I could not be more impressed. I had an incredibly smooth experience with the Universal Dental…read moreteam. From front desk to dental assistant to dentist. They were friendly, informative, and very professional. Schedule your next dental appointment with Dr. Nader. Dr. Nader answered all my questions and concerns. He created a thorough treatment plan for my dental needs; listing services from higher importance to least. Dr. Nader explained each service and why It was imperative I follow through with the treatment. Dr. Nader extracted a wisdom tooth for me. Afraid of the inevitable pain, I braced myself(a little too much). When he completed the extraction, he began to explain the after care steps. I was confused because I didn't feel ANYTHING. I had to ask him several times, if he was done. I could not believe how painless and quick that was. He is an extraction genie!!!!!! I will definitely be returning for the rest of my treatment.

Beware of Deep Cleaning Scams: Dr. MO Multiple emails to…read moreclinic ahead of time just to schedule a routine cleaning, since my prior dentist retired. Never had a cavity in my life and have been getting 2 cleaning and regular x-ray on routine basis for health maintenance. Checked in ok, and was proceeded to the back by hygienist. Just about to clean, Dr. Mo (Mohammed Alyagoob: NPI: 1952979189) walked in, took one look at my x-ray (5 months ago), and said that I needed "Deep Cleaning". When inquired as to why, especially given my history, he was extremely dismissive and said "Do you want your teeth to fall off?". He then proceeded to tell me that I have an infected tooth and puss is coming out, despite that I have no pain, fever, systemic symptoms of whatsoever. Dr. Mo then stated that : "You can go somewhere if you like" repeatedly, when I asked more questions. I told him that doing deep cleaning cost thousands of $ and often requires prior approval, and that I am requesting him to just do regular cleaning and reassess in 6 months and if necessary, we can see if deep cleaning receives prior authorization. He refused to do regular cleaning and told me to leave. SCAM PART: It is often done by shoddy dental practices, NOT to do regular cleaning and push people to do "Deep cleaning". It cost $$$$ in thousands, instead of $100 or so. It also requires strong anesthesia, often extreme pain and requires very strong pain medication to control symptoms, not to mention multiple visit and chances to bill your insurance on multiple occasions. Often they justify the necessity as any bone loss. However, please note that anyone over the age of 50 will have some bone loss, no different in your teeth than rest of your body. They may scam you to think that bone loss is only related to deep infection and inflammations that requires deep cleaning. WHAT CAN YOU DO: Call their clinic managers and report. Call your insurance company to report to Ethicspoint or similar line. Examine your provider from IL Department of Professional Regulation to see if they have been disciplined previously. If you encounter potential scams, report to IL Dept of Professional Regulations. Get another opinion. Trust your body sense of what it is telling you.

Find somewhere else to go. They have cleared out all the old staff. Only the hygienist is left. All…read moreour dental records from the last several years are missing and no one knows how to locate them. The new dentist doesn't know what he's doing. He's very heavy handed and rushes through the work. He's more concerned with how much he can get you to pay. He had my husband pay for a crown he didn't need. $400+ out of pocket. I'm still working to see if I can get my dental records.

REVISED REVIEW OF FIRST POINT DENTAL…read more The first dentist told me I had two cavities to fill. I went in to get them filled and found out the first dentist was not in - it was the owner. He told me I needed a crown and a possible root canal. I told him I wanted a second opinion. I got the second opinion. The new dentist told me I did not need a root canal it was just a large filling that I needed. The new dentist told me I had a small cavity on Tooth #30 that neither dentist from First Pont Dental caught. The new dentist told me I needed to get my teeth cleaned. I told him I just got them cleaned at First Point Dental five weeks prior. The first dentist from First Point Dental used a silver thing with water in it and knicked me twice which really hurt. I ran my tongue over my teeth after the new dentist told me that and sure enough I could feel all the plaque. The first dentist did not even use a silver pick. Patients beware of First Point Dental. I truly believe they do not know what they are doing. I don't know how two different dentists from the same office can look at the same x-ray and come up with such different opinions. Especially the first one. Two cavities (no mention of a crown) and not cleaning my teeth properly. And, of course, both of them missing the cavity on Tooth number 30. In retrospect, the new dentist just fixed the two teeth that needed repair work. He told me they needed the repair work for quite awhile. If First Point Dental would have told me this a year or two ago, I could have avoided the extra repair work which not only cost me extra money but also my insurance company. It would have been just a couple of cavities like the first dentist said and nothing more. Also, First Point Dental goes under three different names. First Point Dental, The Dental Specialists, P.C. and Dentistry for Everyone. What is going on - sounds fishy to me.
