Had a great time with the family.. Online tickets was fast and easy. Kids had a blast. Will be there next summer.

This is a place with great amenities, space and pool area. People/customer service/ humanity, however, do not exist. We signed up for my kids' swim lessons here - 4 week/8 classes session. The swim instructors are below average, "lets kill time with these kids" kind of people. Most of them are chatting in the pool while the kids are pretty much playing in the water. It's like water-play supervises by high school kids. All they do is throw rings in the waist deep pool and have kids fetch them, we're talking about 5-6 year old kids who have much more potential at that age. Out first session, instructor did not even show up in time during the 25 min class, so the class ended up being 15 min long. I went to speak with them to increase time to make up the lost time and they didn't care. All they said that next time onward, they will make sure it's on time. Unfortunately after the first session, my daughter fractured her arm in school and I requested to either carryover the humongous fees that the charge into the next session or to be atleast partially refunded. They said their policy doesn't not allow them to refund or carryover any of the fees/money paid. I said that it's not like just one class that she was going to miss, it was going to be the whole session because of being in a cast. This is a legitimate medical issue and I even offered to bring a doctor's note to prove that she can't swim in a cast. But nothing seems to alter their "policy". Extremely unfair, given that these are kids we're dealing with who have accidents, fall sick or break bones. Please do yourself a favor and do not bother going to this swim school. There are far better, kid-friendlier and kid-accommodating swim schools out there who understand that kids can fall sick or break bones and allow reasonable accommodation around these unforeseen circumstances. The wave is just a money making business regardless of whether or not services were provided/received. As much as I would love to recommend this beautiful place/pool, their "policies" are way too expensive and irrational. read more

Great place for a day of play! Very clean everywhere in the facility. They use a bromine-salt system to clean the water which was crystal clear and the perfect temperature. They'll get that extra 'star' when they add more cabana rentals. The only thing I thought was VERY BAD was their decorative concrete "boardwalk" that runs through the park. Be VERY CAREFUL since this decorative concrete BECOMES SLICK AS ICE WHEN WET - a huge mistake adding that feature. I think Dublin should sue the contractor whom installed it and hold him liable for any 'slip-n-fall' injuries. Only morons and a-holes use finished concrete around pools - especially at a public city-owned park. read more

No umbrellas or chairs...I guess because they want you to rent the cabanas No outside food whatsoever....I guess because they want to make money with the food truck service Limited to one sealed bottle of water per person. High prices that do not seem to offer a "return" in value City of Dublin, please take all the feedback into consideration. The person responding seems to be a robot who copy/pastes responses. Customers don't care if you offer an outside picnic area, who wants to leave to eat and drink their own food? And if you promote safety, you should allow customers to bring chairs and shade. Heat exposure is high in Dublin in case you weren't aware. read more

What's been said about this place is true. If you're able to look past all that and prep yourself for all the "rules" beforehand you can still have a decent time here. Our first attempt to come here was on a packed, hot Saturday afternoon. They offer lower ticket prices after 3 PM but the line barely moved after an hour. The staff tipped us off that if we purchase tickets online we can skip the line but since we already wasted an hour we decided to try again on Sunday. It took quite a bit of searching on their website to figure out what was and wasn't allowed as well as to purchase afternoon tickets online. No joke, it took 3 non-technically challenged adults to find the option to select afternoon tickets and how to get the resident price. When we finally got our tickets though, entering was a breeze and we got to skip the line as promised. Shade is very limited, particularly around the play structure which doesn't make sense since that's where most people are sitting around to watch their kids. They have a handful of patio umbrellas in random spots but not enough, as evidenced by all the people sitting along the concrete wall, trying to get what little shade they could from it. They have a sign that says no umbrellas can be brought in but looks like they have relaxed their policy a bit because several people had their pop up tent shades set up on the large grass area. They do not allow outside food. They allow sealed water bottles or empty ones you can fill at their water fountains but nothing else aside from that. There are food trucks (Mexican, burgers and shaved ice on the day I went) as well as a Dippin Dots stand but a meal for 5 was pricier than I would have liked and still left us hungry. The water structures themselves were less than I thought. The indoor pool was by far my favorite. A huge space with lots of natural light. The pool did not at all feel crowded on a hot, Sunday. If there are classes that day they close the pool promptly at a certain time, so make sure you check that beforehand. The one and only kids play structure seemed smaller than expected, perhaps because it was so packed with kids. My boys enjoyed it but because it's mixed with both big and little kids it felt a bit hectic at times so you really have to watch out for your toddlers. There is a smaller, outdoor pool but once the indoor pool closed that pool looked like it was at capacity with everyone migrating to it. I personally didn't try the water slides but my husband and niece say they were a-okay. Overall, given the price for this place and all the hype I was a bit disappointed. It feels like it's missing something, like a lazy river or a larger kid play structure. If you do go, stick with afternoon tickets (3 - 6 PM). I think that's more than enough time here. P.S. They are also strict on life jackets. While they don't offer any for the kids to use, they check to make sure the ones you bring in are USCG approved. read more

