As a celiac, I made so that they have a dedicated fryer for their fries/tater tots, and they did, so naturally I had to get those. I decided on the sweet potato tots and they were just delectable. I was also craving something fresh, so I got the BBQ Chicken bacon ranch salad. Perfect meal after driving for hours on end. We even came back the next day and I got the exact same meal. The servers were also very patient and knowledgeable. I don't live anywhere near here, but whenever I come back to the area I'll be sure to return to this restaurant.

Once you step inside you are transported to a killer brew pub dimension. The place was moderately busy for 1:30 on a Wednesday and we were immediately greeted by the bartender. We analyzed the tap list and narrowed it down quickly to the 3 IPAs brewed by these guys. We ended up trying all 3 and overall I would give the beer an 8 out of 10. I love a Boneyard RPM or Ft. George 3-way. I have been away from Oregon Craft for about a year so I am a little off my game but I didn't leave a drop in those pint glasses. We both ordered the smash burger and fries with some jalapeño aioli sauce. The fries were maybe the best fries I've ever had. I literally put my head down and chowed through them all before realizing I had a burger too. Smash burger is true to form dressed with melted cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. The bun had been fried in magic sauce to a crispy texture before they built the burger. We were blown away at how good it was!! We went to Sunriver Brewing on Wednesday night and think Initiative won our personal award for that day!! Highly recommend you check it out and I want to go again before I have to leave town!!

It sits in an old storefront on what feels like a once-vibrant main street. The cozy colorful lights are welcoming. They have a larger outdoor seating area, but on the freezing cold night I visited, I opted for a seat at the small bar. There were large boisterous parties nearby, it was clearly a popular spot. The beer selection is large, with various serving sizes. Flights of 4 are only $8 here. They also had a number of bottled and can selections, even some from other breweries. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly, as were other patrons so it ended up being a fun evening of beer and fun talk. If you're a beer fan, this is a must stop in Redmond. There are also other excellent breweries within walking distance.

We got the cold noodles from the Asian food truck and gluten free fried pickles from another one. The cold noodles were excellent and the fried pickles were a bit salty but also very good. I wrong, that first visit was Strike One! At our second visit we found what we thought was a nice table and ordered some drinks at the bar. My drink did not taste right. I took it back and told the bartender what I had ordered. She quickly prepared the correct drink. It was good. Not long after that the wind came up. We were all getting cold and agreed that we were not enjoying the experience. We left. Strike Two! The third time we came prepared for the cold and found a table that we thought was protected from the wind. We ordered drinks and food, from the food trucks, and settled in for a pleasant evening with friends. Soon the wind started blowing dust and dirt around us. We tossed nearly half of the food in the trash because it was too dirty to eat. Strike Three! Sorry Food Truck People, what we were able to eat was good; but, we will not be returning to Blacksmith Public House.
