The office manager, Wendy, at the dental center is very rude and arrogant. I received a call from her today that was aggressive, and she instructed me to respond when they called. Her arrogance was unwarranted, especially since this was regarding a cleaning appointment for Saturday, and today is only Thursday. This behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. Additionally, I am currently dealing with a death in my family, and this was the disrespectful call I received. When I called back to speak with someone higher up, Wendy claimed there was no one above her, stating that she communicates this way with everyone. If this continues, you will lose many patients with someone like her managing your office. 457$ for a filling. Never had so much pain in my life after the filling. The doctor had a heavy hand, so he was pushing my cheek. I couldn't tell while on anesthesia, but after it wore off it was really painful. The nerve also got very inflamed. Everything felt rushed. The dental center in Bloomfield does the best work around. This office is AMAZING, I went to two other dentists before finally trusting The Dental Center in Bloomfield, NJ ... Please read my entire Review, my story of my dental work and how wonderful my experience was below. Upon first arrival at "The Dental Center" in Bloomfield, NJ I was immediately greeted by a kind and knowledgeable receptionist who gave her undivided attention and was most helpful. I explained what I was there for and was introduced into the dental room where an assistant, also extremely personable and knowledgeable told me about what I was there to get done (Cleaning/X-Rays and Exam). When Dr. Carmine Corigliano, my Dentist, came into the room... the laughing began... and it wasn't because of any laughing gas. After my gentle cleaning, thorough X-Rays, and Exam, Dr. C explained I would need a root canal on one of my teeth. I was rather nervous about this because I had never had a major procedure like it before, but he took the ample time to explain everything and reassured me that he would take care of everything. The office has all of the equipment to create the post and full permanent crown there while you wait so there is no long multi-week period where you must wait for a crown to be made in a lab etc... they do everything there at the Dental Center so you can get a Root Canal, Post/Crown done in two visits! I was thrilled about that notion! To make a long story short, the availability was extremely great at the Dental Center, they have many appointments and work with your schedule so you can get the work done on your teeth when you want and as quickly as you want it done. So I got my Root Canal done, and when I say I was nervous, I was extremely nervous going in. But Dr. C had someone stay with me the entire procedure and they took the time and effort to keep me calm and happy. The root canal was Painless. Even the anesthetic, the numbing needle, was very gentle. In between getting my crown, I got two fillings done as well, they were deep and difficult fillings but they were expertly done and they look and feel great. Dr. C made sure that I was happy with everything and made sure they not only felt good but looked good as well. Dr. C made sure when I returned today for my Crown, that my fillings didn't bother me. He made sure to check with me on everything and his thoroughness is extremely important to me! So, to sum up, I am very happy with the Dental Center and I'll be going back soon for a couple more fillings, The entire staff is friendly and helpful, from the Billing Manager to each Assistant and hygienist, to the Dentists/ Doctors themselves, they're all kind, caring, and helpful. I first went to the dental center for an emergency appt due to a painful wisdom tooth. Going to the dentist makes my anxiety run sky high! Dr. C was welcoming as soon as he walked in. Bait and Switch, in essence. Made an appt. on Monday for Wednesday. They called Tuesday to confirm and verify our insurance for our two appts. Went Wednesday, assuming all was right. Let us sit there and fill out all paperwork. Took photocopies of ID and ran insurance. My wife goes back with the hygienist only to be told we're both out of network and two cleanings will cost over SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS. What a miserable, greedy business practice. We both happily walked out. We'll spend a lot less in network, rather than having the privilege of a cleaning at your office. The staff was universally pleasant. Haven't been here in years but my experiences prompt me to write a review. Needed some dental work done, went here on a family reference but it turned out to be so shady I had to take my business else where... They wanted to do ALOT of work which struck me as odd cause I take care of my teeth. They ended up removing a wisdom tooth that was ready to go.... But left a huge piece of it still in my jaw!!!!! No joke, was In constant discomfort for weeks :,( long story short... I want to start off by saying this. I'm very very afraid of dental work. Always have been and probably always will be. That being said, my mouth is in pretty bad shape. I called yesterday to make an appointment for today and was greeted on the phone by Doreen. She was as sweet as possible and answered all my questions. She was also at the desk when I walked in this morning and knew who I was right away. After filling out some paperwork, I was escorted into the practice by Gloria. She gave me a tour, showed me their equipment and was extremely patient with me knowing how nervous I am about dental work. She even coached me through my complete set of X-Rays and told me step by step what she was doing and when. I then met Dr. Moscowitz who was also very patient, kind and friendly. He even worked on a payment plan with me and set me up with a free consultation for my next visit. Let me start with the dental hygienist I saw was very nice and good at her job. She was the only good thing about the place. The dentist I saw was very money hungry and pushy for me to buy $600 products. He also told me I had 3 cavities and that I needed multiple fill ins. I got a second opinion to find out I had no cavities at all. Makes me wonder if he lied so that he could get insurance money. What was he gonna do to me during my fill in appointment if I didn't have any cavities? If I were you just be careful, pay attention and listen to your gut. Also know that you can go to another dentist for a second opinion and that you are not obligated to go back to their office. I hope that not all of the dentists are shady there. I was feeling bad about telling them I didn't like the office but now I see on Yelp that a lot of people have been duped as well. So be careful and maybe just consider going to a family dentist that actually cares about your dental health more than they care about money. read more