This place is ok. I don't think I would go back on my own with the kids but if someone wanted to meet there, I might tag along. It's expensive for the little ones that can't do anything. If they are under 40 inches, all they can do is splash around or swim in the big pool. They have a play structure with tiny slides but they still make you be 40 inches to go down them. Looks like a little kids area but really isn't. And you have to be careful they don't get ran over by the big kids. $15 is a lot for a kid to do less than they can do at cheaper places. They even charged me $5 to bring my 8 week old in, even though he wasn't going in the water. Very little shade and they don't allow you to bring any food or drinks in. It's not horrible, but overall just feels alike a rip-off. I'd recommend trying other places if you want a nice day out with the family read more

It's clean and the people are friendly although most are young/mid teenagers. **The lifeguards are hardly recognizable in their white tshirts, if you didn't know to look for their fanny packs you wouldn't know. **Not enough shade. **When there's another event happening at the park the parking is scarce. We do Jr gators at the night time and it's really really difficult to find parking. Out of the 3 days a week they practice there's 2 days that the park has events. **food. You CANNOT bring anything in. Nothing. They tell you that you can eat at the picnic benches outside of the gate but when you have toddler or a child with a medical condition that needs food constantly it's not easy or fun to go out every 15 min to have a granola bar. Plus if you didn't bring food in your car then you're subject to whatever crappy overpriced food truck they have on hand. The trucks constantly run out of water bottles (cuz you can't bring them inside, even reusable). I dropped my daughter here with $25 for a team bonding thing. She paid $15 to get in & didn't have enough money to eat anything at the food truck that was provided. That's asinine. **tickets. Holy hell they take forever. We stood in line for 25 min with 2 people ahead of us. They had 2 tickets each to buy and it took them 25 min!!! I know you can buy online but honestly every time I've attempted it's not working. **as a Dublin resident we will never come here. My daughter comes here for her team bonding stuff and myself and the rest of my family go to Cal High. It's extremely expensive for what it provides, especially for younger children & young families. read more

The pools were nice but the lifeguards and kids working the front seemed like they have no training... they were rude and just talked amongst themselves. Didn't seem like they were ever working. Also no outside food?! And all they served was some super unhealthy fried chicken and hot dogs from a food truck? I have a 15 month old daughter. Do they really expect her to eat French fries and hot dogs?? How do you expect kids to play there with no food. Overall I'd say I won't go back again. Just was crowded & overpriced. And like I said the outside food thing was nuts. I wouldn't mind if there were healthy options, but a toddler can't eat from a greasy food truck menu. read more

Not worth the cost. My son is a toddler and didn't last more than an hour. But still had to pay $32 for both of us. Trying to buy tickets online is confusing-- even the staff didn't know how to do it. Only one ticket line was open and had to wait in line for 15-20 mins. Bathrooms are not family friendly. The showers run for 5 seconds at a time. you have to keep pressing the button. It was impossible to clean off my son and try to dress him. Let alone try to shower off myself. 3/4 of the stalls were flooded. Not allowed to bring your own food or drinks. You are subject to the food truck fast food. Staff is friendly and the facility is generally nice-- but save your money. read more

