The first time I came here in July I with my daughter who received a cleaning and x-rays. My daughter saw Dr. Parnika Bhatag and had a good experience she was very through and recommended she see an oral surgeon. I decided to also come here and get a cleaning and a full set of of x-rays. I checked in and filled out paperwork with Marilyn, who was very nice. She researched my insurance and let me know ahead of time the cost. Chis was my hygienist and she spent a good amount of time taking panoramic x-rays and really cleaning my teeth. Chris was very upbeat, cheery and pleasant. She was very conscious to check with me to make sure I wasn't experiencing any pain. Once she was done Dr. Parnika Bhatag came in examined my teeth and gave me a plan to get back on track. Dr. Bhatag was very professional, along with her entire staff. The office itself was very neat clean and comfortable. Soft Care Dental is located in downtown Warren in the strip mall near Alfie's Restaurant. There is plenty of free parking. Soft Care Dental also has evening hours during the week. Wife and I are new area and in need of an annual check-up. Unfortunately for us we have baggage with dentists ...for me I haven't seen a dentist in about 10 years and my wife has only had bad....third world country... dental experience. So, it was incredible important for us to find a good dentist (in-network) and in our area. We found Soft Care Dental by happenstance via Google. The Google reviews were positive, but the Yelp were unfortunately not. We made a gamble and having just went in for our first procedure - we are unbelievable happy with the service and the care Dr. Bhatag gave and her dental assistances. The intro appointment (meet & greet, x-rays, and a cleaning) went without a problem. The day before my appointment - Marilyn called to give me a break-down of the work to be done. She was both through and patient with me and answered all my questions. Prices were also extremely reasonable. Today's appointment was 3 fillings. Given I haven't been to a dentist in over a decade and the last time having laughing-gas with sleeping aids (because I am that terrified of the dentist); Dr. Bhatag and team was gentle, patient, and worked quickly. I have never been awake during the needle pricking or the drilling, so my anxiety was high. Happily I didn't feel a thing and it was actually painless. We were done in about 35-40mins. Horrible. My husband had an appointment that he had to wait for, for almost 2 months. They call 30 minutes before my husband's appointment to say there was something with the insurance. Gave some BS explanation that they changed locations and that my husband may have to pay out of pocket. I ended the call with Paula after going back and forth about this for 10 minutes saying I would call my insurance and figure this out. I can my insurance and they confirmed that this office at the correct address was in network. I call Paula back and she refused to accept this, said something about me "yelling at her" and that they would see my husband but he would have to pay out of pocket, despite me CONFIRMING that they were in network. She was rude and combative without a legit explanation then hung up on me. I'll admit, I was livid on the phone, but for an appointment we had for 2 months, I am DISGUSTED. I had a tooth ache the last week as I decided to open a bottle of blue moon. I think it was chipped. After I got sober I decided to call the dentists as the pain was still there. I came to the office where there was not much waiting and the doctor dureja was able to fix my tooth and also helped alleviate my tooth pain. I am happy now that my tooth is fixed and I am pain free. I began going to to this dental office in February. The dentist was very nice as was the hygienist who did a great job. The problem I had was with the front office staff and the lack of knowledge on how to work with the dental insurance company, a major health insurer in NJ. I was told at my first visit they would contact the insurance company to find out how much they would cover for additional work the Dr. wanted to do. The insurance company sent me a copy of their response to the office, the first response was all blank with codes indicating the information they received was not submitted properly and certain items such as copies of Xrays were not included as required. The same thing happened a few more times with a few minor procedures finally getting resolved, although when contacted by the dental office the amount quoted as to what I would have to pay was actually what the insurance company's covered portion, I just took this as the staff person looking at the wrong line. This week I received a call telling me my insurance company would not cover any of the additional work they wanted to perform and I would be responsible for the entire amount, I was then asked when would I like to come in. This didn't sound right as they have covered a good portion of this kind of work in the past. I had a copy of the insurance company's reply to their office and nowhere did it say they would not cover any part of the procedures, the same codes saying the dental office had once again submitted the information improperly was on the paperwork. I told the staff member this was not the case and to please look at the statement and read the codes, she did and then proceeded to call the insurance company directly. I received a call back a short time later telling me they had to send additional information to the insurance company and that it would be sent out via regular mail as they seemed to have a disconnect using email. This came as no surprise as it has been going on like this for months. Had I not said anything I would have been charged for the entire bill, thousands of dollars. Maybe it's me but this is why I have dental insurance, it may not cover everything but it certainly does help. After thinking about this I called back and asked for my records, I briefly explained what the issue was to a different individual when asked if I was leaving to go to another dentist. I didn't receive an "I'm sorry to hear this" or any form of apology just "where do you want this mailed". After wrongly submitting forms numerous times, after over five months of not being able to get information on insurance coverage you would think someone would realize there is an issue here. If you don't want to deal with insurance providers then do away with it, tell the patients your policy is that you don't accept dental insurance. If you are willing to accept dental insurance please learn how to properly remit the required documentation, seriously five months have passed and still no idea as to how much is covered by insurance after numerous submissions on your part? The dentist was excellent as was the hygienist but be wary if you have insurance and be sure to double check the figures and paperwork before proceeding on any suggested dental work. read more

There are no words to describe the unethical behavior of Dr. Ritu Dureja. I cannot speak regarding Dr. Bhagat. I went there as a very nervous and apprehensive patient. They assured me and made me feel comfortable. Then the day of my appointment (after I made weeks of arrangements to get a ride to the dentist and have coverage for my five children), they had not sent my prescription to the pharmacy for medication I was prescribed to take one hour prior to the procedure. My prescription was not ready until 8 minutes before I was supposed to be back home and taking it. And, it was not the same prescription that was discussed at the consultation. I was already incredibly nervous and waited years to get the nerve to make the appointment too begin with. Completely unethical amongst other things. I confirmed my appointed online and have a confirmation screenshot of the appointments that were loaded into my Google Calendar from their office. They did not follow through with one thing that was discussed during my consulation. To say I am angry and upset is a gross understatement. read more

I have nothing but nice things to say about this office. My entire experience was smooth and went just as Dr Dureja had told me. I am so pleased with the results and that I went with the dental implants. My whole family is glad to have found an awesome dental team to handle all our dental care. After years of looking for a go to dentist, I finally found the gemstone dentistry right in my home town. Dr. Bhagat and Natalie are experts in what they do. Super friendly service, I had a lot of work to be done with my teeth and they both made sure I didn't leave until my bite felt comfortable. I didn't feel like I was being rushed on like many other dentists I've been too. Phenomenal service, I would recommend visiting if you haven't done so already. I promise you won't regret it. read more
