The burger is incredible (If you go when the kitchen is open). I legit made it one Sunday and three other tries to have it again, but 3 times, it's been closed. The burger is clearly that good that I'll keep trying, but just hoping that I finally get in again. So tasty! read more

Booked the pub for a family sunday roast as such a pretty setting. Unfortunately food took nearly 2hrs to come to us! Drinks 45 mins!! Had we had been told on seating about this forseen delay we wouldve had the choice to not continue. But there was no courtesy in forwarning us. We had trains to catch and kids to pick up! When the food did arrive itwas a poor imitation of what we'd seen coming out of the kitchen on our arrival. We had to chase staff at least 4 times, for food and for the bill. Avoid Sundays at all costs. read more

I had there the most amazing sunday roast last weekend. The lamb was delicious and was melting in my mouth. The nut roast my friend ordered was also superb. Plus they have a really nice selection of wines and ales to compliment the meal. read more

Wandering through Gabriels Wharf, a friend and I saw this little place and decided to pop in for a quick .. four pints. There's nothing spectacular about this place, it's a Young's pub with standard decore and a regular but good selection behind the bar. However it's a great escape away from the busy prom along the Southbank. It's cosy, with pleanty of sofas and seating. The staff were friendly and accommodating and it's just a very plesant place for a pint. I think based on what's around in the immediate area you can do no better than this place. I saw it advertising tables for new years, which must be a popular choice because of it's positioning. Definatly will be popping back if in the area and in need. read more

I've waited an entire year to write this review! It was about this time last year that me and my wife decided to spend our Christmas in London with visit family and friends. As you can imagine, we were very excited as were our family/friends. We've had many wonderful experiences at Buckingham Arms / Young's Pub in central London so we thought, let's put together a Christmas Day lunch at the Buckingham Arms.............we were very disappointed to learn that Buckingham Arms was closed on Christmas Day, I then searched google and there was an article regarding the best places in London for Christmas Lunch :) Unfortunately, I cannot recall who published the article, I've tried to search but there seems to be no trace! Fast forward........we arrive in to London on the 22nd, obviously, we're very excited to spend Christmas Day with our parents and some very close friends......we arrive to the Mulberry Bush about 30 mins prior to our booking, we grab a drink at the bar, staff are polite and friendly, we're seated in the back/patio area, the table is dirty ans sticky.........we ask to have it cleaned, absolutely not something we should be doing when paying £60+ per head! Well..........I won't bore you with a play-by-play but I can honestly say, hand on my heart, this is the worst meal I've ever eaten, heated up in a microwave, dry, no flavor, basically, absolute crap..........7 of us at the table were disgusted.....ok......I'll give the appetizer a 2/10, the rest of the menu items, it needs to be a minus, what a dreadful experience, a total embarrassment, flying from Phoenix, AZ to London to spend Christmas Day with our loved ones.........completely ruined by the rubbish served up by Mulberry Bush! So I waited a year to write this review, I'm hoping it saves some poor souls who are looking for wonderful last minute Christmas Day Lunch..........do not walk-away from the thought of possibly booking the Mulberry Bush for your Christmas Day Lunch........run as fast as possible.........not only will you save yourself from trying to digest something out of a microwave, you'll also save yourself £60+ per head..................... My hopes in writing this review is that I save some poor soul/s from experiencing what will be the worst Christmas Day Lunch of your lives! Cheers! read more

This is perhaps one of the nicest pubs I've been to in London in terms of the space, food and atmosphere (so pretty much everything!). It was very busy but luckily my savvy friend had booked us a table in advance. We had to ask people to move a little so we could sit at that table but the other customers were friendly and polite too. The drinks were reasonably priced for London and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the buttermilk chicken burger - definitely the nicest chicken burger I have ever had. I hate to use this word but it was moist! It was tasty, the brioche bun was at the right level of not too crispy and not soggy, and it was served with plenty of chips. One of my friends had the pie which looked great with a good proportion of meat to pastry. Others had a couple of the starters instead of a main. The menu suggests two to three per person if not having a main but they are decent size portions so perhaps go for two unless you're really hungry! If you register for their newsletter you get a free drink voucher emailed to you which you can show on your phone at the bar. I was really impressed with the house white wine so having a free glass was a nice little bonus. There are so many places nearby, especially along the Southbank but I really recommend venturing just a little further behind to check out the Mulberry Bush. It's worth it! read more

Really nice atmosphere at this Young's owned pub, very warm feeling and welcoming including the staff, plenty of tables to chat at and private areas to eat and drink, I can't rate the food as I only had a pint of Stout (which was lovely) and as you can see from my photo of their starters and main courses looks very tempting!, this pub is opposite ITV Studios and is known for a lot of stars and celebrities popping in from time to time so if you do pop in for a pint or a bite to eat you never know who you might bump into! read more

What a pleasant surprise!!! I am not a big fan of pubs for a number reasons, sticky floors, musty smells, low levels of cleanliness, the odd group of people who have had one to many and have resorted to screaming to the person next to them. So when I visited Mulberry Bush for a work leaving drinks/dinner I was very taken a back but in a good way. We had a huge table at the back of the pub which had a table service. The Pub itself was open space, clean and no weird smells, a great selection of food and drinks, the staff are friendly and helpful. I had the fish and chips and i have to say the fish was perfectly cooked, the chips could have done with being cooked a little more but they were still edible. We were a large group of 8 people and each of us were happy with our food orders and drinks. Its a little tucked away at the back of southbank so you might want to use your citymapper. read more