I was quite confused by what this park was until I visited. If you are expecting a Waterworld or Raging Waters type place, this is not it. The prices reflect that, though. There is one large outdoor pool that is divided by sections - there is a large 4 foot deep area and that is separated from a larger 7 foot deep area. There are some swim lanes taking up some of the 7 foot area and because we were there on a weekday, I think it was fine. . I am assuming then the park is at capacity, they open up the pool but I am not entirely sure. There is a large area for little ones with lots of fun things to play with . . .my family is all grown past that stage but it looked like the little ones were having a blast - there was a "code brown" while we were there but they cleaned it up quickly and re-opened as quickly as they could . . a lot of moms were really aggro with the staff which I did not understand. . why would you want them to rush the clean up when it's your kid getting exposed to those germs? There is a large indoor pool but it was too humid in there for me to enjoy it much but I dream of going there in the winter. . .I think it would be lovely then. There are a total of four slides open right now. . .there are two that are not because of the opening day incident (a kid hydroplaned out of the slide area onto the concrete. . he was ok but they are re-evaluating the general safety) .. .the slides are well supervised and my kids loved them. . the lines were heavy at times but moved quickly. I do think the no outside food policy is misguided. . .there were two food trucks - a taco truck and a burger truck and both had pretty decent food but it's expensive to feed a lot of people off a truck like that - there are in and out privileges and I think next time I will just pack a cooler and have a picnic outside the pool area - it's in the middle of a beautiful park, so why not? They also have a dippin' dots cart that the kids mob. You can bring in water bottles and canteens but that is truly it. . i hope they revise that. . they even made a lady throw away her graham crackers she had in her diaper bag. . that's kind of silly. There isn't much shade. . a few tables have umbrellas but they really need to add more. . .it was super hot the day we were there and shade was hard to come by. If you get too hot, you can go in the main building which is air conditioned and lovely! The bathrooms and changing rooms are kept very, very clean and there are plenty. all in all, a lovely place to pass a pretty summer day! read more

(5/29) This place is nice BUT it's not ready yet. The lifeguards need so much more training. In the indoor pool I saw kids swimming in their jammies, kids doing running cannon balls, and I get pelted in the head with a ball that was being thrown across the deeper end. All of this done in front of the lifeguards with no reaction. We had an issue when riding Shamrock Swirl the lifeguard at the top told us one position and the lifeguard at the bottom yelled at us for not using the correct. They didn't believe my son when he tried to explain. I came down after him and got the same ribbing from the life guard at the end. Later in the day we were riding the clear blue slide, Mt. Diablue (?), and I was having a hard time getting out of the landing as it was very slippery. The life guard was yelling at me to hurry up and I fell, damaged my toe and when i explained to the lady that i had really hurt myself. She looked at my foot said it was fine and told me to walk it off. I knew I was hurt and though it didn't show immediately it did go completely purple once home. I can chalk this up to me being clumsy but I'm also worried if that were to happen to a child at the park. I can not stress this enough when bringing your children here.. the life guards are not ready. All that aside other things: You can not bring food in so be warned. You're completely at the whim of the stands that may be there. They do change randomly and there's no way to know really what trucks and what type of food is there or if they even take card. If you bring food I suggest leaving it in a cooler in your car if possible and having a picnic in the park outside instead. You can eat out there just fine. Get your hand stamped if you want to reenter. Remind you kids of safety. Be warned that the steps up to the slide can get very slippery. Especially the landings. I would like to encourage the city of Dublin to use more grip strips on the steps. read more

