We went for the first time yesterday and all I can say is that it was wonderful!! Very kind employees and the treats were so good!! My son and I both got Dolly's Dream. The only thing I'd add to this place would be a water pitcher and later hours. We've tried to go in the past but it closes earlier than most ice cream places in town.

Pretty good, and despite what you might expect, the fish has never once had that fishy taste, so…read moregreat and that's a better showing than a lot of the sushi places around here! I recommend the fried offerings, shrimp shumai, the egg rolls for sure, they are excellent. The dumplings are fine, the octopus balls are great, but off the menu I think. The dipping sauces for these is a favorite of mine. I typically get a sushi burrito. I recommend a spicy hot cheeto in one, it weirdly works with the right combination of stuff. The marinated tuna is alright and so is a shrimp tempura as protein. Otherwise, whatever you like. I typically do carrots, edamame, oshinko (pickled, radish I suspect), maybe seaweed salad. Avocado is nice, but of course has an up upcharge. Pretty good, the poke bowls are decent too, I hear.

A bunch of veggies along with yum yum sauce on top. Got the seaweed on the side since my husband don't like it. I was not wanting to eat too much so we shared this. I did eat the tuna and some of the spicy but couldn't eat anymore. Everything was nice and fresh. The employee was very understating being our first time here. We really enjoyed this and would stop back for sure. This is the fast food of sushi if your in a hurry. They work pretty fast and you could have your food within minutes. Don't pass it by if you like poke bowls.

Puppy-Approved Pit Stop…read more A quick trip to the Asheville area to grab some equipment turned into a brunch stop on the way home! With our pup in tow, we needed somewhere dog-friendly with outdoor seating -- and this place delivered. It was raining when we pulled up, but the patio was well-covered with plenty of seating. Staff even moved our table to keep us clear of the weather and made sure our seats were fully dried off before we sat down -- small touch, big impression. Our hostess greeted us with menus -- including a menu for the pup! Absolutely adorable, and such a nice touch that they cater to the four-legged family members too. Our waitress was just as sweet, friendly and on top of everything throughout the meal. We kicked things off with a "Make It Spicy" Mary and an IPA. Fried green tomatoes are a must-order for me wherever I go, and this version -- panko-crusted, served over creamy stone-ground goat cheese grits with red pepper coulis and fresh basil -- lived up to every word of that description. Crispy, creamy, with a nice pop of flavor: proper Southern cooking. For mains, I went with the sweet & spicy fried chicken & waffles -- hand-breaded crispy tenders drizzled with sriracha honey over golden buttermilk waffles -- and it did not disappoint. Sweet, savory, perfectly crisp, with waffles that were light and fluffy with a gorgeous golden crust. I cleared my plate. My partner, on the other hand, wasn't a fan of his bourbon peppercorn glazed meatloaf (a scratch-made beef and chorizo blend) -- so much so that he left most of it and said flatly, "It's gross, I'd never order that again." The mashed potatoes, at least, were a hit. A little bittersweet for me, since I loved everything on my plate and wished he'd had the same experience. So we'd come back, he'd just order something else next time!

SMALL HIDDEN GEM! I…read morewasn't expecting much, but wow they have everything you need here, and they fit it in such a small shop! My favorite parts are the aisle full of alllllll the sauces, and the wide selection of drinks ranging from canned boba to bottles of ramune soda. I was happy to finally find some hot sesame oil here in Asheville. The only downside is that it doesn't have the large selection of fresh meat and produce like other large Asian supermarkets I am used to back in larger cities. I'll definitely be back when I need some more Asian food items.

It's been a few years since I have shopped at Lee's Asian Market, but today I went back to look for…read moresome Vietnamese ingredients for some upcoming Lunar New Year's food. The stores isn't large, but it's pretty well stocked. I have been to the larger Asian market, YZ, and I think Lee's Asian Market has a smaller overall stock of things, but what it does have, you'll get several brands. For example, I needed Pandan extract. At YZ, I could only find the McKormick's Buco Pandan flavoring. At Lee's there were 3 brands of Pandan flavoring, including the Pandan flavored paste I was looking for, which is also sold by Amazon for about $6, at Lee's it was only $1.50 or so. The owner, a nice Chinese woman speaks English pretty well and is very friendly. That's somewhat rare in Asian markets. She walked me over to the steamer area and gave me some advice on using the bamboo cone, which is what I ended up buying. She also helped me find the frozen Pandan leafs. She is super sweet and nice, which I appreciated. I also found some fresh sticky rice and sweet banana cakes near the register. They had two square Banh Tet (Vietnamese new year cakes with mung bean and pork) as well. I haven't seen fresh cakes like that at the other Asian stores, so Lee's gets bonus points for this!