From the outside this place looks expensive, and modern and the sort of place there all the bright, beautiful and affluent congregate... basically, the sort of place a short, fat, balding and inherently scruffy man will look really out of place in. But I went in anway. Inside is decidedly more inviting than I anticipated and full of more normal looking folks than I was expecting, regular folks who likewise just wanted a pint and a chat after work. They had an English IPA on tap that was really very good - 2 of us had that and the third in our group a cider he had never heard of that was likewise very good. This lovely little pub has a relaxed atmosphere and a modern vibe but I also really love the food there. The fish and chips is massive, the fried squid and the breakfast with the bacon and eggs absolutely delicious. You should also try the beef burger and the skinny fries (if you can ask for them instead of the thick ones in the other dishes as well do so). There are board games there as well so if you have some extra time in your hands you can also play a bit while eating. That's a full package right there! read more

The Mulberry Bush is a Young's pub and this means you are pretty much guaranteed a friendly, inexpensive pint here. The interior is like any other Young's pub, it's really down to earth and relaxed. The usual bog standard wood furnishings etc and staff that are friendly but not over the top. The day I was in here there were a lot of tourists. I'm not sure how I feel about drinking in these kinds of pubs. I prefer something a little off-beat, quirky and different and Young's pubs like The Mulberry Bush just aren't good enough in my eyes - they are all cut from the same mold. read more

I've been here a few times - Mulberry Bush is around the corner from my office - for both lunch and midweek post-work drinks, both of which it's great for. The "posh fish fingers" at lunch are delicious, but the chips can be hit or miss (once they were a bit cold, another time they were hot but overly greasy). The covered outdoor-ish area out back is lovely - bright and comfortable - and the bar itself has a bit of a rustic chic feel to it, which unfortunately extends to wobbly tables. But the staff is lovely and the food has yet to disappoint. read more

I really liked this place and I'm surprised it doesn't have better reviews! We had a get-together here for about 20 people. The staff was extremely accommodating, even when we decided to change plans a bit a few weeks before. Even though we had never met, all of the staff knew who I was when I introduced myself and they were very welcoming and warm. Communication before the party was also easy and quick with all my questions promptly being answered and email turnaround the same day. The atmosphere inside is great with a variety of tables and chairs, sofas, and a raised area. It's warm and comfortable and although the outside seems a bit more swanky I think everyone would feel comfortable here. The beers are good are reasonably priced, the food is also good with decent portion sizes for the price, and overall this is a place I would happily return to again. read more

Well this pub is a little bit cheaty! From the outside, all rather lovely. It looks all secret and posh and tucked away. A bit gastro-pubby, but you're behind the OXO Tower. And then, you get in and it's all a bit... Yate's Wine Lodge. The fancy bar snack menu is actually standard pub grub. The ale is Youngs (which I've never been a fan of) and you get a choice of three. Only one of those is vaguely interesting, although the Bombardier I had was kept well. But that's like saying 'they put the wine in the fridge'. Throw in some awful music, blase staff and a quiz machine and we found ourselves perched outside. Suddenly, despite it being busy due to the Thames Festival, it was much more enjoyable. This pub will always appeal from the outside. I just wonder how many returning visitors it has. read more

My friend's mad for Young's Gold (whatever that is), and whilst this is apparently a Young's pub, they didn't have any when we came here on Friday (yes, Royal Wedding day, woop!), which put her in a thoroughly bad mood. As it was, we'd been traipsing all over London all day and I'd been up since 3am to drive from Leeds for the festivities, and so there was quite a lot of tired grumpiness in the air, which didn't help. But, the bar staff were friendly, the armchair by the open front of the pub was comfy, and I could happily have supped my pint of Staro and had a snooze. It must be nice to run a pub opposite a great big office block. Constant stream of customers, good relations with the punters, and, of course a flood on Friday afternoons. Lucky for The Mulberry Bush it sits right outside ITV studios and office. So it's almost constantly filled with TV types shouting about TX dates, ratings and cross platform innovation among other things. And lucky for ITV that The Mulberry Bush is pretty damn nice. A good selection of ales and bottles, friendly staff, and a menu that at first glance seems a teensy bit steep, but is redeemed by awesome portion size. A friend ordered the plowman's - it was served on a chopping block almost the size of the table. She had no hope of finishing it. Outside seats too. read more

Went here on Christmas eve to escape the cold. Very relaxing pub just a little bit away from the main riverfront. Food is well priced considering the area (£10 for a main) and very tasty. Coupled with excellent and attentive service means we will definitely be back. read more

Mulberry Bush has the feel of a living room, a nice departure from the typical pub environment which I admittedly dread. A popular watering hole for working professionals, including those from the adjacent ITV studio. In the spring time their patio doors open wide, making the entire dining area an open veranda. read more

With all the modern construction in the Southbank area, it is nice to find a clean and crisp pub that blends the shine of the new with the traditions of the old. It is a Young's pub (in the UK many pubs are aligned with specific brewers) so if you like the Young's suite of ales you will be a happy drinker. When it comes to food, I can vouch for the appies and the burgers. Very good. Nothing fancy. The staff is very nice. It's the closest cozy pub to the hotel and offices at Sea Containers. read more

A nice little surprise, the Mulberry Bush is hidden away from the Riverside Walk on Upper Ground, nestled between some flats. It's position means it's never too crowded and although modern in style it still has some character about it. Regular drinks are sometimes supplementd by some guest ales and a fairly expensive menu. There's a quiz machine that I won a tenner on once, and it's opposite the ITV London Studios so you might find yourself having a pint next to anyone from Cilla Black to, God forbid, Jeremy Kyle. read more

Also, great for star spotting as it's opposite the GMTV studios (we saw Ant & Dec, Gordon Ramsay and Bryan from Westlife in one sitting ! ).