My family and I visited on June 21st 2017. We arrived at about 2pm. I brought my 1 year old to have fun at the main kiddie pool play area and noticed it was closed because a child pooped in it. They cleaned the kiddie pool and reopened it about an hour later. At 4 PM they closed BOTH the large indoor pool and the outdoor pools so that a swim team can use them. The only thing open in the entire swim park was the large slides and the kiddie pool area. Most of the adults and children surged to the kiddie pool area that's meant for little ones. The temperature was about 103 degrees. People were trying to stay cool and overcrowding the kiddie pool. At this point there was nothing to do at the park considering people paid approximately $17 a person. I can't believe they didn't leave at least one pool open for the adults. The kiddie pool was packed with teenagers and adults because there was nothing else for them to do. I will not come back! read more

The place is clean and sort of fun. But prepare to starve and die of thirst!! There is ONE food truck and it is the slowest two people in the food truck industry. Unfortunately, they do not allow food or drinks (except water) to be brought in, so you are stuck with this only option! How bad can it be? Really? 1 hour and 15 minutes for French fries!! That's how bad! Do not come here if you want anything more than water during your visit. read more

A great place for younger kids. I would say 12 and younger. It was nice to have the indoor and outdoor pool as an options. The water slides we're fun too! Reasonably price and plants of seating. read more

I personally think the admission price is a little steep, especially if you have a lot of little ones. Just my son and I came here, we stayed maybe 45min. Not impressed. As other reviews state, I understand not being able to bring in outside food, but I wish they had better food options here. I know when my kids swim, they get hungry! Bathrooms are ok. Wish the showers weren't such a battle. read more

We had a good time at The Wave. It's a lovely facility with a great area for the little ones and really nice pools. It's new, so everything is super clean and nice. But, there definitely could be some improvements. Dublin is HOT and they need more shade. There are barely any umbrellas or other shade cover. It's almost laughable- especially over the picnic tables and the chairs that surround the kids area. There were like 4 total. Ridiculous. The food situation is less than ideal. I totally get not wanting people to bring in outside food. Fine. Just give some options then. The day I was there, there was a burger truck, a taco truck and a sno-cone truck. All were overpriced and absolutely no healthy options. For $20 we got one burger, one fries and one bottle of water. It also took the better part of 30 minutes to get the food. Easily the slowest food truck in existence. If they are not going to sell fruit or other snacks for kids, they should let people bring things in. I do not want to hear any BS about gathering up your kids and your stuff and trucking them across the street to eat food in some other park. Provide better food for your customers and it will be a non-issue. Also, very nice that they employ local teenagers and there seems to be a lot of them, but I want to note here that my husband had to grab a kid who was having some trouble in the pool- the lifeguard didn't jump in or anything. He just blew his whistle. Concerning? read more

Wow, people hating on here like crazy. The place is brand new and will have kinks to work out for sure. We went today regardless of the negative reviews. I recommend going at 11 when they open so you can get a spot in the shade. Also the lines for the slides start getting crazy closer to 3pm when they drop the price. We went on the slides 10 times with almost no lines cause we got threes at 11. The food options need improving but they have already stated on the website they are going to review that after this season. I would come come back as the whole family had a great time today. read more

Went to The Wave for the first time. Had a Cabana rental which was nice, $60 rental. Entry prices were a bit high at $15 per person based on your height. Basically, if your kid is taller than normal, they pay the same amount as an adult. Prices should be based on age and not by height...its kind of discriminating if you ask me. Adults (12+ over) should be $15, Kids (3-11) should be $10 and under 2 should be $3. It ends up to be pretty pricey for what you're getting. $60 for a family of 4 to get in...pretty outrageous. The city should re-evaluate this if they want people to keep coming back. Also, my 2 year old wasn't allowed to slide down a super tiny slide in the kiddie splash area. She couldn't understand this because we recently went to Great Wolfe Lodge and she was able to slide down all of the kiddie slides. This one at The Wave is so TINY! that the slides at the local neighborhood park are are less safe. We even asked if we could be at the bottom to catch her, and they still wouldn't allow it..kind of extreme. All in all, it was meh...there are other options available elsewhere for a lot cheaper with more amenities and not so strict rules. read more

It's not your traditional water park. Came here for a birthday party! It's a very slimmed down version of a water park. Has an area for every age. Cool water slides for kids 36 inches or taller, water amusement area for your tiny ones. For adults they have a pool area with lap Lanes if you want to get a workout in while your kids have fun. I would definitely come back. read more

