I've never been here, & had heard all the hype about how GREAT this place. So, on a whim we went to give it a try. It was a Sat night, and although the lot was full the restaurant didn't appear to be busy. This was good for our family of 4. It means we had a slight wait of 3-5 minutes. Salad was okay, a nice change with the peas. Our entrees were served piping HOT! The flavor was good, but not on the same level of Red Lobster. And definitely nowhere near McMormick & Schmitt's either. The price is similar to Red Lobster, but you might as well go there. As for the location, it's nice to have a decent restaurant closer to home. So, if you're visiting western Clark county it would be an okay stop for dinner. read more

Generally a very good choice. Specials always sound amazing but are available only certain weekends that we never seem to be there. Great bar with lots of choices. Menu is mostly seafood but does have a few other options. Strange to walk into the main entrance....looks very old and dated, but ask for the back area...fun Margaritaville atmosphere with large open windows and a patio when weather allows. read more

Margaritaville smack dab in the middle of a cornfield (well, darn close!!) in Enon, Ohio?!? Suuuure!! Pretty packed on a warm, sunny Friday night, but we sat at the bar and really didn't have a long wait at all for a table. Great atmosphere, good service, and quite a few interesting surf/turf choices!! Every entree comes with a mini loaf of white and brown bread and a salad (check out the special "dock" salads with tangy house dressing!) I had a combo with a pan-seared fillet, broiled scallops, and shrimp (good, but sorta skimpy for the price!) and chose a baked sweet potato for a side, while my guy had a suuuper tender cut of steak. Was tempted to try the key lime pie for dessert-- Next time!! Friday night included some live music, with two locals playing the tropical tunes. Great seating in the "boathouse" and outside... Can't go wrong for the food, atmosphere, and "taste of the tropics!" read more

This place is 15 minutes from our house. Had wanted to visit since I was a kid. And when I finally had the chance I was sooo disappointed. The building outside is nice and makes you think your actually eating at a dock. The patio was really nice with ponds. However the inside needs updated severely. Apparently the air conditioning was broken there were box fans everywhere. Very small from what we could see. There was a room blocked by a divider. I ordered filet of sole which came out in a puddle of grease. Couldn't even eat it. Oysters were actually bad also. You could tell they were aged. Not a place I will visit again. So disappointed in a local restaurant. read more

The atmosphere is excellent, the staff is very friendly, but the food is horrible. I ordered the "Poor Man's Grouper" (I should've known better when they call it that!) Anyways, the menu says it's a local favorite, and that you can get it Blackened if requested. So I ordered it Blackened and it came battered with the edges burnt! So the waitress sent it back to the cook. She brings it back and says the cook said that it was indeed blackened. Wrong. So she kindly had another one made, and it comes back breaded with black edges again! Unbelievable. I took a bite out of the new one anyways and it was mushy inside. I ate the baked potato and shoved the plate out of my way. The waitress never offered to take it off our bill. I paid the bill in full and tipped our waitress as well, but I'll never go there again. A total disaster! read more

We met one of my salesmen from out of town here. Non of us had ever been here, but always wanted to try. Wife had filet mignon. She is STILL raving about how good it was! I had the Seafood Portabella. FATASTIC! Salesmen had the Scallops. He said they were Great! All around VERY good dinner and fair prices! Definitely Recommend! read more

We normally only go to The Dock once or twice a year until this weekend. We went Friday night and the food and service where very good. Super nice place and atmosphere. The highlight for us and everyone else in the place was the entertainer Katfish Karr. He is a monstrous talent and was a real joy to listen to. He made our night. We liked him so well we came back with friends Saturday night. Why he is not the house band and there every weekend is beyond us. We've heard some of the other groups there and they're OK, however this guy is a cut above the rest. There's no reason why he wouldn't pack the place on a regular basis. I know we would be there. I normally don't write reviews but this guy deserve's the recognition. He's not only a great entertainer he's also very polite, humble and made us feel welcome when he came to our table to talk to us. If you get a chance go see him We plan on coming back when he's there and we are also getting a group together for New Years Eve at The Dock. Great food, Great place, Great entertainment! read more

The $18 crab cakes were like the ones you get for a dollar a piece at the grocery store near the seafood. You know the ones, small, dense and wet. The Dock's crab cakes were seriously identical to those. They were sopping wet on the inside, not even really warm. The rolls they brought out were room temperature day old (if they made them in house). We only split that one meal and I had a margarita (wife had a beer) and our bill was around $34. I love their atmosphere and if I ever hear that they start taking food as serious as their customer's money, I'd go back. The restaurant has nothing to apologize for, we just have two different philosophies on what food should be. read more

