Mesa Riverview is a very large outdoor shopping plaza. Due to its vastness, it helps to know which business you are driving to. I wish they had more maps or directories of where you can find the businesses. Free parking and Wi-Fi in many of the larger stores. read more

This shopping center as a lot of gems, but also a lot of vacancies. The directory is outdated, which I wish they would update as it led to a little confusion when attempting to find another location for a drink as the one we wanted to go to was closed. We even went to resort to Chili's and they were temporarily closed for the night. Mesa Riverview, managed by Kimco, is one of the worst designed shopping malls in the country. Literally everything about it is wrong. Parking, signage, layout, garbage bins, design, lack of patios, lack of pedestrian mall, driving through is terrible etc etc. Who puts the garbage bins in front? This is the mall where stores and businesses and restaurants come to die. Even the parking lot for Bass Pro is far away /terrible as there's a wide unused driveway in front. Look at the garbage bins in front of Rito's and Papago. They're constantly open. Ugly. They two buildings that used to house Revelry (bankrupt and closed obviously) are among the worst buildings in history and that's why they've stayed empty since and will remain empty blights on Mesa. The monstrosity covered pavilion on the corner of Dobson and Rio Salado is useless and designed by a preschooler. What a waste of money and space. I could go on and on. Too bad. Tempe Marketplace is worlds better. read more

I can't expect much from this side of town, there are a bunch of homeless people roaming around along with pan handlers and all chains businesses. I come here because of Bass Pro Shop. I try not to hang around for a long time specially if I don't have any business to do with any other places in this plaza mall. Can't say much when this area is more on the poverty side. All I know is that, it sucks coming here and that's all you see and I cannot see myself trying to enjoy anything else in this shopping mall. It's a pretty scary place for me. read more

I like some of the stores here, but hate the parking situation. It was designed terribly. I rarely go from one store to another when here, just because the parking lot layout. It makes something that should be simple a big pain to get around. They should have hired the architect from Tempe Marketplace located only two miles away. There is a reason that it is doing so well, and Mesa Riverview struggles to keep tenants. I blame it on the difficulty to get in, park and leave quickly. I just can't figure out how such a prime real estate location be such a terrible shopping destination. read more

It's not awful, but it's no Tempe Marketplace. I would go to Tempe Marketplace to hang out, but I wouldn't go to Mesa Riverview unless I needed something from a specific store. Also, there's nowhere decent to eat in the area. I find it more difficult to navigate around. They don't have accessible maps. The stores here are less exclusive/high-quality, but it's useful to have a Walmart around for that one thing you need that you can't find anywhere else. read more

Imagine if all our various shopping centers in the East Valley were relatives at a reunion. Tempe Marketplace would be the hip, young popular niece. Scottsdale Fashion Square would be the posh refined socialite aunt. Fiesta Mall would be the elderly distant relative normally living in an assisted living facility. And Riverview? The beer-bellied, country music loving cousin whose favorite song is "No Shirt No Shoes No Problems". There's a Cracker Barrel, Walmart, Bass Pro, and Boot Barn to name a few of the stores here. The layout is very widely spaced to allow for all the big chains to reside here. The store I probably go to the most out of all of them here is the Bass Pro since I can't find a similar quality store in my area. As for the others, I can find a comparable store closer to me so I usually only shop here if I'm in the area anyways and want to kill some time. read more

What more could you ask for than a strip mall that contains Marshall's, Burlington, Chick-Fil-A and an LA Fitness. The stores seem to be somewhat modern and the LA location here is 24 hours which is rare in the Valley. This is my go to location if I'm looking to run errands and get a quick workout in. If you're in the area and are an LA Fitness member I suggest grabbing a Bang from the Circle K, check out some deals at Burlington and Marshall's while consuming the Bang, get a workout in as soon as the caffeine hits at LA Fitness and finish up your trip by heading over to Chik-fil-A for that chicken Sando you just earned. The playground and splash pad are both awesome! Definitely one of the best splash pads I've visited. PROS: Lots of variety in play equipment for both little and big kids - some really cool stuff I've never seen before! Beautiful green grass Clean bathrooms Cold drinking fountains CONS: Splash pad has concrete for flooring which was a terrible idea, it gets slick sometimes and my tough 3 year old took a spill and got a good scrape on his arm. Over by the kids concrete slide, there is a short sidewalk that leads right into a busy traffic zone. If you have children who tend to wander or run off it is incredibly dangerous. They should really put in some kind of a gate or something to stop kids from getting there. We came here on a Wednesday afternoon and there weren't many people. I have heard however, that on the weekends it is a zoo! Overall we enjoyed our time and will be returning! read more

Mesa Riverview - Good time! - Shopping Centers Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

Mesa Riverview is a shopping area off the 202 Red Mountain. This complex, or rather cluster of complexes, has a labyrinth of driveways that make no sense. Places that exit, but you can't turn. Driveways that end in a high curb. Frustrating. Especially at night, because it isn't very well lit. The 3 stars are for mediocrity. The stores and restaurants here are the same things that are everywhere, clogging up the retail market, and the skylines: Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Party City, Sally Beauty, Mattress Firm. Bo-ring. The only saving grace that make this area worthwhile are Bass Pro, Chik-Fil-A, Famous Dave's, Yogi's, and a few new restaurant additions, like sushi. Also coming soon is an Ono Hawaiian. And the kids' fave, but not mine, The Cracker Barrel (see Yelp review). Lastly, and most frustrating, is the Sloan Park Cubs facility. Getting around is nearly impossible. Impossible and impassable. Blue-haired baseball fans weave their Sevilles and Prii (plural of Prius?) from lane to lane, trying to find out where to go. "Did we buy parking? I don't want the $6 parking lot, when I can have the $5 parking lot!" Herein creates maximum anxiety for me. If there were interesting, different stores here to make it worth one's while, I may be less hesitant to come here. Until then (and until baseball is over), I'll pass [on the impassable]. read more

