I took photos to send to a friend and was trying not to cry. Angel checked on me and encouraged me to come out if I was comfortable. I came out in the next outfit and even though I wasn't happy in it, I loved the feel and the color. She handed me a belt, and a scarf to try. I felt like I was being choked by the scarf so she handed me a thinner scarf. I took photos of those options and sent all the outfits to my friend. With my friend and Angel's encouragement I settled on the last outfit. I had been hesitant to even try on the outfit due to the cost, but it turned out to be 50% off. Even if it hadn't been, I would have splurged. Nobody helps you shop like this anymore, and most clothes fall apart. You get what you pay for. Im trying to learn to accept my new size, and the new way my body interacts with the world with all its limitations. Angel truly made me feel as comfortable as I possibly could during a very vulnerable situation. Yes, they are just clothes, but my body has been through so much 15 months, including multiple surgeries, and subsequent complications. Yesterday the thought of going out to buy a dress made me want to crawl into a hole, and today I left Lark with everything I needed for an evening to celebrate my birthday.

It was the perfect dress that I had been looking for the last week since I had a special event. Inside the store, they had an assortment of clothing, wonderful smelling perfume, and accessories. My friends bought perfume and hair accessories. I ended up buying this wonderful dress. I kept thinking about how I loved this store's collection/style of clothing and affordable prices that I decided to drag my husband to come to Bainbridge Island again the next week! I found another dress upon my second visit for $35. He stepped outside to get reception and when he returned, she says "back again, I see". He met up with me towards the back wanting to leave and then she came up to ask if she could hold our items up at the front, I guess because she thought we were in cahoots. The whole thing is extra hilarious because we could easily afford to buy the entire store 4x over. Then this guy tells me they're opening up another store in McKenna. Are you kidding me? You need to curate it to be appealing. Not look like a garage sale. This place could be so nice in the center of Old Town. Yelm. But instead it's a junk hole. So disappointing. My advice to you is to completely re-merchandise it and set it up completely differently. Subsequently, I lost some interest since I don't live nearby. While I was in Ballard on a recent Sunday, I rushed to the market to see if it was still open. Officially, it was not; they closed at 2pm. But they were still packing up. I believe they are not allowed to sell after the official closing time; I asked one vendor, they declined. The staff wants the streets to reopen as soon as possible. As I walked the two blocks, several vendors still have some items on display on their tables. With a bit of wink, wink, accidentally dropping cash on the table and accidentally taking things off the table, I walked away with goodies. I won't say what I bought to avoid anyone getting into trouble. Street parking was easy enough nearby on a Sunday.

After sampling several fiery hot sauces and marinades it was refreshing to be able to order and consume an ice-cold craft beer from McMillin Farms brewery on-site. My friend is a customer there. This was the opposite at this store. After being passed off to the manager by a sales associate, she asked us if "we were there to buy shoes". Is this store a front for something else? What did she think we were in there for? I felt like we had to apologize for walking into the store. We were made to feel as if we were bothering them. Perhaps the employees could be taught to act happy or glad that we walked in. Perhaps they could engage in friendly conversation with customers. Suggest something! This could and should start with the manager. Who knows, with a little different attitude by these store employees, we might have bought something in this store. The store was filled with totally awesome mid century items. There were a ton of beautiful "atomic" looking lamps that you don't see just anywhere at all. The store was split in two which was slightly odd but we went to a different door and saw more great merchandise. There was even a modest vinyl record selection for sale with some really great albums. Upon entering I talked I believe with the owner or one of them and we had a very fun conversation talking about Italian Art Glass, specifically Murano Art Glass. I wrote these type of items in a registry at the door where it was requested along with my name in hopes of seeing it turn up here. This was a really great place and feel like the owner(s) have a really good eye for what they will stock which apparently comes from estate sales. So yes, I am surprised to see this place closed if it is so but at the same time I'm not as the placement of this kind of store I am not so sure the surrounding area of Lakewood would appreciate it or buy from here. It would have been a better fit in Seattle due to it's quirkiness which people in that city have a much deeper appreciation for. So sad to see they are gone because what they had going on here was great!