This place was perfect for my kids' first water slide experience- they had a fabulous time! There was a variety of slides at different speeds/levels, which allowed them to start on the easier ones and work up courage for the steeper ones. The staff and lifeguards were diligent and also super kind and encouraging. The splash zone was fun too. We brought our food and had a picnic outside, which broke up the day nicely (they give in and out privileges). Although there are only 6 slides, we stayed about 4 hours and never got bored. There's a nice shower facility too. A little pricey to go all the time, but it was super fun for a special occasion. read more

expensive ! no healthy food options! No SHADE to watch the younger kids .. read more

We live within walking distance of The Wave, but we only visit 1-2 times per summer. Why? My kids are annoyed there are no diving boards, and also, the slides get kind of boring after a while. I don't feel like spending $60/family of 4 to hit up the place and then have to spend a bunch more on food. It's extremely annoying that you can't bring in your own food. I feel if they would allow outside food and perhaps have an "observer" wristband at a cost of maybe $5, that it would be easier to swallow the price tag. Overall, it's a bit of a let down. :( My kids actually prefer the San Ramon Aquatic Center at Cal High. Go figure! read more

My son had a great 10th birthday here. The pool was quite busy but didn't bother the kids. The line for food was very long.

Please update your hours on all sites including Yelp. I am currently here because your hours indicate that you are open and you are closed. Very disappointed. read more

This place should be ashamed of itself. First, they insist on outrageous entry fees whether swimming or not. Second, they don't care if you're diabetic or in need of your own food. They'd rather make a quick buck on their own food than honor someone's disability. Third, the lifeguards have no tact. They made my daughter cry because she was too tall to use a slide that another taller kid had just used. So, no consistency in their judgment. Finally, they claimed to be sold out, but chose to keep one of the pools closed despite overcrowding. My bet is they were trying to save money on employees instead of keeping their customers comfortable. All in all, my daughter and I had the worst experience at this water park than we've ever had at any other water park, and it was the most expensive of them all to top it off. If you want to waste your money and have a terrible time, finding yourself leaving early because you just give up, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you're better off anywhere else and you'll save money! P.s. they also don't care about the environment like other water parks do. Where's the compost bin? Hopefully the city of Dublin fixes this fast, or at least does the right thing and refunds money to disappointed patrons. I won't be back to find out. read more

FYI - Do NOT book your kids swim lessons at The Wave in Dublin. They have terrible customer service! I planned ahead and booked lessons for my girls. I was able to get classes for both kids each term I was interested in except for the first one which starts tomorrow. When we didn't hear back about the wait list opening we decided to go out of town instead. I called the wave last week to cancel the session we had paid for and was told I would have to go in and fill out a form to request the cancellation. The Wave didn't open until yesterday. I went in today to cancel and was basically told in a very rude way that since it wasn't 4 days ahead I would not be getting a refund. She then read me the policy that included the fact that I could have cancelled by phone. When I told her I did that and they told me to fill out a form she had no response. Plus, how could I have gone in 4 days in advance when they were closed until 2 days before the session begins? After filling out the form and dealing with her attitude I was super mad. So I asked for another form to cancel the rest of my lessons for the summer. She asked why and I told her it was because I was angry about their lack of customer service. Her response was to give me another form and then, turn around to the girl working the water park line and ask her to finish helping me. Then she just walked away with no explanation. Who does that? This person really should not be working in a customer facing job. The Wave needs to realize that they are not the only place in town that offers lessons for swimming. I plan to find a place that treats their customers with respect and not like we're just cash in their pockets. read more