I went in today for an emergency consultation and possible treatment. The front desk was very helpful and extremely friendly. Dominique greeted me with a smile and a very warm welcoming. Everyone there made it seem like a good place to be (since the dentist is so dreaded by most). Dr. Marc Moscowitz then came in and again, was very friendly and explained everything to me very thoroughly. He made sure I knew his plan going forward. First off this review is long overdue. I have been going to the dental center for about 5 years now, it's probably longer than that however my experience has also been amazing. Honestly 5 Stars doesn't cut it can I have 1000 stars? Dr C. is amazing as well as all of the staff at the front desk. I have never had a bad experience coming to the office. What I truly appreciate is that Dr C is very open and honest about everything. He will tell you what needs to be done,what the cost is and what he is going to do. Overpriced!!!! Do your research- A crown replacement, $1300!!!! Are you kidding me ??? My Upper West Side New York dentist-Steps from Central Park West quoted me $900-The Dental Center, Bloomfield Cleaning charge was $107-Also overpriced-Post cleaning "consultation"was $102.... For 10 minutes???? Three words: save your money.... and go elsewhere. One positive note: The office staff was exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful. Note: I sought the advise/insight from a friend's dentist/husband.... showed him the estimate (from The Dental Center) for 3 crowns (1300 per crown)... he was shocked.... In Bloomfield ???? It's not New York. He thought the estimate was way out of line. In additon, based on another review on The Dental Center: It seems they are in the business of doing dental work that REALLY is NOT necessary.... Was told by them I need 3 crown replacements... I have been coming here for the past couple of years now after being referred by my husband who has been a patient for years. The office is large and spotless. Everyone from the front desk receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist is highly professional, yet laid back so you feel comfortable. The equipment looks clean and modern. Every chair has its own TV so you can watch your favorite channel if you'd like. I also appreciate the email reminders of my upcoming appointments. Yes, they sometimes suggest some additional work than what you're there for, but I feel like every dentist I've seen does the same. My son has been receiving orthodontist care at The Dental Center for the last 3 years for his braces. The care that Dr. Cathy has given him was terrific. Although, in October 2015, Branden received a bill in the mail for another procedure that never authorized. I called the office to get an explanation for the outrageous bill and the billing person explained to me that it was for a special cleaning since he had braces. I then demanded to speak to the office manager and she refused to remove the amount because she said that the hygienist said that she told me the cost of the service, which I told her that it was not true. My son did have his teeth cleaned from the hygienist and I specifically told her not to do anything extra than what the insurance would cover because I was on SSDI and that I cannot afford more than we were already paying and she said that she understood. I explained to them that I was on SSDI many times at that office as well as letting them know that we can afford anything more than what we are already paying for on his braces. My spouse had Dental insurance for us through his job which only covered the basic 6 month cleaning. In addition to the bill, they are charging us interest for a procedure that I never agreed to nor were there any signed agreements in place. Another incident happened when I had some procedures here my self. I had an exam there and I was told that I needed some work done on my mouth and again I told them that I cannot afford much because I was on SSDI and because my family was struggling enough to pay for the braces that his practice is providing for my son. The dentist Mark told me not to worry about that because my insurance will cover the procedure. I said okay and he did the procedures needed to my mouth. Then a couple of months later, I received a bill saying that I owe $1500. I am NOT paying for services that I did not agree to pay for other than what the insurance was covering. I feel as tough these people take advantage of their clients and have no remorse for doing so. My sons braces are all paid for, which costs over $6000. Their so called scamming prices are outrageous. I totally don't understand the negative reviews regarding prices. Dr C and his very friendly staff welcomed me into their office. I had not been to the dentist in 5 years due to lack of insurance. They took X-rays and Dr. C sat down and went over line by line would each piece of work I needed would cost. He told me about his payment plan option. We went over what would be covered under insurance and what my out of pocket would be. Dr. C even showed me a video of what exactly he'd be doing on each tooth. Are his filling prices a little higher? Sure, but he isn't using metallic fillings. He only uses the clear ones with the best material. Due to his patience and that fact that he came strongly recommended, I did not think to question his invoice. What is comes to my smile, I do not mind paying for quality care. Let me start by saying that at first very happy with the 5K+ worth of work they did (xrays/extractions/fillings). It was a little pricey, but the work went smooth enough. My problem is that in about 4yrs most of their work has failed. The teeth they fixed/filled are in need of repair AGAIN. I understand that dental work has no guarantee, but for that kind of money and with today's advances how could I still have some childhood fillings at almost 50yrs old that outlasted theirs! My conclusion is poor work. In addition, on a visit back after voicing my concerns, I think Dr. M held a bit of a grudge because my face was more swollen after that visit than ANY other. One word to describe this place. Overpriced. You end up spending a lot of pocket for God knows what reason. A simple filling was just under 300 bucks. I don't ever take the time out and put a review but I had to let everyone know that these people are crooks.They told me that they give free consultations, when I get in the girl didn't even introduce herself and just asked why are you hear I explained that I already started a root canal but my insurance is ending in three weeks and the place which I love(smile dental group in Clifton, Nj) can not order my crown on time before my insurance ends and they don't want me to be stuck with a bill if it does not come on time. I went to this place because my friend said the do the crowns wishing 2 hours. I sat down the girl say ok what tooth is said a molar( didn't look at it) and said with my insurance I would pay $740.00 and the dentist I go to in Clifton they were going to charge me $320.00. Than she tells me(remember she never introduced herself). Now the doctor is going to see you and we have to do an X-ray, the doctor has to see you and check your tooth we are going to charge you. I said I thought it was a free consultation she said no it's just for me to tell you the price I was like you could have told me that over the phone. Seriously!!!!!??? I was like don't worry it's too much anyway the prices here she said ok. I said ok I'm leaving now how can I leave she didn't walk me out and told me just follow the other people leaving!!!!
