For parents deciding whether you should bring your children to the wave for swim classes or another facility, let me save you some time and say to not waste your money or precious time coming here. This place is a joke. First off- it's EXPENSIVE and annoying to book. That should've been my first clue that they don't take customer service seriously. Secondly- they will randomly cancel a class and not tell you. Their instructors don't seem to actually show up. In the past few weeks, I've seen their staff scramble trying to figure out what to do with the extra 3-6 kids when it seems that someone didn't show for their shift. Once this happens, the instructor will essentially put your kids in the water and tell them to just go over whatever they learned last week. So essentially I paid $173+ my time for you to not teach my child anything. Awesome. Third- for the past 3 weeks they've started every class late - at least 5 minutes while they all chit chat poolside, just hanging out, getting paid for nothing. However, they don't ever end the class late and twice have ended early. $173 for a 15-20 minute useless class. Cool! Fourth - the front desk people are useless. We signed my daughter up for a class, they cancelled the entire class left a voicemail just saying we've cancelled the class. No question as to whether we'd like to switch to a different time, no reason why and when I called back they had other classes available. And refunds take over a month to receive when THEY cancel the class on you. Seriously.. skip this place and go to another swim center OR put your kid in karate right down the street. At least they're actually teaching them something there. read more

Their website stated they provide towels & life jackets. Nope! Many of the statements on their website were not honored upon arrival. Not only were half of the slides closed due to a child-related accident on their first day of opening yesterday, but nothing offered, not even a discount on admission for the inconvenience. 5 stars for the facilities as they're nice and everything's brand new, otherwise, 2 stars for bad customer service during their grand opening. This is a great place and addition to the area however,  a huge dislike/downside is that they say no outside food but, they only provide 2 options which are both bbq or Mexican food related. For people with younger kids this is RIDICULOUS!! I hope a bunch of people vote to change this policy to an extent as it is really not fair for families and that is mostly what you will see here. They have a great small children's park in the water and the waterslides are pretty good. Many other areas to swim in and tons of outdoor/indoor space. Update: Another down side of at least our 1st time at this place. There were some obvious out of town people who decided that it was a good area to start a minor brawl  with one another in one of the big pool areas. I think it stopped only because they came into the area when we were and one if them kind of used us and our kids as a barrier. I complained to management/ gave them a heads up because the people were obviously staying and management was very receptive. I know it is only day one and overall I am definitely happy with the place and will go back/ recommend it. read more

