Every latte I've gotten, even with mixing is grainy sweet coffee slop and the matcha isn't too great either (way better options in the area), but if you have a sweet tooth for pastries it's not too bad. The woman helping me asked whether I wanted a single or double. I wasn't sure and took a moment to look at the display and ask my friend. There was nobody else waiting behind us, but the employee immediately seemed impatient and kept pressing me: was I getting the macaron or not? Her tone felt unnecessarily rude and rushed, so finally I just said, "Never mind about the macaron," and ordered my iced tea and cheesecake. Then it was my friend's turn. She ordered macarons and an iced coffee and also asked for a glass of water. The employee told her they charge for water--and then said the water had to be paid for in cash. It's illegal to charge for water. My friend paid, but the whole interaction struck both of us as very strange. From beginning to end, this employee came across as impatient, unfriendly, and almost angry that we were there. We weren't demanding, the store wasn't busy, and we were paying customers buying several items. There was simply no reason for us to be treated that way. The unfortunate thing is that the food was actually good. I liked the cheesecake, my friend enjoyed her macarons, and my iced tea was fine. I would have happily returned based on the food alone. But customer service matters. I don't know whether this woman was an employee, manager, or owner, but if management is reading this, I hope they address the way customers are being treated. One employee's attitude can completely ruin what otherwise could have been a lovely experience.

We purchased a wide assortment of pastries that were served at a post-wedding brunch. Everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the pastries which accompanied fresh cut fruit and champagne. The owners were obviously from France as they were speaking their native language. Their teenage son assisted us and he exhibited patience in explaining the selections and provided outstanding service. It's been two weeks and still thinking of the delicious treats.
