Here's what you need to know: very basic British pub food that was very bland and lacked uniqueness. Just an OK selection of beers on tap. I was disappointed in the acclaimed Sunday roast. Excellent service. We went to Drayton Arms on a Sunday afternoon he week leading up to Christmas, and it was moderately full. There were a lot of families/groups dressed in holiday reds and a couple tables set up with Christmas motif for holiday parties. We order a fish n chips, 2 Sunday roasts (beef and Lamb), and a roasted chicken. We fired a couple of stouts and other ales with our meal. All the food was lacking flavor and seasoning, Alas, the meat was very tough, leathery, and super chewy. The pea purée and mash potatoes were creamy and fine. Nobody at the table finished their meals, and we did ask to take away a box with some of the leftovers since which they politely obliged us with. Overall, the service was always with a smile and the staff was super friendly. The beer/ale selection was OK, and I wasn't really enamored with any of the various brews we ordered. We also had a gin n tonic which was well prepared. I would not return here, despite the good service. Unfortunately, the food just left too much to be desired. read more

Drayton arms was recommended to us from another pub. They (other pub) was over run with Chelsea fans. Drayton was a wonderful Sunday Roast. Big servings, delicious gravy on a two slabs of beef. I really enjoyed my supper!! read more

It's actually quite shocking that no one has reviewed this pub yet... it's right across the street from the oh so popular Duke of Clarence, and it's just as good if not better! You'll find Blue Moon, Franziskaner, Sierra Nevada, and a few other hard to find beers on tap here, and even more in bottles - Innis and Gunn is a personal favorite of mine, and this is the first pub in London I've found it at! The food is pretty good pub fare as well. I enjoyed a huge pork and chorizo burger with a chutney compote that was pretty delicious. Next time I'm in the area and don't want to deal with how busy the Duke of Clarence is I'm definitely going to stop in at Drayton - I might even just go there first! On Monday they do a pub quiz - I haven't been yet, but I'm looking forward to checking it out. The rest of the week (except Sundays) they have a theater upstairs that puts on a show at 8pm. How cool is that? And for you wine lovers, Wednesday is 20% off all bottles of wine! read more

This became our neighborhood favorite when we stayed in South Kensington. Dark, relaxed, with nice bartenders and good drink prices. Try the draught Pear Cider, its brilliant. Comfortable seating and a nice mix of patrons made this our home away from home. Now that I'm back in L.A., I find miss it awfully. read more

What is it about good customer service that is so hard to perform? They were nice enough. But, not once did they come by to check on us or make sure the order was correct. Had they come by, we would have asked for more beverages and some ketchup with our fries. The burgers were dry and not very flavorful. The mushroom Risotto was salty. And after waiting forever for our check - despite our plates being cleared and obvious body language, I ultimately had to go ask for the check. read more

Cute and cozy pub in a quiet local London area. Really great atmosphere and selection of beers. We had the British Beef Burger with chips which was juicy and rich, a good burger! Also had the Devon Crab Cakes. These were good, but just not what I was expecting. Fair prices for a good meal. Unfortunately, I found the bartender rather short and rude with me. All the other bartenders I've met are quite friendly and accommodating; but this one seemed to be annoyed that a young yank was there. But the rest of the staff seemed nice! read more

I like the Drayton Arms. I'd put it as a young man's pub, music and a little cool. Lots of wood, nice bar, very good selection of drinks from ales - champagne. The best bit for me though is the breakfast, being a hop skip and a jump from my front door you will find me here recovering with a full English most weekends. Thick door-stop toast, unlimited illy coffee, proper freshly squeezed apple/orange juice. It must be the only F.E. breakfast in SW for a fiver and certainly one of the best. The Drayton Arms is a decent local serving a wide range of quality, no-nonsense traditional pub food, cooked and presented well. They've just brought out a new Spring Menu so I actually need to go back and try some of their new dishes! They've got a great selection of drinks and the pub is in the vicinity of Earls Court, Gloucester Road and South Ken making for an easy route there or back home at the end of the night. This place does get quite busy on a Friday/Saturday and the music can be a tad loud (though I always seem to end up there at the same time the DJ is playing) but it's a great atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable too. They've got a patio area to sit out in as well which I'm sure will be more popular in the coming months! read more