This review is regarding lap swim in the indoor pool at The Wave. If you are an adult, wishing to swim laps in a serious, uninterrupted and safe manner, steer clear of this pool. I was impressed at first glance by the facility itself, and the guidelines on their website regarding lane sharing and swim etiquette seemed really serious and well organized. This is all a complete falsehood. The swim lanes are complete chaos, unregulated by the apathetic teenagers who act as life guards, and plagued by more teenagers who just loiter near the edges, obstructing the actual swimmers. Most people just pick a random lane, ignoring the speed designations, and most people swim either in the middle, or on whichever side of the lane they damn well please. It is a collision waiting to happen and so you have to be tremendously vigilant while you swim, which results in any serious lap swimming being impossible. The facilities are nice, but the layout of the bathrooms are not conducive at all. The locker rooms are all of the kind you have to pay for, and they are outside of the bathrooms, on the main hall where everyone hangs out. The showers are filthy, smelly, with actual mold in the curtains. The changing area is completely opposite and far away from the shower room, and the shower room only has one small bench at the end that people have to fight over to hold their belongings while their shower. Everything is new, but not cared for, and this management will run this place to the ground if they continue to care for it in such a way. Finally, there was a workman inside the bathroom this morning when I came in. When I asked him to leave because I needed to change, he told me I could go ahead but he had to stay and work. Completely unacceptable. When I asked if he would be there long, because I had to shower, he said I could shower but he would be there. This feels completely unsafe, and I simply have a hard time believing they can't have workmen make repairs during off-hours, which is what any serious facility would do. All in all, this is a state of the art facility being run like a rural town recreation center. The front desk and the manager are nice but completely inefficient and ineffective. Their website is horrible. I've had countless issues with just trying to buy a damn ticket! Apparently you can't but day of tickets because the site warns that you can't purchase once you get there as everything is prepaid. When you get on their site, the tickets say they're available to purchase until the day but there aren't any available. I've addresses concerns when calling the city but was forwarded to an employee that warns that she won't be in the office because she works early. So frustrating. Overpriced swimming pool- save your money and go to the next town over to Pleasanton "Dolores Bangston swim center" I paid almost 30 dollars to get in with my son at 4:15 PM when the swimming pool closed at 6PM. The lockers are rental lockers. I can't believe that this is a town swimming pool because they take advantage of the users as if they operated an overpriced business. It's definitely not in place to serve the community but rather just make money! In response to the wave, my son is 4 and being alone with him, I could not use the features that you mention. He doesn't know how to swim yet so the Waterpark features aren't why we went there. We went there to be in the pool. In my opinion, you are still overpriced and out of touch with the need of the public. From the entrance cost to the cost of lockers. I want to give this a higher rating but it just lacks organization. It's such a cool little water park with six great slides but they cannot figure out how to keep the line moving . They need to have one lifeguard at each slide and keep the line moving but lots of yelling and mass confusion which is completely unnecessary. If they could figure out a better flow it would be more successful. Since it is a city park they cannot control who visits either so people travel from Tracy, Oakland, Hayward surrounding cities etc. and some days the crowd is quite rough. The police were called three times on a day I visited with alcohol intoxication, child endangerment, and visible pot smoke coming out of cabanas. That is not the fault of the wave and they did call police and have the people removed . The wave cannot be discriminative and have to allow them in so that happens everywhere I guess. Also they Took away my little kids Gatorade upon entry and will not allow outside snacks at all. They make you purchase food from the kiosk which was sold out of half the food items. Anyway, it has a great indoor pool or hot days which I love for kids that burn. The park has great potential. If they could just get the slides organized, allow outside snacks for kids, and stay stocked up on food at the kiosk I would've given it a higher rating. I am not taking off stars for the clientele in which they have no control of. Additionally, each time I visit there's always something closed. Today the outdoor pool is closed, Monday the little kids water feature was closed. It's a little unfair to charge full price and not have everything up and running. Not allowing snacks proposes a safety risk for children who should stay hydrated and fed on hot days. Those degenerates that want to drink alcohol will just go out to their car and consume and come back in so it really doesn't limit anything from stopping it at the door. My other gripe is they charge chaperones since every guest must have a wristband. I find that obnoxious since I think some families will just drop their kids off so they don't have to pay. I think providing a chaperone wristband would be a good idea. Anyway, overall the place is clean, the staff are great so if they could just work out the many wrinkles and keep the flow moving and the degenerates out it would be a great place to visit frequently. It particularly bothers me that the city police have to come frequently due to the behavior of non-residents. It's a waste of state taxes and resources. This is why San Ramon stopped the fabulous annual Fourth of July fireworks. Blah blah blah not much you can do since scum of society are everywhere and will ruin many things. Benefited from a parent go free coupon to attend with my two girls. And that's a good job at $17 a pop (non resident price. The staff are pleasant and efficient. Bags are checked for food and drink - not sure why as I saw plenty people with purchased items brought in. There are lockers available if you do not feel comfortable leaving your belongings near you deck chair. There are plenty of those available around the shallow pool, the grassy bit with otherwise game and the deeper pool. There is also an indoor pool There are plenty of staff around, clean and spacious bathroom / showers and changing rooms. It is clean. Umbrella are there to provide a little shade. The main attraction is of course the slides. There are 3 regular fun ones , a spinning one ( you feel like you're geint flushed out of the loo), and two sheer drop (well near enough). They are all maned and carefully watched. You feel safe and looked after. There are sun lounger and tents to rent (all on their website) I appreciated the music playing. read more

