I'll start from the beginning... Jack was right on time for our initial quote appointment (seems rare these days, having dealt with quite a few contractors lately). Jack intently LISTENED (also a rarity with contractors today) to everything we wanted, patiently answered all our questions, gave us valuable tips and suggestions, and was extremely honest about everything. And he didn't try to up-sell us on anything, which I very much appreciate. He made it clear that he wanted to provide us with exactly what we wanted. Jack came back one more time (promptly) to ensure our measurements and our satisfaction with the proposed deck plan. Then he sent the contract, which broke down everything (labor, materials, etc.) in great detail, giving me peace of mind that there would be no "surprises" along the way. The team started working within a week, and they worked for the entire day! Most contractors, from what I've seen, have several projects going on at once, which means that each project takes longer because they're traveling between different jobs. Not this team. The deck was finished quicker than quoted, and it is beautiful! They left no mess at all, and the workmanship is stellar. Plus as an added bonus MS Construction told us that the gazebo we ordered was a high quality brand. After years of assembling gazebos, they know the high quality from the not so high quality brands. From the beginning, Giovanni was very good about communicating the process he recommended based on the state of our siding and was responsive through the end of the project. Their team sanded and stained all of the cedar at a fair price. And unlike other companies, they didn't pressure me to get the cedar restained more frequently than needed. If I had one minor suggestion, it would be to ask the staff to be careful around my plants, but honestly I would rate the job 9.9/10. When the color didn't turn out how I expected, the owner wrote me a long explanation for why he used a particular stain and the issues with my old stain. I really appreciated the explanation and that his team did a more labor intensive process (sanding all of the cedar siding) than other quotes I received. Several months later, they also went out of their way to get back to me on the stain they used because I want to stain my gates the same color. When the time comes again to restain our cedar, I'll definitely be giving Giovanni and Richard a call. Their customer service is top notch!

When I called Sun eve he said nothing was definite and had another job and he could do it the following week. Didn't confirm. Needed to ask the morning of if he was coming. He confirmed. He sounded sick. A lot of chest congestion and I didn't feel comfortable being around him. Next day he was in bad shape, needed quite a few rest breaks.I hired him to replace pergola and deck boards, power wash and stain. Missed some areas of the pergola with the power wash and asked about any other boards that needed replacement. He didn't act on that. Power wash on pergola was inadequate and left a lot of paint chips coming off on the deck. Anything above the estimate on the deck, The charge was a little excessive. Asked about sanding, he kept on evading the subject and just carried on with the staining. Didn't really give me a choice of stain. Says he uses brown on older decks. Not happy with the color.Noticed an additional board on the pergola that needed replacing after payment and asked if he would come back for that. Again, evading the issue. Finally told me he was not going to come back. I found his work to be inadequate at best. I'm sorry I hired him for my job and need to hire somebody else to address the issues.
