Verón is a gem-of-a-find located in DTLA. If you're vegan and/or gluten-free, rejoice! There are plenty of macaroon cookies that come in a variety of flavors such as lavender, early grey, orange, raspberry, and so much more. Be on the look out for seasonal flavors too! This fall they had a scrumptious blood Orange and even a pumpkin spice flavor! They also have matcha, coffee and other drinks that I haven't tried yet but I'm eager to go back and give them a shot. I let the owner by accident, who was hard at work in the back, but seeing her looking like a classic baker from a movie made me aware that there is a lot of love and care that goes into her charming little bakery shop. Location was pristine clean, staff very friendly, and two places to sit of you have a party of two or three. If I leave the house--especially to go to a cute French bakery--you bet your sweet derrière that my outfit will be photographed. Otherwise, might as well stay home in sweats. The inviting interior, as well as a menu that boasts rosé (in addition to coffee variations), makes this a perfect date destination. I don't do coffee dates, but I would do Verón. These macarons, my god... Is "flawless" the right adjective? It just might be. I've been a fan of Verón for a looooong time. I used to order through Instagram and go to their downtown kitchen for pickup, years before they had a storefront. My wife is a huge macaron fan and it's one of the things she missed most of all when going vegan. There are other brands in the vegan macron game, but they are so-so. Once Verón came into this world, though... We finally had our go-to. I can't say enough good things, but you really have to try them yourself. They have all the standard macaron flavors you'd expect while also adding a few adaptations. Last time I stopped by, I had an everything bagel macaron. Looked and tasted like an everything bagel, it was wild. I've seen Yoda macarons and Cookie Monster among dozens of others I'd never have thought of. Traditional or fun flavors, they're good no matter what. They've got coffee and tea too, in case you want to dig in right then and there. The staff are stellar. They used to take amazing care of me and my last-minute orders via Instagram at the kitchen and now, in the shop, it's nothing but smiles and great service. The inside is cute, definitely giving off tiny French sweet treat vibes. The location itself is... interesting. It's downtown, and if you aren't familiar, that can mean an assortment of colorful experiences. I'll just leave it at that. Parking is a crap shoot, sometimes I find a spot on the block and sometimes I'm half a mile away. Worth it, though! The BEST vegan macarons, it's hard to imagine something better. I'm not really a sweets person, but when I'm here to snag some for my wife, I still get a stash for myself because they are too good to pass up. Can't send enough praise their way. I actually cancelled the first time because I assumed they would taste like every other macaron I've tried. Boy was I wrong! These are light and the flavors aren't too overpowering. Excited to have the new vegan gluten free macaron in LA area. Their macarons are "free of animal products, gluten, palm oil, corn syrup, artificial colors & flavors and soy". Due to my allergies - I'm restricted to eating sweets that are free of dairy and gluten. Even though they're vegan, the taste and texture don't get compromised. I highly recommend this place even though you're not vegan. It's crispy on the outside and soft and chewy. It is also not too sweet. When you just buy it, I think it's best to wait a bit for few min in a room temp before you eat it as they perhaps store it chilled. They have quite wide variety range of flavors. From what I've gotten so far, I love the early grey tea and rose! These 2 are definitely not weak in their game of flavor. Their brick & mortar store is in downtown LA - which can be challenging for parking. However, they were so nice to help me with curbside pick up. Just to be aware - that area have a few one-way streets. And just to be sure to let them know which side you'd be and they'll hand your order through the window without you having to park or get out of the car. Found this place thanks to Too Good To Go (iykyk) I'm just a such a sucker for a pretty treat. But, these macarons take the cake and then some. They're just so.. good. I can't remember my favorite flavor, because they were all so delicious and didn't last long in our home (due to being eaten so quickly). But, if I had to recollect, it was probably a citrusy number, a passion fruit if they have it? So bright and airy and just made my 30-something year old heart sing, thank you, Verón. I love these macarons! The flavors I've had the pleasure of trying so far (the Everything pack flavors and some seasonal flavors) were delicious. The texture is great and they are so pretty. I love pairing these with a cup of tea (earl grey macaron with earl grey tea is such a good combo) or as a treat on their own. I'd suggest letting them come to room temp before enjoying if you've had them in the fridge. I'll definitely be purchasing from Veron again, and am looking forward to trying new flavors in the future. read more

I ordered the dozen variety pack online and had them shipped to me in NorCal. The macarons were just ok and didn't seem very fresh. Maybe they're better when you order them fresh at the store. They did let me know that there was a shipping error and the macrons were shipped later than they were supposed to after sitting around for several days, so I suspect that had something to do with the average quality. read more

I ordered a sampler box of 12 online and they were good, not great. The macarons have too subtle of a flavor. Using natural ingredients should make the flavors shine. Less than half of the flavors were recognizable on my palate as I am very familiar with all the flavors offered. The texture of the shell was perfect, nice variety of flavors, well presented, creamy filling, so many positive qualities to mention. However, if the flavor isn't there, it's a pass. I placed an order on 10/19 for it to be shipped to central CA on 10/24. It was a gift. On 10/24 the label was created, but UPS showed no activity until 10/26 (supposedly the 2 day shipping due date). I called and emailed the shop asking for more information when I realised that it didn't appear to be shipped and received no communication in return. The package was delivered on 10/28, after the intended recipient had already left. Even if it was shipped on Wednesday 10/25, that still would be a 3-day shipping and it's still late. The macarons themselves were a disappointment, as well. It's a lot of beautiful colours and textures, but they are extremely sweet and the flavours are indiscernible. Nothing like the French macarons. Do not recommend. read more

I initially set my order for pick up instead of delivery, but was running behind with last minute things @ work today. I would come here every day if I could!!! BEST vegan (and GF!) macarons in the USA. Chocolate is my absolute favorite...if I don't watch myself I could eat an entire package in one day! Second favorite is the everything bagel macaron. Sweet & salty and perfect snack on the go. This place also serves espresso, coffee and other beverages. There is WIFI if you want to drink some coffee and check the morning news. The owner Shera is always so welcoming and super creative when it comes to the holiday macaron flavors and the macaron tree. Received two boxes as a gift. These are by far the worst macaroons that I have ever tasted in my entire life. They tasted stale, overly sweet and no taste whatsoever of any of their flavors. The lemon tasted like I was eating a tablespoon of sugar. This was true with all of the other flavors. Truly disappointing!! If I had purchased these, I would ask for a total refund, including the shipping. read more