Pretty nice place. Much quieter than nearby Zetland arms and plays better music. The bartenders were quite nice, and a pitcher of pims was very reasonably priced. I would recommend Drayton Arms for a quiet night out, taking it easy on a weekday night. read more

Could this be my new local? This place has all the things you want in a pub: lots of seating, friendly crowd, relaxed atmosphere decent wine list, and good food. We went here after work on a rainy Friday to find it busy but not rammed to the rafters. We ordered a reasonably priced bottle of vino and settled in for the evening - it's the cozy kind of place where you want to spend a damp dark night sheltered from the rest of the world. I liked the high ceilings and big windows, plus there are big tables and corners that are good for groups. I'll definitely be back. read more

Lovely interior, good for a quiet drink or a rowdy group. The food is much better than average pub fare - the Sunday roasts are large and tasty! The staff are really nice and relaxed, and the service is usually pretty swift. The tables can feel a little tacky to the touch - I think it's the cleaning fluid used rather than being dirty tho. The selection of beers (lagers, ales, fruit beer) is impressive for a little pub and the wine list is decent. I am glad it's my local and so is my dog, who is welcomed with open arms when he joins us for Sunday lunch :) read more

Very friendly pub in expensive South Ken. They have quize night on, I believe, Mondays but maybe another day. Tasteful interior with lots of leather couches and nice staff. What else do you want? This place gets fairly busy, so come early if you want a comfortable seat. read more

My brother had a flat in the neighborhood and I stayed a few weeks with him. We were here every day for 3 weeks, sometimes eating all our meals here since he didn't have a kitchen. The Kiwi bartenders were such great guys and we hung out with them in the Star Bar across the street after 11. I was made part of the family in a couple days, had some really great times here. I miss the local pubs of London. I will be back here some day with my wife. read more

The Drayton Arms is a lively traditional pub, suitable for all ages and a great place for all occasions. It has a wide range of draught beers, and a very reasonably priced wine list. Its food menu puts a modern spin on traditional English dishes, and its Sunday Roast is second to none. I am a big fan of the food. And they have a great range too. including great fish and chips!! We came here because we couldn't get a table at the nearby Duke of Clarence and Hereford Arms. So glad we did. It was exactly what we wanted -- a laid back pub with good food, good drinks and an environment where we could bring our kids. My steak was very good. My husband LOVED his pork and chorizo burgers and the kids were happy with their burger and salmon cakes. The kids books and board games were an added bonus. Most English pubs these days are all the same - surly service, fairly crappy food and the same selection of beers. The Drayton Arms is a rare standout, with a different menu and a much different selection of food. They even have outdoor seating! I'd give them five stars, but they don't have TV anywheres - so if there's a big sports match on - check out somewhere else than come over here. read more

Went in for the 'famous' Sunday roast. Ordered the mixed roast (pork loin and 21 day old British sirloin). Meat was thin and dry to look at and to taste. How can you dry out pork? I could do a better job with a cut of meat purchased from Lidl. read more

Great atmosphere. Happened by with 3 on a Wednesday early evening drawn in by the cheeky sign that proclaimed "Free Beer, Topless Barmaids and Barmen, and False Advertising". they were having a £10 burger and drink special. We had 2 beef burgers, one nice grilled chicken breast, assorted toppings on each. Served with fries and topped with a few onion rings. Choice of 2 beers, 2 wines, cider, or soda. Great deal as other times the burger alone is £11. The service was good, though the food was slow, but it was so nice to relax after a day of sightseeing. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was excellent! read more