This is an unusual restaurant with seafood specials in the middle of Podunk Ohio. I had the fried seafood bucket most everything was very tasty, except the oysters which were mushy. The hash brown casserole was quite pedestrian. My wife enjoyed the shrimp scampi baked potato and salad thought they were delish. The service was attentive and friendly. We were past the dinner rush so we could Cleary hear the local yokes discussing their problems with Obama, Muslims, welfare rats running around the local Y and why they have the right to say Merry Christmas. read more

Seriously loved the atmosphere here. However the food literally made me through up within 25 minutes of eating. I had a steak and the mango margirita. I kept telling my husband that the steak didn't taste or smell right...but I kept eating it. Next thing I knew I threw up on the way home. Won't be back and if I do....never to order food just bottled beer. Staff and service was nice. This does look like a hot spot for locals. They seemed to be surrounded at the bar and weren't too friendly. read more

Very bad experience. Arrived on time for 7 o'clock reservation for 12 people. At 8:44 we gave up And left after having only received two appetizers. Did not seat us together. Had to ask later to be moved so we could be together. At no point did the wait staff let us know they were short handed. Finally asked and found out our dinner order had not been started after over an hour and a half. Too bad- it's a great location- likely will not try again. read more

Portions keep shrinking, prices & quality stay the same. Got a long John's size piece of grouper & a McDonald's small fry for $12 as the "poor mans grouper".... the bar is the only decent thing about this place anymore. We only come when my cousin makes us. Hoping that can end soon. read more

I have had recent occasion to return twice for dinner with friends. I must say the food has improved TREMENDOUSLY. I enjoyed my pan seared fish and the shrimp very much! I would say give this place a try but stick with the grilled and seared items. The boat house seating is very fun with live music, feels like Florida or California. read more

This place is a total butterservice. It has great food...butterservice (see also, Peach's Grill in Yellow Springs). That's really all you need to know. Judging by the other reviews I've read, I think my experience was pretty typical. We were seated in the cozy, fireplace-laden "boathouse" dining area. Abundant nautical decorations give one the sense of being about to embark on a months-long sea voyage, which is appropriate because you are about to embark on what feels like a months-long voyage. Call ahead and you will actually be seated rather quickly, but don't let that fool you. After being seated you can expect to wait about 15 minutes for the server to come by and put a bowl of butter packets on your table. Don't worry, she will be back in about half an hour with the bread. In the meantime, you can sample some of the butter to get an idea of what you'll be working with later or you can steal some bread from an unoccupied table to speed up the process (as we contemplated doing). When your server comes to take your drink order I recommend providing her with several suitable options as they will almost certainly be out of at least half the drinks you order. I would also recommend asking for two of whatever you do end up getting, since after you get your drinks you are going to have to navigate the long, server-less doldrums that take place before getting your entree. You might also want to consider just walking up to the bar to get drinks since it's only like 20 feet away. Expect the wait for the entree to take at least 45-60 minutes from the time you actually put in the order. To pass the time, you might consider reading the rude little sign on your table that tells you to move to the bar once you finish eating to make way for a fresh set of customers. The Dock is apparently the restaurant equivalent of that friend who is perpetually very late to everything, but the minute someone else is holding up the show they raise holy hell. To their credit, the food at The Dock is quite good, especially considering it's a seafood restaurant in a small town in Ohio. I sampled several different appetizers and entrees and literally everything was delicious. Unfortunately this fact tends to be overshadowed by the absurdly slow service. That said, I think a restaurant's food quality should be more important than its service, and that is why I'm still giving the The Dock a halfway decent rating. In fact, I might actually go back at some point because I actually did have a good time, it was just a much longer time than I was expecting. DOCK CHEAT SHEET: PROS: Great food; fun, pleasant atmosphere CONS: Mind-bogglingly slow service; out of a lot of things, particularly beers RECOMMENDED FOR: the highly patient; stoners; bored retirees; those needing to kill 2 1/2 to 3 hours PRO TIPS: give your server optional selections in case they are out of your first choices; walk up to the bar to get drinks; BYO Bread read more

Hate that we wasted our Friday night dinner here. The atmosphere was cold and dark. No music when we first got there, then it was too loud. Food was terrible. Beer was flat. Bathroom was dirty. Only redeeming quality was our waitress, who was very nice. read more

I had not been here in several years, so a group of us came for a business dinner. It was as good as I remembered. The restaurant is quite unusual for this area, reminding me a lot of the seafood restaurants near where I now live near Mobile Bay. Our seafood dinners were all perfectly prepared and delicious. The service was spot on and the prices are very reasonable. read more

A really fun restaurant! Makes you feel like you're on vacation. Very reasonable priced drinks and great food. Worth the drive!