It was one of the hottest days and I, a single adult who is partially still a big kid, went to The Wave alone. And I had fun! I read the reviews and expected the worst but it was much better than what I had read. The park is clean and well maintained. Yes, there's only one food truck but I ate before I got there and ate after I left. Didn't need the food although I wish I had brought water. There are fountains around the park but the water inside them was hot because of the heat. If you are adults without kids, get there early before the summer schools and camps let out. Lots of families arrive around 3pm because the price of the park drops. The lines get longer then too. All of the slides except the two extreme drops are open and lots of fun! Sure, I stuck out among the kid waiting in line but I didn't care. The big out door pool was where most of the adults hang out and it's nice also. Plenty of room for wading and hanging around the side of the pool. I parked myself in the nearby grassy area and enjoyed the sun. My belongings were safe as I roamed the park All in all a good way to spend a hot day. I'll be back. read more

This place is new and a waste of time and money! First day is today and only the three lower slides were open with no intention of opening the other three higher ones. We politely asked for free day passes to another day when the park was completely open. We have 8th graders that were bored within 1 hr since the scary higher slides were closed. The lady in charge was not accommodating our wishes and made us fill out a document to review if we are entitled to a refund. BEWARE. Make sure the park is completely open as it is small and not worth the 17 dollars per person. Concord or Walnut Creek is much more fun for adults and kids. read more

Facilities are very nice and clean. Was hoping for more options for kids to have since swimming pool opens at 1pm. Price is high for family with little ones that will not use slides. Would like to recommend placing more shade options since Dublin is extremely hot. You're not allowed to bring your own umbrella or chairs. Only 3 cabanas available for rent. Several tables and chairs have umbrellas but must be there early. Food options are terrible! Only one food truck which only served fries and would of brought my own food. Had to leave park to go to local Safeway. Would like to have healthier options since food is not allowed. Smoothies, lemonade, and fresh fruit to stay hydrated. Overall if you have little ones you may want to go to another water park. Cost of park not worth it. read more

This place advertises lap swimming, but attempting to exercise in their "lap pool" was a bad experience for me. The pool is a sweltering 85 degrees, which causes headaches if you exert yourself for any extended period. That's a big "if" because it is hard to get a good workout with such slender lanes, and children who don't understand lap swimming etiquette at all. The pool is about 3 feet deep all around, risking head injuries if you attempt flip turns. The pool is indoors, so forget about getting a nice tan while you exercise. While I swam, about half of the pool was roped off so you couldn't do lap swimming. There were only two lanes designated for lap swimming, and they were occupied by kids who were not swimming laps. They have another pool called the "Sports Pool" which is outdoors, and it is designed for lap swimming, but you cannot use it. Only the local team Gators can use it for that. There is no time any day when this beautiful pool is open for lap swimming. It is an embarrassing waste of public dollars. The shower rooms and locker room are beautiful, but the water dribbles out of the shower heads like a light tropical rain. I did feel very safe there, like my stuff would be safe, but I didn't feel safe at all while doing laps. Their "lap pool" is a glorified wading pool for little children. read more

This is the review for the security guards around the pool. They walk around which is good, but most of them are not really paying attention to kids security. Well, I have to say this place is very clean and the two main slides can fully occupy the younger kids like mine (4&6) for hours! They did not want to go home. I really wanted to give this a 5/5 stars but with the snack shack experience I had I cannot. The wave is so clean and the adult rides are awesome. My two littles had a great time in the toddler pool. The snack shack situation is horrendous. If you prohibit outside food, your food offerings and service should be on point. I went to get two hot dog meals with French fries at noon time and there were only two employees working. One taking orders and the other making the food. Both employees were great and the cook was literally running around in the back. But at lunch time shouldn't there be more staff? I literally waited twenty minutes for hot dogs and fries. Staff up please! Or allow outside food. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

This place was so great, I don't know where to start! The kiddie section was super fun and a great opportunity for the little ones to get some water slide action! The water slides were perfect for our ages 40+ adults and 7-11 kids. Each person experienced just the right amount of thrill for them. The concession stand was decent and generally what we expected, with the exception of some great vegetarian options! Aside from nachos, chips, etc., there was also a veggie sandwich and a veggie panini. These vegetarians definitely appreciated that touch. Lastly, the staff... even though mainly teenagers or in their young twenties, they were super friendly, encouraging and really knowledgeable. We can't wait to be back! read more
