This was my Pre-Mother's day stroll through the Desert Ridge Marketplace. The kids were having a blast over by the dancing water fountains. It was a bubble mania day with bubble machines, and a big soap dispenser showering the kids. Hope they didn't eat any soap! This open air Marketplace is a great shopping opportunity for the entire family. Plenty of parking, restaurants and things to see and do, WiFi in some of the larger businesses.

I visited on a Thursday for their summer block party. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. On the mainstae, there were various performers, even a salsa dance lesson! There were multiple vendors for kiddos and adults. Desert Ridge Marketplace is the home of retailers and restaurants. Great venue to window shop! Accessible parking and entrances.

I don't get to stop by here often because it is a drive for me. But I do find myself at Desert Ridge Marketplace on occasions. I live closer to Tempe Marketplace which is a sister property that has a similar design. Desert Ridge Marketplace combines an outer area that has "Big Box" retailers like Target and Kohl's and a number of restaurants with a central area called "The District". The District is an outdoor mall that has a number of smaller shops, eateries and an AMC Theatre. It is located in the northern part of the Valley off the 101 freeway. The High Street district and Mayo Clinic Hospital are nearby. Desert Ridge Marketplace does a nice job with decorations during the holiday season. When I was shopping here for Christmas, they had a large tree set up at the center of the District area. When the weather is cooler, it is a nice place to walk around and shop. Parking is free and they have plenty of spots. But during the holiday season, it can get a little busy and parking can be a pain. They have some food options here that I enjoy that you won't find at the Tempe location. Desert Ridge has hosted a couple of fun outdoor events in the district area that I have attended in the past.

I like swinging by here when I am in North Phoenix and going for a bite or just a stroll. High Street is located right off the north 101 near Desert Ridge Mall. There are a couple of restaurants that I frequent here like Hulu's, Blue Martini and The Boozy (now closed). Torch is a good place to grab a cigar. High Street will occasionally host events. I have been here a couple of times for their cars shows. Classic cars line the streets for people to view and enjoy. They put up lights and a Christmas tree during the holidays which makes the area beautiful to see from the freeway. Apartments aren't cheap here. But you are paying for the amenities and for being close proximity to all of the options that High Street has to offer.

Overall, I have noticed that Marshalls has gotten more expensive, but still a really good value here. I also love that there's an entire section for HomeGoods that has so many unique items. I also love that I can shop for myself, my husband, and my son all in the same store. They also have a wide selection of beauty products that are brand name for a fraction of the cost. You do have to dig a little bit in the beauty section, but you can find some really great products. Occasionally, there will be a long line at the checkout, particularly on the weekends, but the line goes really quick and there are a lot of associates available to assist. I also love that they have a measuring tool in the furniture section that are complementary. They're usually about 3 feet long and it helps to make sure that the furniture fits in your home appropriately. They also have a section for you to put furniture on hold if you cannot pick it up right away. I also love that products are constantly rotating, and there are always new finds every week. The only thing is if you are thinking about buying something, buy it right then because it could be gone and does not get restocked.