I also never thought about investing in a walking shoe before but now that I am older and I feel the aches and pains that is my body, investing on a pair of good waking shoes would probably help me out. Normally, I would have purchased my shoes at the mall but as I drove past Althea's, their front advertised Hoka's. Since I was always curious about this establishment, my husband and I decided to visit. Keep in mind that this shoe store isn't your run of the mill shoe store. They specialize in orthopedic and diabetic shoe wear. Many of their clientele are referred by doctors. First off, customer service was great! They are really knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I think everyone who worked there acknowledged us when we first entered, though we didn't get assisted until about 5 minutes in because they were all with customers. The staff who assisted me was Bill. I didn't feel at all pressured to buy from him although I had a feeling he knew I was set on buying Hokas. He let me try on two models. They didn't have the color I wanted so Bill offered to get it ordered for me with no additional/reservation charge. One week after our visit, I got my Hokas and I've been in shoes heaven since. Parking is plentiful which is always a plus! Their hours are Monday to Fridays, closing at 5pm. I really wish I went in sooner to support this business! I will definitely recommend this place.

I will not be using again and strongly suggest going else where…read more I have had custom orthotics for just over 5 years now, I get a new pair with the military every year. This was my last pair before retirement. I have plantar facilitates, pes planus, and pretty bad neuropathy that is not diabetic related (idiopathic findings.) With that being said Im well aware that Inserts themselves aren't this magic treatment however, this is the first location in five years in WA that I have had issues. Issues to the point that whoever had glued the top back wards. What I mean is left is right, right is left. If that makes sense. When initially trying them on before leaving for the first time; I complained that my arches fill like they are slipping off and a pinching / stabbing sensation was occurring. Along with really rubbing on the outside. This wound up chewing the inside of my shoe up pretty good. Nevertheless, I was told that was all part of the break in and to just where them, they were good And just needed to get use to them. I wore them for the duration of time they requested and yet had zero change. I returned and had to go back the next day for an appointment so, they could be adjusted. I returned the next day when they found the issue of them being put on "backwards" I was unable to leave with the inserts and given a temporary insert as was informed they would need to reglue with a new insert. Once again I then had to return with the second pair as they had the same issue. Returning and dropping off the inserts I already knew my inserts were going to take time to adjust and would need to be mailed. This is due to the fact I'm retiring after a full 20+ career and would be out of the state. Fast forward and the inserts have now been mailed .... however, they are still not correct. The Right side for both R1&2 are not as wide as L1&2 by a large margin. In addition, when readjusting/ inserting the new layer on repair, there is now glue or air trapped under the top cushion. I'm sure it's part of the "break in right? I'm unable to go back in now, for any adjustments due to being out of state and honestly after being back and fourth on four separate occasions would not bother. If going through podiatry with the military and being referred for orthotics, I urge you to go anywhere else. This location will be the closest to the base and generally the first one that pops up and recommended for referral from podiatry . Again, try and find somewhere else. I see a lot of positive reviews, although this was not my experience. Hope this helps someone like me who after years of breaking your body finally tries to get some assistance. Pictures may be hard to see but maybe not... All I can say is Althea's .... "This is not the way"

L2 plastic is so wide it won't fit in a shoe. Can trim foam but plastic shouldn't be like this.

Plastic piece is over the foam and sharp. Better, but Continues to dig in and will not be wearing these. My Shoes inside got chewed up.

I saw a few things here I liked, but when I saw the pricing, I just laughed, I wouldn't pay their asking price if the same items were new. I was also offended while attempting to shop here. I was the only one in the store and the woman was doing something in the corner. As I starting browsing near the entrance, I felt crowded and when I looked up, the woman working there, had apparently decided to spruce up the area I was looking at. It was a poorly timed and placed attempt to discourage shoplifting, but I am a mature, educated man with more than enough money and if I had to guess, I donate thousands of dollar's worth of merchandise to Goodwill annually and are a little peeved then they don't provide coupons or vouchers for large donations. Actually, in the last year, I started donating to a place in Bellevue, they give either 10% or 15% off your bill when you donate and even though, I don't always find anything to purchase, at least I know my donation is appreciated. This woman made me so uncomfortable following me around, I left. It was a nasty atmosphere and not typical of the once Hippy Vegan vibe I would get visiting Olympia. Shame on your Goodwill, I expect far better from you in many ways.