I'd like to also say how disappointed we were w this place. My daughter is a bit tallish side for being 6 years old. She was kicked off both of the slides for younger kids. That basically left elementary aged kids out of luck unless they were really daring enough to do the really big slides. It's my first time visiting a local water park--maybe that's why I'm impressed. I'm confused over the business's low star rating. I like this place. I have a three year old, he loves the kid's water slides. My two criticism are 1) the lack of seasonal passes 2) temps tired of the pools. They said the lack of seasonal passes are due to Covid, but I'm not sure what Covid has to do with it since they don't have restrictions on the number of attendees. Also, the pools could be warmer. They have heated pools, but I still feel cold especially when it's windy. read more

I'm going to start out with the fact that I'm a big guy, over 300 pounds. I am quite aware of my size, I'm not trying to hide it. The reason i chose to come here with a couple of friends, we are all around 20'years old, was to have a nice cool day in pool and maybe ride some slides. Now, i know water parks often times have weight restrictions. This is why I checked to make sure I would be able to ride the slides. According to the website, only two slides had a weight restriction. Cool! I was excited and was happy I wouldn't have to go out to San Jose for to cool off Anyways, we get there and I'm about to go up the stairs for the slides and I get stopped by an employees and was forced to step on a scale to be weighed in front of all my friends and strangers. It was humiliating! Take me to the side at least. Anyways, it's pretty much false advertisement. Luckily I'm not ashamed of being fat, or else I would have felt worse. Anyways, even if I defatify myself, I won't be coming back. I get you have have had problems in the past with almost killing a kid, but this experience was excessive. read more

Very nice and clean facilities but the staff was borderline rude and, to be honest, it's not very family friendly!! This place is expensive with limited covered seating, which is ABSOLUTELY necessary on hot days. The cashier even questioned me about a water diaper as if I was unaware of pool etiquette/sanitation requirements but I suppose they probably need to remind some folk about this. More egregious is the no outside food (snacks) or drinks policy and the manner in which they search your bags is just awful! Very unwelcoming and intrusive to say the least. The food is unhealthy and most toddlers can't eat this stuff. Today we ate our last dried up cheeseburger and fries at this venue. Back to the water/splash park in San Ramon and/or WC we go. read more

The Wave is a community aquatic facility in the city of Dublin with an indoor pool, outdoor pool, waterslide tower and splash zone at under $20 per person. We came in the summer, a Friday before noon, and there was plenty of free parking in their parking lot. There's a window to buy tickets, and they hand you bracelets, a receipt and a flyer. You make your way in to the very clean and bright building where another staff member welcomes you in. One isn't allowed to bring outside food or drinks besides water, but you can pack a cooler of food and drinks and leave it in your car and easily leave the park to enjoy a picnic on the grass or on tables and benches at the neighboring park. The showers and bathrooms were kept clean, the staff is friendly, the life guards are fully engaged and made sure everyone followed rules to keep everyone safe. There are plenty of shaded places to sit and a snack shack that provided affordable hot and cold food items. We ordered a pineapple dole whip dessert and only waited a few minutes in line. We didn't rent the cabanas or lounge chairs so I can't really say anything of value about them except that the cabanas were a bit on the small side, there are only 3 of them and they are placed in an awkward corner that doesn't really give you a view of the park. I couldn't imagine myself sitting in a cabana since I wouldn't be able to watch my kids unless I sit in a free seat next to the pool or splash zone. So my advice is to go early to make sure you get a free seat that has a view of the play area your kids will most likely be spending a lot of their time in. I like that the indoor pool had a 2 foot depth that was pretty spacious, more than most pools I've seen. So my son was able to move freely and confidently without feeling like he was trapped in a corner. We spent a good 5 hours here and enjoyed our time. I have already recommended this place to family and friends. Just come prepared (arrive early, pack food and drinks) and appreciate a fun family summer outing at an affordable price. read more