Cool funky spot to grab some better than average seafood. Great service. Get the Aha tuna it is cooked to perfection and tastes excellent fried pickles were good as well. Fun place to hang out tasty tap beer. read more

This is just a little place in the middle of the heartland. Are you going to find gastronomic pleasures found in NYC or LA. Absolutely NOT. But that isn't what they are trying to be. I found them to be a good, family owned restaurant that offers a little something more than meat and taters (although that is great too!). I ordered the Sesame Ahi, rare, and was so pleasantly surprised! It was delicious!!! The gentleman I was with ordered stuffed flounder, and although it may not have been the best he ever had it was good (and he has been all across the USA). All in all - A very lovely place to go. Great service, wonderful atmosphere and a surprisingly broad menu! read more

VERY SLOW SERVICE for just below average food. Have been here about 4 times, mainly because friends wanted to go, food was down right awful. I am a local and want to support local businesses, but this place is not a good place to spend my hard earned money. read more

We've visited The Dock off and on for more than 20 years, and during the past few years we've been more and more disappointed in the food and the condition of the restaurant property. We met friends for dinner there last evening. When we arrived at 4:35pm, we found a "Closed" sign on the door which was locked , despite their 4:30pm advertised opening time. It was so hot in the restaurant we were miserable. The only air conditioning in the dining room was a window unit in the wall right above our table. It was so inefficient it was useless. When it did turn on, it was so loud we had difficulty holding a conversation. The flooring in the dining room looks like it has been there forever and a day, and it looks very dirty. On the wall beside our table was a streak of food debris from who-know-where-or-when. For dinner, my husband ordered the extra large Dock salad with chicken for $13.99. He said the salad greens were not fresh and the chicken was overcooked. I ordered the sea scallops for $25.99, described as "pan seared and topped with scampi butter". They were smallish, overcooked, and virtually flavorless. For my side, I ordered fries and got about a dozen which were undercooked and cold. The three others in our party ordered the Poor Man's Grooper beer battered and deep fried for $14.99 each. The portions were huge. The beer batter was not at all crispy and it fell off the fish as soon as they tried to cut into it. One member of our party uses a wheelchair which could not fit into the tiny restroom. There was a young man walking around the dining room with a walkie talkie that squawked loudly. The only bright spot was our server, Juli. She was very friendly and efficient. Overall, the restaurant is so outdated and poorly maintained and the food so subpar and overpriced, we won't be returning. A sad ending to a long relationship. read more

Do not go here. It's not worth the money. They staff is slow and will not ask you how your meal is. They are to busy talking to each other behind the bar. You can get a better a meal at Red Lobster. Darrell was the name I heard called to the guy working the bar and he can't even say "Thank You or have a Nice Day" because he is busy talking to other staff . Steamed crab legs I could have done at home. read more

This place is great. The atmosphere and service is great, food was amazing too! Especially for the price. We got an ice cold craft beer ($5 for a tall one) and a great banana mixed drink to start. Warm rolls, the grilled salmon with cranberry butter was the best piece of fish I have had in a while. Green beans almondine, grilled pork chops, baked potatoes and the kids fish is huge! Would highly recommend this place if you are tired of boring chain restaurants. The Owner stopped by and made sure everything was good and even introduced himself, shook my hand and thanked us for coming in. You wont find that too often. read more

Dirty, dingy. Got rotten lime in my drink, alerted the waitress who brought me another...rotten lime, didn't offer to replace my drink the rotten lime was in. The fry grease hadn't been changed in weeks, I am pretty sure, scallops were like rubber and every piece of fried fish had raw breading. Worst meal, ever...and I ate Army food for 6 years! read more

The new bartender needs help in making a descent margarita, the one he fixed for me was terrible.

Wife and I and another couple went to Dock after several years of not being there. The other couple ordered the Prime rib weekend special. Both ordered them rare. Both came out, one was light pink and other was brown. The waitress sent the back and cook sliced another light pink one and said that's as rare as they get. I ordered the Seafood Platter. What a scam. The juicy clam strips were crispy to point of being crunchy. No moisture inside at all. The shrimp were overcooked and tough. What ever the poor mans grouper was, it wasn't anything like grouper. The fries were just like the clam strips...crunchy. My wife had the tilapia and it looked like one of them you get in frozen food dept at grocery store. it was fried, not deep fried like my platter, but it was still crispy. I guess the cook believes everything gets cooked his/her way. Our visit was a Sat evening 5:30 and room was filled with kids in sports uniforms. Loud and feisty, not what one would expect in classy restaurant. Waitress was pleasant but friendly service with poor food is still poor food. Prices are high to the point you expect good food. read more

