I have no complaints about the fence. They finished everything in one day. With that said, I am deducting a star because the crew tripped my breaker box. They plugged in a battery (Milwaukee? It was red. See photo) to the outlet I had a licensed contractor install to a recent closet extension in my backyard. I'm not sure how they even found that outlet as it's not close to the shared fence and is hidden by the A/C unit. I'm also not sure why they were that deep in my backyard when they were just supposed to be working on installing the new fence. If they had simply asked for permission to plug in the battery, this wouldn't have been an issue. I saw the battery charging as I was checking on the progress of the fence throughout the morning and thought nothing of it. It wasn't until that evening where I noticed that all the outlets in the back room didn't work that I started questioning the reason for the outage. After racking my brain and attempting to reset the breaker box, it dawned on me that it was because one of the workers was charging their battery. I don't know the voltage of the battery that they were charging, but it was too much for that outlet. They should've just used an outlet from my neighbor.

I chose S&J and within a few days, I had a date for installation of my fence (with 3 different heights) and two gates. This was all going to be done in one day (and it was a blistering hot day too!). The crew arrived on time and immediately began work on demolishing the old fence and then digging posts and construction of the new fence. It took all day, but by 5pm they were finished! The finished work was very good, they did not seem to cut any corners and really took the time to do things right. We brought a sample of our siding to match it and the person helping us assured us it was the same and so we purchased the 30 pieces we needed. We loaded and brought home the wood only to find it was not the same exact size. We called back to try to rectify the issue but the person we spoke with was not very helpful and told us that was the only size they had and we have to pay a restocking fee if we requested to return the materials purchased. Needless to say our hands were tied and our contractor had to spend extra time to modify the sidings.

Not happy with the color.Noticed an additional board on the pergola that needed replacing after payment and asked if he would come back for that. Again, evading the issue. Finally told me he was not going to come back. I found his work to be inadequate at best. I'm sorry I hired him for my job and need to hire somebody else to address the issues.