The facility is brand new so it's still very clean and modern looking. Though we were disappointed with the admission fees, lack of activities for baby/toddler/young kids. Staffs are nice but they followed the park's strict rules and it's very annoying. Ie: only kids 6+ can use the water slide in the splash area. Toddlers who are not tall enough can't ride the small slides even on parent's lab. Taller kids cannot go down on a small slide etc. This water park also has a lot of empty spaces which could have developed into a baby splash area or even a lazy river. But I guess we will never see any of that. The splash area is nice but again, you have to be in a certain age/height to fully enjoy it. The indoor pool is probably our favorite. They even have a ramp for people with wheelchair to go in the water. Overall, We'll probably won't be back. For the admission price, it's not worth it. read more

City of Dublin - another fail. I wish I could say something good about this place but I can't. It's run by teenagers who are uninformed and misguided. I'm all for hiring local kids who need jobs. Yet please train them better. The parking is absolutely terrible. If you come when there's another event, good luck finding a spot. Limited parking at a water park. It's ridiculously expensive. $15/person for entry for a pool and a slide, and overpriced food. You can't bring outside food in - limiting yourself to their terrible food choices or whatever food truck they have - if they have one. Really miss the Dublin pool - Cal High is the better option. $20 for 4 people to come in, and you can bring your own food. Sit on the grass, in the shade.. and relax. The kids area/activity center is fantastic, and there's 2 other full size pools to enjoy. read more

First off, this is NOT a real water park. That should set your expectations. This is a community pool that happens to have a really wonderful water slide feature and water park area. The pool is indoors and the water is heated so warm, I almost wanted to stay in the pool all day because it was, at the time, freezing outside. I've been going to the pool after I drop my kid at school, and then in the afternoons for swim classes for my son. Now the swim instructors are okay, and they aren't exactly top notch, but I notice that my son has definitely made a lot of progress since starting classes. The changing room is probably the nicest that I've ever seen at any pool facility. There are showers, toilets, several dryers, and a changing area for adults and a changing table for babies. It is incredibly clean, and attended to. Or maybe that's my experience, being there at 9 AM. Regardless, it's spic and span EVERY day that I go there. The lap swim/water walking is only $6, as is the free swim times. I understand that the water park area has tons of restrictions, and I haven't yet tried it out since it is closed until summer. But let's be honest, its not a full blown water park. You're better off going to Schlitterbahn for that. Oh wait, that's a Houston thing. My bad. read more

This is a place with great amenities, space and pool area. People/customer service/ humanity, however, do not exist. We signed up for my kids' swim lessons here - 4 week/8 classes session.The swim instructors are below average, "lets kill time with these kids" kind of people. Most of them are chatting in the pool while the kids are pretty much playing in the water. It's like water-play supervises by high school kids. All they do is throw rings in the waist deep pool and have kids fetch them, we're talking about 5-6 year old kids who have much more potential at that age. Out first session, instructor did not even show up in time during the 25 min class, so the class ended up being 15 min long. I went to speak with them to increase time to make up the lost time and they didn't care. All they said that next time onward, they will make sure it's on time. Unfortunately after the first session, my daughter fractured her arm in school and I requested to either carryover the humongous fees that the charge into the next session or to be atleast partially refunded. They said their policy doesn't not allow them to refund or carryover any of the fees/money paid. I said that it's not like just one class that she was going to miss, it was going to be the whole session because of being in a cast. This is a legitimate medical issue and I even offered to bring a doctor's note to prove that she can't swim in a cast. But nothing seems to alter their "policy". Extremely unfair, given that these are kids we're dealing with who have accidents, fall sick or break bones. Please do yourself a favor and do not bother going to this swim school. There are far better, kid-friendlier and kid-accommodating swim schools out there who understand that kids can fall sick or break bones and allow reasonable accommodation around these unforeseen circumstances. The wave is just a money making business regardless of whether or not services were provided/received. As much as I would love to recommend this beautiful place/pool, their "policies" are way too expensive and irrational. read more

Great place for a day of play! Very clean everywhere in the facility. They use a bromine-salt system to clean the water which was crystal clear and the perfect temperature. They'll get that extra 'star' when they add more cabana rentals. The only thing I thought was VERY BAD was their decorative concrete "boardwalk" that runs through the park. Be VERY CAREFUL since this decorative concrete BECOMES SLICK AS ICE WHEN WET - a huge mistake adding that feature. I think Dublin should sue the contractor whom installed it and hold him liable for any 'slip-n-fall' injuries. Only morons and a-holes use finished concrete around pools - especially at a public city-owned park. read more

