink and something to eat. My husband wanted to give it another shot, since it's so close to our home. Same vast and somewhat empty space, but understandable as it was 5pm on a Tuesday. I had a nice Hendricks Gin & Tonic, my husband had two Manhattans, made by two different bartenders. The second one was far and away better than the first. Happy to see the ceviche did not survive the menu. Front of house is still friendly and attentive. We ordered calamari, it was nice and crisp, plenty of "legs", my favorite part. We each got a steak, they were cooked to our specifications, a nice mid-rare. Both tender and flavorful. Much better experience the second time around. Not running back, but will remember it should we be struggling with where to go. read more

I came here for dinner , as soon as I came in I was hit in the face with this awful fishy smell which really turned me off but I stayed in hope the food will make up for it ! I ordered a mango margarita, which was okay didn't really taste much of the mango flavor , tasted more like a regular margarita. For an appetizer I got the calamari frito, which wasn't bad but would of preferred it to be a bit crispier! I also don't think the plate it came was the best plate for it. Maybe a bowl. For my entree I ordered the tagliatelle with chicken which came to about $27 , the pesto flavor tasted a bit diluted , as it was hard to really get the pesto flavor. The grilled chicken was good , tasted fresh. The server was very nice and check in on us to make sure everything was going good. So overall I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back here , but not a bad place for a first date or gather with friends. My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and it was wonderful! First of all, it is SO nice inside (and looks good outside too!). My husband got the 'Lovers Quarrel' for a drink and I got the 'Cupids Kiss'... both were quite good! Very fruity, not overly alcoholic. My husband ordered the Pork Chops with a side of mashed potatoes. He said they were so juicy, seasoned well and the best pork chops he's ever had. The mashed potatoes were super buttery and just melt in your mouth delicious. I ordered the Tagatelle pasta. I'm normally not a HUGE fan of Pesto, it's good but not something I'm really drawn to... but this pesto was great! I think it was pesto mixed with alfredo (or at least that's what it tasted like!) so creamy! The portions were a great size. A lot of these upscale places skimp on the food, not this place. My husband ordered a Chocolate Tart with a rum toffee sauce. They gave it another name order than Chocolate Tart but essentially that's what it was and I ordered the Crème Brulee... once again, everything was delicious. The service was great. They kept filling up our waters, checking to make sure everything was okay. The waitress was super friendly and informative. Yes, it was quite pricy but like I said, the portions are good and the food tastes great. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for special occasions if nothing else. Elegant atmosphere, great food friendly staff. The Edge is hidden away in the heart of Jackson. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and very clean. I decided to do an apps only meal, It turned out to be a great idea. I tried the seared scallops, the fried calamari, and the gnocchi with short ribs. Everything was very good and after sampling this wonderful appetizers, I left full, leaving no room for dessert. Due to Covid they have a limited menu but with many good choices. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I came here for Valentine's Day andI will start out with the good about this restaurant - the decor is nice, staff is friendly and the appetizers and drinks were really good. We had the scallops and lamb lollipops appetizers both of which were very tasty. We had several "Lovers Quarrel cocktails" and "wake up call" espresso martinis. Both of which were amazing and strong. They also gave roses to each lady on Valentine's Day which was a nice touch! The downsides were the entrees, the way they cook the filet mignon is subpar compared to other establishments. Also the service is extremely slow. And not slow like the waiters are busting their asses trying to stay on top of all their tables but slow like - you can't find a waiter waiting on pretty much anyone. Wooow....so, to be clear, I love this place. The managers and the waitstaff are always so sweet and solicitous every time I'm there. They're always willing to fix what's wrong when I bring it to their attention. They are amazing. But...the consistency of the food . After going there several times, I've found it's a 'May the odds be ever in your favor' situation. Sometimes it's exquisite. Sometimes I wish I'd gone to Five Guys. I used to love their Edge Burger, with blue cheese, medium-rare. I gave up trying to order it because it would never be right. I try to support restaurants during the pandemic with takeout orders. Remember when Joe Pesci said, "They screw you in the drive-thru?" Also applies to take out. Now, every time I brought it back, they'd fix it...but why did I have to get home, take off everything, get ready to sit down to eat, find out it's wrong, and have to call and drive all the way back? Not cool. So this brings us to today's lament: I gave up on my beloved burger, figured I'd go for the steak. Steak is easier, maybe? It's certainly more expensive. I just added a pic of an allegedly 'medium rare' Prime Delmonico Rib Steak. There is no way on this green earth that that was a medium-rare steak. The spinach was great. So great I think it may be doubled for the chimichurri sauce, WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY GREAT!!!! I am so confused. My husband wondered why such a high-end