I tend to be at Mesa Riverview a few times during the week, it's a shopping center with plenty to choose from. From sporting to movies, from eating to getting your hair cut, there is something here for everyone. My goto shops, Bed Bath & Beyond, T-Mobile, Sally's Beauty, Marshalls, Chick fil A (don't judge) Taco Bell (son's favorite place) IHop with the grandkids, Rubios, and more. Mesa Riverview has it all! I like that I don't have to go through an entire mall just to get the store I want, parking is always easy, I'm in an out before you know it! read more

Don't know what the Mesa Riverview security is doing, but they're definitely NOT paying attention to those who are not displaying a handicap plate or sticker, yet parking in handicap spaces. As a 100% disabled veteran, we do have handicap plates and are not happy with Mesa Riverview (especially Cracker Barrel). Cracker Barrel's employee couldn't be bothered to get the manager & stated she didn't know what the manager could do anyway, stating we should just call the police. Nice, huh? We won't be back to Cracker Barrel. If Mesa Riverview & Cracker Barrel do not honor handicap spaces, then why have them?? read more

This shopping center has a little bit of almost everything...functional shopping (clothes, food, home improvement), food, drinking, entertainment, etc. The only thing it doesn't have that I think it should is a gas station. The closest gas station or convenience store is out on Alma School and 8th. Not a HUGE inconvenience, but it could be misleading the first time you go. read more

I went into this establishment (24 hour fitness on Dobson, Mesa) with the intentions of signing a couple's membership. The employees seemed as if they were very confused as to what a gym membership even was or what it was that I meant. The first several minutes of our visit consisted of the guy at the front desk "uhh, hmmm and uhgg." I had an open timed appointment with Sean that had been set up through a referral (something the employees claim is important to them). However when I first asked for Sean, the guy at the desk seemed further confused as if he did not know what or who Sean was. He finally decided to go ask someone, after several more minutes of hmmm, uhhh and uhgg. He returned to tell us that he "thought Sean had gone to get food." We asked if it would be okay to work out while we waited on him to return, the guy then attempted to tell us they had a charge associated with that. I informed him that I was not signing a membership to gym that I had not had the chance to check out first; therefore I was not going to pay. He then had us fill out a form and asked for ID's. Further confusion ensued as he attempted to locate my name on my identification. He had a clever excuse "I see ID's from all over the place, all the place man." We worked out and returned to the front desk about 40 minutes later and the same guy at the front desk looked at us with a dumbfounded look on his face when we asked for Sean again. He responded that "Sean has gone home for the day." We reminded him that we were interested in signing up as the special they were running expired at midnight today. He looked at us for a few moments and started mumbling something and looking around like he had lost something. He walked around the front area a bit before returning to let us know "everyone's busy." We informed him that we did not have a lot of time to continue to wait and asked if we could get something that stated we had come in and there was no-one to help us so that we could return tomorrow and still get the deal. He let us know that it should not be long and that he did not have anything like the form I was asking for. About fifteen minutes later the 'recruiter' came over and greeted us. Before we even made it to his desk, he had us both feeling very uncomfortable due to his attitude. Once at the desk we informed him that we (my boyfriend and I) wished to be on the same membership account. His response was inappropriate and unprofessional; he kept chuckling and repeating "you want to be on the same account, both of you... on the same account?" After assuring him that "yes" we wanted the same account, he then collected our ID's and went about setting up the account. Once he had the information entered he turned the computer to display what he had accomplished. Again the intelligence of this crew shines on, he entered the wrong name on my membership card and when I pointed it out to him he used a familiar excuse; "I see a lot of ID's from all over the place, you will have to go to the front desk sometime and fix it." After that statement I was feeling uneasy, but continued with the transaction anyways. I was given a dollar amount due today and offered two options; pay the entire amount due, or pay it in installments. I opted to make payment in full and produced the cash to cover the bill. Apparently cash is amusing to these people, because the 'recruiter' laughed in my face and scoffed "I need a credit card." There is no way on earth I would entrust an idiot that cannot read a state government issued identification card with having access to my credit or debit card information. That was the last straw for us, we promptly got up from his desk and walked to the front desk area to ask for the managers contact information, as we walked away he chuckled again and said in a long drawn out voice "oh-kay." Before we could reach the front desk the 'recruiter' was already at the desk talking about us to the guy that had helped us when we first arrived, the tone of the conversation was less than appropriate. When we stopped at the desk to ask for the manager's business card we were informed that the manager was not there and that he locked all his business cards up in his office. So we asked them to write down his name and number on a piece of paper for us and he responded "you can get something to write it on if you have something." So I took out my phone and entered the phone number into my phone, but when I asked for the manager's name I was told "I do not know what his name is (shoulder shrugs and cocky attitude) I have only worked here since October." I would recommend that you run away from this place as fast as you can, that will give a better and more effective workout then you can ever get inside the club. read more
