THE BEST! THE BEST! THE BEST! I have an intense fear and anxiety from traumatic dental experiences in the past and Harmony Dental Arts has helped me so much. They are so patient, kind, and gentle. I've done so much work with them including a complicated dental implant repair and I experienced NO PAIN WHATSOEVER! This is the first dentist office that I don't dread going to them. I've already recommended to family and friends and I can't say enough good things about them. The dentists, the hygienists, and the office staff are AMAZING! Oh and also, they are actually good with the schedule. You don't have to sit there for an hour after your scheduled appointment before you get called in which has been my experience at other dentists. Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from. Me and my husband came here for the annual cleaning. The cleaning for me was merely okay. Not through enough. I usually leave cleaning with squeaky clean teeth after but not with this place. After we were finished. The receptionist took us to a room to talk about prices. I would need 2 or 3 fillings that isn't cover by insurance and that's when I learned my husband never got his cleaning that day and had to come back for a deep cleaning that will cost around 200 dollars with insurance. And that he would need fillings that would cost more on top I'm no teeth expert but I've never heard of not being able to do a basic cleaning. Even if he needed deep cleaning, they should have done basic cleaning that day first and ask him to come back for deep cleaning. So I asked her how come. She briefly said because he will need numbing medication to do deep cleaning. It just didn't make sense to me. So I asked her one more time and she looked at me like I was stupid and gave me the exact same answer. We should have never returned to this place after this but my husband at the time agreed that he felt like he needed a deep cleaning. I asked a couple of dentist friends and they also told me even if he needed deep cleaning, they still could've done basic cleaning that day first. Anyways. My husband went back for the deep cleaning himself and had to schedule a separate appointment for the fillings which is very annoying and inconvenient that you can't do everything in just one visit. He told them that he will call them back for the filling appointment and left. I called the office and help him schedule something and they couldn't get him in until weeks later but told me they have an auto texting thing that if they have earlier appointment, they will text you and if the earlier appointment time works for you, you can call the office to grab the earlier appointment so I told her yes. When it was close to the original appointment, and he couldn't make the appointment, I called the office a few days earlier to reschedule. And that was when the receptionist got very angry at me saying that his appointment was suppose to be this morning and that he missed it and that he would be charge a penalty. I told her he never made that appointment and she said "he got a text, didn't he?!" I asked my husband after and he told me he did receive the text but just ignored it since he never made the appointment and never confirm by replying yes to the text or call them. Just how can an office self schedule someone by texting without speaking to the person first and get angry at the patients. I went in for a routine cleaning. Walked out being told I have 2 cavities i was unaware of. Shouldn't have gone back for numerous reasons: 1) the office is a converted apartment. super small with zero privacy between patients and dirty. 2) i was constantly being pushed to buy-in to a teeth straightening plan ("for a limited time only for the first 5 patients"). But my teeth don't need it. 3) i didn't feel like the cleaning was very thorough. And usually when you leave from a cleaning they talk to you about your maintenance plan, give you coupons and a little care bag with travel size toiletries. Nope. None of that. They didn't even try to schedule me for my next 6 month cleaning. smh. I should've known better. So I went back the next week for the fillings. First, the dentist said that the teeth her assistant had marked down weren't the correct teeth that had the cavities. Wait, what? Then, although i was scheduled to have both teeth done, the dentist tried to convince me to only do 1 that day and go back for the other. Boy do I wish I did that. Because I later found out she was late for a meeting and ran out of the office before I was even out of the chair. With that said, I went in with zero pain. Here it is, over a MONTH later and I'm having terrible pain every. single. day. I wake up and take advil. Take more in the middle of the day. And more still before I go to sleep. It's absolutely terrible. I had gone back the week after to find out why I am in such pain and she had the nerve to be annoyed with me! She was immediately on the defense. Started repeating, "well i told you, you have TMJ." Telling me that the pain will probably go away in a couple of weeks by itself but I really need TMJ treatment... which is $2,000 and NOT covered by insurance at all! I don't believe i ever even had cavities at this point. And if I did, she drilled too close to the nerve or something! STAY AWAY!!!!! I'm even more scared because when she was drilling, she all of a sudden stopped and went "OMG! OMG!" Went to go get a mirror and told me to look but then showed me nothing. Said, "your tooth looked like it was wiggling!" EXCUSE ME?! So now i'm scared that she did something to another tooth either because she 1) doesn't know what she's doing. 2) screwing up whatever she's doing. 3) creating the problems herself so she can get more money!!!! I went to Dr. Maria Sokolina after reading all good reviews about her and thought that since she was successful in treating numerous people with the same sleep apnea problem that I was presently experiencing, that hopefully she could help my sleep apnea as well. I have had several visits with Dr. Sokolina and with her expertise in guiding me to use a dental piece to sleep at night, I am happy to report that my sleep apnea problem has diminished substantially. Dr. Sokolina takes pride in helping her patients and continually monitors my sleep apnea progress. After ordering a follow up sleep study test, it was confirmed that my progress with Dr. Sokolina's sleep apnea care has proven to be very successful for me. I even lost 15 pounds as a result. I've been a patient at Harmony Dental (Clifton, NJ) since the early 2000's. My 1st visit was for a standard, routine checkup. That was when I met Dr. Maria Sokolina. She impressed me as being very professional, knowledgeable, and personable. She took an interest in me and wanted to really give me a 'nice smile', so she came up with a plan to correct some issues I had (underbite, gaps). Unfortunately, due to financial obligations, I was unable to agree to her proposal, but I continued to be her patient. A few years later she again approached me with a more cost-effective plan to which I agreed, and we began the 2-year journey of finally correcting my smile. I had to wear braces for 2 years but it was well worth it. During those 2 years I'd meet with Dr. Breyn Peters every few weeks to adjust my braces, and she was a real sweetheart. Very pleasant and professional, and she was always happy to explain exactly what she was doing and why she was doing it. After 2 years, the braces came off. No more gaps, and no more underbite! Dr. Sokolina was even able to replace a lateral incisor that I'd lost when I was a kid. (It fell out and never grew back, which may have led to my underbite.) The braces created a space for installing the new tooth, and Dr. Sokolina did a really great job replacing that long-missing tooth. The braces came off more than a year ago, yet I still find myself smiling into the mirror and thinking: ".........Wow.......what a difference........" I don't know why I chose Harmony Dental all those years ago, but I'm very glad I did. I have no regrets whatsoever. The staff is very personable and professional, and the office is always very neat & clean. Appointment reminders are sent regularly, and I don't ever recall having to wait when I arrived for my appointment. Several weeks ago I had to stop-in due to a loose retaining wire. I had no appointment. I simply called them and they told me to come right over. Dr. Naba Hadi re-attached the wire, and she did a GREAT job! And a few days ago I had my scheduled cleaning with Dr. Alyona Sverdlova. Again, very personable & professional. So if you're looking for expert dental care I highly recommend Harmony Dental Arts. The dentists there are okay however the receptionist is the rudest human possible. I walked it 13 minutes late which I am not denying but she made a big ordeal arguing back and forth with me. I tried to explain my circumstances and she did not want to hear it. I spent several minutes trying to convince her to please speak to the dentist on my behalf to explain my situation and she was very hesitant.
