#3 Combo. Red Snapper, 3 dumplings, plantain $15.50

Very legit food that I deliberately travel from Manhattan for. I think the best way to start the day is with fish. We'll talk about how to end the day proper, another time. They serve a good portion size entree. Their plantains are good and they have fresher protein selections than others. The service is friendly, and the place is in a highly accessible area next to a major highway. They do have a smallish parking area, and street parking is very limited. Keep that in mind and call in your order if you know what you'd like in advance! Don't forget to order your drink!!!

Caribbean food on point! Love everything in here! Cheap as well! Location: It is located in Baychester, Bronx. The interior is okay. Didn't stay here, just order and go! Service: no interaction. Just order and go! Food: Everything was so delicious and good! FRIED CHICKEN: crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, damn i can eat whole box! So good! JERK CHICKEN: the sauce on the chicken is so delicious and perfect amount of spice! Comes with fresh veggies! OXTAIL: damn this is my favorite! Huge serving and the oxtail was cooked perfectly! Price rating: 7/10, the price matches all the deliciousness! Not bad for all the goodness. I will be back here to try their Ackee! But get the oxtail if you can! So delicious!

Heard a lot about Thai place but never got the chance to visit because am not in the BX often; I happened to be about ten minutes away from the restaurant and made it my business to check them out; COVID measures are in place, hand sanitizers are available as you walk in and masks are require for entry . I got the fish fritters, dumpling and a drink. The fish fritters are amazing, soft, fresh with a nice kick of peppers . I wasn't impressed with the dumplings but they were good. I got a natural beet, ginger & sea moss drink that was ok.

If you've read many of my recent reviews, you'll see that I'm new to the Bronx area. Never heard of this establishment until my boyfriend recommended it. At the time he first mentioned it, it was called Dumpling Shop. One weekday morning, we decided to run in for breakfast. To our surprise, the name had been changed to "The Dumpling Cove". Its a very bright, modern, and beautiful establishment. I believe we went in at about 7am and even then, the line was growing. Service is quick, easy, and courteous. The main thing I loved about this place was THE MENU. Not only is it brightly lit, displayed appropriately with pricing, but the actually sell value meals. At a typical Jamaican restaurant, they might nickle-and-dime you for items that would otherwise, make a complete meal. Not at Dumpling Cove, you get a full value meal for a decent price - its called the "dumpling combo". The menu features a wide selection of Jamaican favorites (breakfast, lunch, and supper) and they had everything available for purchase. When we got to the register, I opted to go with the Callaloo and saltfish meal (Yes, I said a meal). My boyfriend got the ackee and sailfish. With the meal, you are offered a choice of fried or boiled dumplings; many shops I've been to before typically charge you extra for such items. If that wasn't offered, I would've protested that their name be changed lol. I also purchased some saltfish fritters on the side. I absolutely loved my callaloo and sailfish. It tasted as if I back home in Jamaica; The fish was fresh and cooked well, and the dumplings were light and fluffy. My only complaint was the excess amount of oil. By the time I got to work (15mins away), oil had leaked out of the brown bag and into the plastic bag. There was oil everywhere and my hands smelled like fish. It would've been nice if they could prevent that some way or drain the food when portioning out for the customer. I did not like the saltifish fritters, they were spicy and contained too much curry seasoning. My boyfriend loved his meal however, he had the same excess oil. Cons - only con was the lack of parking. It gets packed in this place and parking is slim to none. Be mindful of double parking as well, may be best to have a partner tag along. Otherwise, I will be returning and recommending to others.

This was the Dumplin Shop. New name, same great food. West Indian/Caribbean fried fish, salt fish, oxtail, rice and peas etc. the usual. Food is very good but the fried dumplin with fish is fantastic. That's what the line is for. Turnover is good so you will always have fresh fried fish. It does however look like they are trying something new. All you can eat Sunday Brunch, karaoke night and special occasion events. There is a separate dining area for eat in with a full bar. Outdoor dining area for when it's not too brisk, ample lightening. Located next to 95 on a wide residential block with good parking. I drove by on my way to the airport and there was a line at 6 in the morning so they have an early start. Ladies that work in the restaurant are lovely. They are like your favorite aunts.

I like the Dumplin Cove for their fish and dumplings that's about it. Their other food is okay, the customer service needs to be better.

Unfortunately, the temperature was terrible. Although their AC unit showed 65 on it, it felt more like 90 degrees! I came with 3 other colleagues for brunch and we ordered a variety of items. We started with the Mediterranean Platter which had toasted pita bread with 3 spreads. The baba ganoush and spicy feta were delicious but the hummus with pickled onions fell short. Hummus was plain and the pickled onions were too sweet. Main dishes ordered were: Pelican Brief Burger: good solid burger but I ordered it medium and received well done which was disappointing. Fries were good but nothing spectacular. Filet (Oh) Fish: good nothing special The Pelican Platter: The presentation was impressive was the taste and texture was subpar. The texture was more dense than I would like and it crumbled like a cornbread. The size is huge and thick but unfortunately, I wouldn't order this again. The Pelican Platter: We sub the French Toast for the pancake. The French Toast was a better choice. Tasted good and the texture was nice. Both platters came with a small side of fresh strawberry, maple syrup, whipped cream, and strawberry jam. You also get two eggs, bacons, and tater tots. Although the menu says old bay tater tots, it came plain. However, it was perfectly fried and crunchy so I didn't mind not having the old bay seasoning. Drinks: Strawberry Matcha, Jasmine iced tea and houjicha. All the drinks were okay and none of them stood out. Overall, I am glad I tried it out but I would give it a 3.5/5.

Our server asked how "done" we wanted our burger and salmon ("medium") but when the salmon arrived it was very rare. This has happened before here -- it took a long time for my properly cooked fish to arrive, and everyone else at our table had finished their meals. Fortunately, that didn't happen tonight, and my properly cooked fish arrived fairly fast. When a restaurant knows how to execute a fine dining experience, the guest is able to enjoy their time and their company. When it doesn't (when the staff looks and acts scared, doesn't bring water when it is requested, doesn't pay proper attention to its guests, doesn't bring properly cooked food...), the experience is tense and unenjoyable. That unfortunately was the case for us tonight. Also, the music played used to be so much more enjoyable. Lately it sounds gyrating and annoying.