What's been said about this place is true. If you're able to look past all that and prep yourself for all the "rules" beforehand you can still have a decent time here. Our first attempt to come here was on a packed, hot Saturday afternoon. They offer lower ticket prices after 3 PM but the line barely moved after an hour. The staff tipped us off that if we purchase tickets online we can skip the line but since we already wasted an hour we decided to try again on Sunday. It took quite a bit of searching on their website to figure out what was and wasn't allowed as well as to purchase afternoon tickets online. No joke, it took 3 non-technically challenged adults to find the option to select afternoon tickets and how to get the resident price. When we finally got our tickets though, entering was a breeze and we got to skip the line as promised. Shade is very limited, particularly around the play structure which doesn't make sense since that's where most people are sitting around to watch their kids. They have a handful of patio umbrellas in random spots but not enough, as evidenced by all the people sitting along the concrete wall, trying to get what little shade they could from it. They have a sign that says no umbrellas can be brought in but looks like they have relaxed their policy a bit because several people had their pop up tent shades set up on the large grass area. They do not allow outside food. They allow sealed water bottles or empty ones you can fill at their water fountains but nothing else aside from that. There are food trucks (Mexican, burgers and shaved ice on the day I went) as well as a Dippin Dots stand but a meal for 5 was pricier than I would have liked and still left us hungry. The water structures themselves were less than I thought. The indoor pool was by far my favorite. A huge space with lots of natural light. The pool did not at all feel crowded on a hot, Sunday. If there are classes that day they close the pool promptly at a certain time, so make sure you check that beforehand. The one and only kids play structure seemed smaller than expected, perhaps because it was so packed with kids. My boys enjoyed it but because it's mixed with both big and little kids it felt a bit hectic at times so you really have to watch out for your toddlers. There is a smaller, outdoor pool but once the indoor pool closed that pool looked like it was at capacity with everyone migrating to it. I personally didn't try the water slides but my husband and niece say they were a-okay. Overall, given the price for this place and all the hype I was a bit disappointed. It feels like it's missing something, like a lazy river or a larger kid play structure. If you do go, stick with afternoon tickets (3 - 6 PM). I think that's more than enough time here. P.S. They are also strict on life jackets. While they don't offer any for the kids to use, they check to make sure the ones you bring in are USCG approved. read more

This place was perfect for my kids' first water slide experience- they had a fabulous time! There was a variety of slides at different speeds/levels, which allowed them to start on the easier ones and work up courage for the steeper ones. The staff and lifeguards were diligent and also super kind and encouraging. The splash zone was fun too. We brought our food and had a picnic outside, which broke up the day nicely (they give in and out privileges). Although there are only 6 slides, we stayed about 4 hours and never got bored. There's a nice shower facility too. A little pricey to go all the time, but it was super fun for a special occasion. read more

This place is ok. I don't think I would go back on my own with the kids but if someone wanted to meet there, I might tag along. It's expensive for the little ones that can't do anything. If they are under 40 inches, all they can do is splash around or swim in the big pool. They have a play structure with tiny slides but they still make you be 40 inches to go down them. Looks like a little kids area but really isn't. And you have to be careful they don't get ran over by the big kids. $15 is a lot for a kid to do less than they can do at cheaper places. They even charged me $5 to bring my 8 week old in, even though he wasn't going in the water. Very little shade and they don't allow you to bring any food or drinks in. It's clean and the people are friendly although most are young/mid teenagers. **The lifeguards are hardly recognizable in their white tshirts, if you didn't know to look for their fanny packs you wouldn't know. **Not enough shade. **When there's another event happening at the park the parking is scarce. We do Jr gators at the night time and it's really really difficult to find parking. Out of the 3 days a week they practice there's 2 days that the park has events. **food. You CANNOT bring anything in. Nothing. They tell you that you can eat at the picnic benches outside of the gate but when you have toddler or a child with a medical condition that needs food constantly it's not easy or fun to go out every 15 min to have a granola bar. Plus if you didn't bring food in your car then you're subject to whatever crappy overpriced food truck they have on hand. The trucks constantly run out of water bottles (cuz you can't bring them inside, even reusable). I dropped my daughter here with $25 for a team bonding thing. She paid $15 to get in & didn't have enough money to eat anything at the food truck that was provided. That's asinine. **tickets. Holy hell they take forever. We stood in line for 25 min with 2 people ahead of us. They had 2 tickets each to buy and it took them 25 min!!! I know you can buy online but honestly every time I've attempted it's not working. **as a Dublin resident we will never come here. My daughter comes here for her team bonding stuff and myself and the rest of my family go to Cal High. It's extremely expensive for what it provides, especially for younger children & young families. read more

