The Dugout is a casual place to go with friends for a few drinks. I wouldn't really expect to meet new people here, it's usually rather laid back and not too many people. They have a fun trivia night and tvs to watch sports games. Best part about this place, free unlimited popcorn with all your drinks! This bar is right under my boyfriend's apartment, so it's him and his roommates go-to spot. It's definitely a dive, but a great bar to become your usual.

Dark, small, dive-y, subterranean. Everything you want in a bar right on the Boston University campus. I don't think they let in the young-un's anymore, but I remember going as a freshman at BU and flashing my CVS employee nametag as ID. Ahh, good times.

The worst dive bar with a rude bartender guy. Craft beer is 7$, that's too expensive.

Great little basement bar conveniently located on the BU campus. Good music, cheap drinks and friendly bartenders.

It's pretty small, which lends to a warm and noisy ambiance which is nice to feel a little cozier and livelier in the winter months. If it's busy time and there's no outdoor seating I'd say go for a reservation if you want to go for dinner. I have tried their late night menu but to be honest I was imbibed and my enhoyment may have been stilted because I was quite hungry! My friend got their like short-term speciality cocktail of a garlic bread martini, and it was actually good?!? I was expecting it to be repulsive but they even did that well. Staff is really sweet, met the man who either owns it or manages it and chatted with him for a while and he was really kind. All are excellent even when they are busy.

Even a good pub has good tea. Next the noise level was about that of Park Square station at rush hour. You had to yell to be heard, and I am not deaf. Service was decent but certainly not great. Most of us had the baked cod with lentil and fennel. You received about 2 ounces of lentils and a bit of over cooked and tasteless fennel. The fish was decent though would have been better with a solid crumb topping. Pricing is aggressive even for Brookline. I would certainly come back for a beer with friends. I would not recommend sitting down for dinner.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, and several different games were being played on the many giant TVs on the walls (3 different college football games, a soccer game, and Cartoon Network). The highlight here was the food. It was reasonably priced, not too greasy, and delicious. Special shoutout to the glazed Brussels sprouts (sweet, crispy, and soft on the inside) and the chicken tenders tower (crispy, tender, and a fun presentation). A lowlight here was how our drinks kept almost falling off the table. It was nice that the tables were smooth instead of sticky, but we soon learned that all drinks should be kept on tables that weren't slanted at all, since they kept slipping towards the edge.

Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. We ordered the chicken tender tower and split it between 3 people which was more than enough - the tenders were so crispy, loved the fries and large quantitiy, dips were all fantatstic, and loved the fun presentation. I also had a apple cider donut downeast which they served with a sugar rim - so good!! Had such a great time and hope to come back and try other things :)

There was like three or four customers just a bartender working so you have to cover the whole place. The menu is basically everything is à la carte but everything is very affordable. Total bar food but we got a veggie quesadilla that was actually delicious and I got the cowboy burger, which was great and my friend Tammy got a steak and a chicken taco, she liked them both very much. The server was very attentive. He made sure everything went well. The only reason they don't get five stars is we ordered a quesadilla as an appetizer and when we got our main courses he had and brought it because he forgot to order it. It was apologetic. He was super nice, but you know, obviously it's hard for a bartender to do everything but I would recommend anyone go through in the neighborhood and just want a cheap eat or a place to get a quick drink.

The music was way too loud for it to be just a radio speaker. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was more beans than anything else. Maybe I'll try another visit when I'm back to see if maybe it was a one off but overall, wasn't really impressed.