restaurant wouldn't make fresh french fries rather than frozen from a bag. As he put it, "There's no way it's cheaper to reheat frozen fries from Costco than cut up fresh potatoes and fry them." Yeah, it was a sad meal, cuz we spent $96 in total. The jumbo shrimp and scallops appetizers were delicious tho. I am not trying to be hurtful or mean. I know there are off nights, and I know we're in a pandemic. But DAMN! The Edge is a very upscale lounge / fine dining steakhouse right in Jackson, NJ. One might ask why it was built where it was built because Jackson is otherwise a very blue-collar and middle-class town. But apparently there was a need for it, and they were busy the night we went. It is a nice alternative for people in northern Ocean and southern Monmouth County to go out for a sophisticated night without having to schlep in to Asbury Park or Red Bank. They also must draw from Southern Monmouth, too. They have plenty of parking, too, so it's convenient. ATMOSPHERE. The atmosphere is really beautiful and bold. They made a very large investment in the building. We were seated at a larger round the table by the front door. Normally, I don't like to be right by the door, but it was a nice big table. My friends liked it. We also had a very nice view of everyone entering for people watching. FOOD. Generally, the food was very bold and delicious. It should be noted that the chicken and the salmon don't come with any sides, which some of my friends remarked about. But that's also normal at a more fine dining steakhouse. The waitress also told us upfront, so that there was no surprise, and I appreciated that. Our steaks were all cooked exactly the way we ordered them, which is remarkable. We all noticed that the char on the steaks was extra salty. People tell me that my cooking is too salty, and it even bothered me slightly. But it wasn't so salty that it ruined the flavor altogether. The contrast of the char on the outside and the meat combined with the juiciness on the inside made it really delicious. It should be noted that my buddy had his ribs served cold, and I mean cold. But they corrected the problem right away. DRINKS. Only two of us got cocktails. My one buddy got a Mojito, which he liked. I ordered an old-fashioned, which is a trendy drink right now, and I was expecting it to be made very well at a place like this. It turns out it just tasted like it would at any dive bar. So I was disappointed in that, and it's hard for me to give 5 stars. SERVICE. But the thing that took away from the experience the most was how quick the bussers and the waitress were in removing the plates. It repeatedly happened throughout the evening, but I had one or more bussers try to remove my plate before the drink or the meal was done. On one occasion I was even still eating from the plate when the busser asked me if he could take it away. I actually found myself snapping on him, "no!" Then, I noticed that my drink was taken away after I told two other batteries before that I didn't want it to be taken away, and there was still something left in it. We discussed the issue of removing the plates at the table amongst ourselves, and a better way to think about it is that they were trying to turn the tables efficiently so that more people could come in after us. Some other people said they prefer slightly more attentive service than wait staff that ignored you completely. They also seemed on-top-of-things. I still feel that they did not achieve the proper balance between efficiency and making us relax and enjoy our meal. And they should've listened when I made it a serious point that I did not want my plates to be taken away until I gave the green light. So, four stars instead of five. OVERALL. But, overall the edge is an excellent place for a date night. There's great people watching, and they have delicious steaks. The building is very beautiful. read more

The food is $$$ but well worth it, I'm happy I can taste the work of a chef near home. I was not too hungry and I decided to go there with my wife and 2 friends, we order 2 beers and 2 mixed drinks, no appetizer. Then we order a Cesar salad with shrimp, hamburger, 2 kinds of pasta and at the end 2 desserts. The bar was backed up and we had to wait even for our drinks . The bread was brought out after the appetizer and was not fresh. This was our first experience eating at a restaurant in our new COVID-19 world. After 3 months of take out only it was nice to be able to sit (outdoors) at a restaurant. We made a reservation for 5:30 since that was all that was available prior to 8:30pm. Our visit was The Edge's first night reopening since closing due to the COVID-19 shutdown. The outdoor tables were adequately spaced to ensure social distancing and the umbrella was fine for keeping the mist off of us but would not work well during heavy precipitation. There is a larger tented area in the back, as well. The whole dining out with PPE and distancing is going to be a learning curve for staff and guests. Most guests wore masks as they walked to the hostess stand and their tables. There were a few that did not and walked within inches of our table. The table next to us recommended to the manager to move the tables closer to the building a foot or two to allow servers more room to stand. The food was very good and I was impressed with the portion size for my seafood paella. Drinks were $12-14 each and we're mad well but you can run up your bill quickly. Jackson is lucky to have such a nice steakhouse in our area. The restaurant is beautiful inside with a central bar that is well stocked with a quality wine and spirit collection. The cocktails are also well constructed and delicious. The food is always well prepared, we order the standards, wedge salad, steaks and lobster...typically.