The pools were nice but the lifeguards and kids working the front seemed like they have no training... they were rude and just talked amongst themselves. Didn't seem like they were ever working. Also no outside food?! And all they served was some super unhealthy fried chicken and hot dogs from a food truck? I have a 15 month old daughter. Do they really expect her to eat French fries and hot dogs?? How do you expect kids to play there with no food. Overall I'd say I won't go back again. Just was crowded & overpriced. And like I said the outside food thing was nuts. I wouldn't mind if there were healthy options, but a toddler can't eat from a greasy food truck menu. read more

Not worth the cost. My son is a toddler and didn't last more than an hour. But still had to pay $32 for both of us. Trying to buy tickets online is confusing-- even the staff didn't know how to do it. Only one ticket line was open and had to wait in line for 15-20 mins. Bathrooms are not family friendly. The showers run for 5 seconds at a time. you have to keep pressing the button. It was impossible to clean off my son and try to dress him. Let alone try to shower off myself. 3/4 of the stalls were flooded. Not allowed to bring your own food or drinks. You are subject to the food truck fast food. Staff is friendly and the facility is generally nice-- but save your money. read more

I was quite confused by what this park was until I visited. If you are expecting a Waterworld or Raging Waters type place, this is not it. The prices reflect that, though. There is one large outdoor pool that is divided by sections - there is a large 4 foot deep area and that is separated from a larger 7 foot deep area. There are some swim lanes taking up some of the 7 foot area and because we were there on a weekday, I think it was fine. . I am assuming then the park is at capacity, they open up the pool but I am not entirely sure. There is a large area for little ones with lots of fun things to play with . . .my family is all grown past that stage but it looked like the little ones were having a blast - there was a "code brown" while we were there but they cleaned it up quickly and re-opened as quickly as they could . . a lot of moms were really aggro with the staff which I did not understand. . why would you want them to rush the clean up when it's your kid getting exposed to those germs? There is a large indoor pool but it was too humid in there for me to enjoy it much but I dream of going there in the winter. . .I think it would be lovely then. There are a total of four slides open right now. . .there are two that are not because of the opening day incident (a kid hydroplaned out of the slide area onto the concrete. . he was ok but they are re-evaluating the general safety) .. .the slides are well supervised and my kids loved them. . the lines were heavy at times but moved quickly. I do think the no outside food policy is misguided. . .there were two food trucks - a taco truck and a burger truck and both had pretty decent food but it's expensive to feed a lot of people off a truck like that - there are in and out privileges and I think next time I will just pack a cooler and have a picnic outside the pool area - it's in the middle of a beautiful park, so why not? They also have a dippin' dots cart that the kids mob. You can bring in water bottles and canteens but that is truly it. . i hope they revise that. . they even made a lady throw away her graham crackers she had in her diaper bag. . that's kind of silly. There isn't much shade. . a few tables have umbrellas but they really need to add more. . .it was super hot the day we were there and shade was hard to come by. If you get too hot, you can go in the main building which is air conditioned and lovely! The bathrooms and changing rooms are kept very, very clean and there are plenty. all in all, a lovely place to pass a pretty summer day! read more
