It was the best salad we ever ate, the best bread, the best butter, the best seafood, the best sides. I have traveled to Chicago to eat at Michelin starred restaurants and my experience last night for our anniversary dinner stood right beside that in almost every way. The service, the food, the timing, to perfection. If i have to find anything at all to give actual feedback on, it would be that the quality of the white wine selections are a bit lacking for how amazing the rest of the experience is. It was $42 for a bottle of something thats not even a top 3 wine at kroger. So thats my one ding guys if managers are reading. Find a wine person to liven up the list and get creative . Keep prices down but options interesting, and inspired. If you are a true foodie that is constantly looking for that one true perfect experience where everything is done perfectly and the best version you have ever tasted or experienced that is what i had last night. Since it was my one and only time visiting i cant be for sure if it was a purple squirrel but i will be testing the theory soon. They even caught the note i left on open table about my wife not being able to eat chocolate and only offered us compatible desserts. Incredible. Get the carrot cake. You have never tasted anything better. 99/100 points and i don't think i can give anything else in Cincy or dayton over 80 points.

Best seafood boil I've had in Columbus!…read more Kai's Crab Boil is hands down one of my favorite seafood spots in Columbus. The gumbo is fantastic and honestly some of the most authentic I've had here in Columbus. It's packed with flavor and really stands out. Their shrimp and crab with the garlic butter sauce at a medium heat level is absolutely incredible. The seasoning and spice are perfect, and paired with their cornbread... OMG It's SO good! The service was great, and the ambiance was really nice too. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for a seafood boil with authentic Cajun/Creole flavors, I definitely recommend Kai's. Everything we had was delicious, and I can't wait to go back!

I think I would be delighted with fried clam strips, and the grilled grouper. With hush puppies. It was explained that they source their seafood from a fresh seafood market in Columbus, so you know you're getting quality. The service was very good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The dinning room is nice, low light and low music playing. It seemed to get a little smokey in there but it wasn't bothersome. Our server was so lovely! And another lady that was floating around checking on tables was very sweet and fun! We really struggled with our ordering and "locking it in"...therefore we ended up ordering what felt like half the menu. For appetizers, we got calamari and the baked crab dip. The calamari was pretty light and delicious. The crab dip was heavy and but had a great flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips but it was great with the bread that came to our table. The bread basket came out steaming and the butter was amazing we had to ask for extra. The butter is whipped and has green onions in it. Hubby and daughter each got clam chowder--it was different from what they are used to (and they are both clam chowder connoisseurs) but they still thought it was very good--just thinner and a lot more meaty ingredients. Daughter loved the halibut with risotto. Hubby really enjoyed the boathouse burger--bacon jam was new for him but he loved it. Though the burger was messy--he definitely cleaned the plate. My seafood platter was pretty good, I ate the scallops and coconut shrimp first. Then came our next dilemma...dessert!! So we each got one! We also got a milk tea with rainbow jelly and a Vietnamese coffee (both delicious). The restaurant was calm and clean, and the noise levels were moderate (I'm a fan of the Bruno Mars playing over the house speakers...thank you for not cranking the volume to eleven like so many places do!)