I ordered a Whiskey Sour to start. It came, and had a fruit-fly in it! It's a fact that if a bar is dirty enough to have fruit-flies in the liquor bottles, that the kitchen is going to be unsanitary as well. I did order food anyway. Breaded clams for an appetizer Deep-Fried Seafood Combo with coleslaw for the side I was born and raised in Florida, where we went out and got our own seafood, FRESH. The place has ridiculous prices for FROZEN food, that they try to pawn off as FRESH. When I cut into my fish it was full of water that ran all over my plate, a dead give a way that it was frozen. Same with the rest of my fried food. It was the second time in 5 years that my wife and I gave them a chance. Never again! read more

The outside deck was nice but the food and the service were terrible! We read that this was voted "best seafood" in the area. The voters must have been people who have never eaten sea food. The oysters were hard and rubbery, the blackened red snapper greasy and overcooked, the crab legs cold. We got a twice beaked potato that was just gross. They charged $4.95 for a salad the size of a small bowl. Don't ever go here for food! A beer on the deck might be nice, though. P.S. as we left we found the entire wait staff out front smoking cigarettes. No wonder the service sucked. read more

The atmostphere is actually kind of nice for the area, and in the summer I could see it being an o.k. place to sit on the patio and have a beer. It's the fanciest place in Enon, Ohio, but the food is very mediocre and overpriced. To someone who has eaten at many nice restaurants, the food is just so-so, and the prices are on par with much nicer restaurants (10 oz. ribeye for $21, $22 for 8 oz. of scallops). No special creativity, no special care, no well-thought-out theme, no focus on fresh or local. I'm sure there are good things on the menu, but if you've spent much time in a city bigger than Springfield, don't come expecting something spectacular. read more

My husband and I celebrated Valentines Day on 2/15/14 due to the weather being so bad Friday 2/14/14. We had a wonderful evening I would go as far as saying it was perfect! The food was great and the service was outstanding. We where treated like royalty by the staff. We also enjoyed a masterful performance by Katfish Karr. We've heard him before and always try to make a point to be there when he performs. His music is the only music I can get my husband up to dance to. He is awesome. If you have never been to The Dock you need to go. The food is AWESOME along with a very professional wait staff. A winning combination for sure. I've seen reviews all over the board for this place but trust me for a nice evening you can't beat The Dock. read more

We have been to the Dock a few times in the past so the 45 minute drive was expected. We had our hearts set on the scallops, but were very surprised when this seafood restaurant informed us that they are out of scallops??!! So we decided on something else, not want we wanted to do. Ordered a salad with our meal, this is extra because it is not included with a meal (??) and ordered blue cheese. Oops! They are out of blue cheese. Ordered a pork chop, not bad, but not worth the price considering the size. The baked potato was good and was larger than the chop! For the price Red Lobster is closer. read more

I used to love this place. We have been coming for years and years. Last weekend, I met several adults and brought my 7 year old daughter. She has autism and is a very picky eater. They have a kid's menu but it has things on it like shrimp and fried fish. I love that food, but unfortunately she won't touch it. I got her a Happy Meal to keep her occupied and fed while my party ate and drank. Bear in mind, the adults in my party ordered wine, appetizers, extra salads, and meals. It came out to a big check. After we ordered our dinners and the wine/app was out, a different waitress (not our server) came over and announced outside food isn't allowed in The Dock, though she said THIS time they'd let it slide...not in the future. I suppose they couldn't kick us out by that time because we'd ordered so much food by the time they noticed my kiddo's food? I have done this at many other places (including bringing food she'll eat from home) so my daughter can eat something and the adults can order dinners and enjoy themselves....never has another place said a word about it. She's otherwise well behaved and she's a little kid ...it's not a place geared towards kids, at least in terms of their menu. We spent a ton of money and it was obvious by that point they stood to make a good check off my party. I didn't like it and how it went down. I won't be back. read more

We have been going to the Dock for several years now and we have always been pleased with our meals. My wife had the pan seared seafood combo, which she said was very good. I had the crab cakes, which I found to be plump, tasty and the best I have had in a very long time. The dipping sauce was exceptional. The coleslaw was very creamy, which we also like. There was a slight problem with our order (they gave me the seafood combo instead of the crab cakes) but it was corrected very quickly. The server gave us a dessert on the house because of the snafu, which was very thoughtful. We will be returning to the Dock in the future! Thanks! read more

The service was reasonably prompt and pleasant. The atmosphere was good other than a few pesky flies that wouldn't stay away. The food was plentiful and although slightly higher than the chain restaurants it was good. That being said, I gave it three stars because there is so much more potential here. Get rid of the flies and give the food a little extra attention and you'll have a winner. The salads were wilty, the steaks lacked that little extra sizzle even though they were cooked to the proper temp. This place could be a great experience and not just another biker bar. read more
