What I love most is the incredible variety. There's an impressive collection of upscale shops and luxury retailers, along with plenty of familiar favorites, boutiques, beauty destinations, and everything in between. Whether I'm browsing the latest designer pieces, treating myself to something special, or simply enjoying a little retail therapy, there's always something that catches my eye. The dining scene is another major highlight. There are so many amazing restaurants and places to grab a bite, making it easy to turn a shopping trip into an entire afternoon or evening out. I love that you can come for a little shopping and end up staying for dinner, drinks, or dessert. The mall itself has that polished Scottsdale atmosphere that makes the experience feel elevated, and there's always a sense of energy and sophistication without it feeling overly formal. It has changed quite a bit since I was younger, but somehow it has maintained the charm that keeps me coming back. If there's one consistent downside, it's the parking. Depending on the day and time, navigating the parking areas can be frustrating, and finding a convenient spot can definitely require some patience. Still, after all these years, Scottsdale Fashion Square remains one of my favorite places to shop, dine, browse, and simply enjoy the Scottsdale experience. We got lucky and found a space right away. The escalator going up and down was out of service. The two elevators were operational so all was good. The plaza features many familiar named stores, a Harkins Theater, food court, sit down restaurants, high end designer stores and many boutiques. Stairs and escalators will take you to various floors. Clean restrooms are scattered throughout the plaza. Be ready to shop until you drop. You'll also find valet parking and WiFi in the plaza.

There's so much offered here and really convenient and centrally located. Many different retail stores and restaurants. From clothing to novelty, to toys, shoes, to department stores, it's all here. Plus lots of eateries of all kinds, esp. in the food court area. Several clearance/"outlet" type stores for brand names like Nike too. There are also the movies, a Rainforest Cafe, a Legoland mini-theme-park, plus the Arizona SeaLife Aquarium, so you can definitely spend the whole day here and have so much fun, and find all kinds of goodies that'll lighten your heart and your wallet. Mall staff we saw were working hard at keeping all parts of the mall clean, esp. around the common areas like the bathrooms and emptying out trash cans, etc. at the food court. Individual retail store staff were friendly and helpful too. Overall, a really comprehensive and comfortably curated collection of stores in a clean shopping center environment. Most importantly, you'll get your steps in as this mall is in a vast space and on one floor, so it's quite spread out and you'll do a lot of walking. The store was well organized, items were easy to find, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, what stood out most was the customer service I received. Alyssa and Melany are excellent examples of how much of a difference employees can make in shaping a customer's overall experience. I did experience an issue with my store credit card. I couldn't understand why it wasn't working, especially since I had just used it. During a previous visit to another Marshalls location, the manager was unable to offer any assistance beyond telling me to call the customer service number. I left feeling frustrated because I was missing out on earning points, which was one of the main reasons I came into the store that day. This is where Alyssa R. truly went above and beyond. She noticed that my card wasn't working, and when I explained what had happened at the other store, she immediately recognized the issue. She explained that this had happened before and confidently suggested adding the card to my digital wallet. Although I initially had trouble figuring out how to do it, Alyssa patiently walked me through the process, and it worked! Her knowledge, confidence, and willingness to help turned a frustrating situation into a very positive experience. I haven't typically shopped at Marshalls or its sister stores, but this experience has genuinely changed my perspective on the company and its commitment to customer service. Please let Alyssa R. and Melany S. know that their efforts do not go unnoticed. Their willingness to help customers and ensure a positive experience makes a real difference. I enjoy browsing the many Sun Devil items from State 48 shirts to books (on the 2nd floor) to gifts for others to fancy button-down shirts and polos for me. They honor discounts for alumni and employees, and they even have a dressing room on the first floor to try on any Sun Devil clothing. I visited the store yesterday as it was a calm summer day, and they had some 40% sales on the 2nd floor. Parking on the street or visitor parking in nearby parking structures. It's also a short walk from the Fulton Center, Mountain America Stadium, and Desert Financial Arena (and the rest of the north side of the ASU Tempe campus). They're all huge, just that some are even bigger than the average. This one in Mesa, AZ is one of the biggest, we were told by staff. We came while on a trip out to Phoenix area, and we were staying nearby. It was a warm, or rather sizzling hot September day. There's not really a fall in AZ is there? Winter would be fall to most in temps. Anyhow, coming into this store was perfect for getting out of the heat. We wandered immediately over to the huge aquarium. A very attractive feature that my kids just love to gravitate towards no matter how old they are. After looking at the fishes for awhile, we wandered up to the 2nd floor and looked at all the camping gears, not so much b/c we're the camping type, but b/c the products are fun to check out and we discovered some innovations in camping chairs, they have come a LONG way, so comfortable that some of them feel like couches now, or like a reclining chair, almost like a la-z-boy in your family room. After checking out the camping section, we looked at the "stuffed" animals, aka taxidermy wildlife. They are always menacing and "scary" to me. What can I say, I get squeamish around wild animals alive or dead, but of course better if they're already taken care of so I don't have to run for my life. In any case, we also checked out their archery dept which is so cool b/c you can shoot arrow and test out their bows here at their indoor range (smaller, but sufficient) before buying and get practice in with your own bow, iirc. Finally, we just walked around all over, including much of the 1st floor to check out their water sports and apparel depts, all filled with goodies and fun stuff galore. If only money is no object huh? lol. Customer service was friendly and let us browse and explore as we liked, but were there for any questions or directions.

We love visiting BPS's, it's like going into the wilderness without the prep and mosquito bites. We're only semi-outdoors people of the paved or at least graveled/dirt-road variety, and not too much rugged terrain please for my getting-old bones. Pros: - It's for pros, hence the name, lots of specialty brands. - I feel like I'm a pro when I come here, only need to trick me. - My kids get such a kick out of this place, it's got all the cool gadgets to make camping and other outdoors adventures high-tech and fun - So many taxidermy animals, my wife hates seeing them and get squeamish, but the kids and I find them fun to look at. I personally think they're cool. Too bad I can't bring one home. - Some things on sale are pretty reasonably priced. - Huge place to walk around in, get your exercise done indoors in perfectly temp-controlled environment. - Clean bathrooms and the whole place is kept up nicely. Cons: - Some items are definitely full-retail prices - mostly hiking shoes, water sandals, didn't see much if any discounts for those. - Other items seem even higher than retail at other stores - grills, camping equipment, some knives (although I don't know prices for those as much). All in all, a great place to visit, stick to sale stuff and you can find some decent to good deal for your next outdoors adventure. Service from staff is good if you need help, just ask, otherwise, it's more a hands-off, self-serve, wander-as-you-like type of place which I prefer anyway.
