I tried Pure Barre for about 3 months, but was seeking variety in my workouts. F2B offers that with a plethora of classes and times! My body (and mind) have been challenged and I love seeing how my strength improves each class. If you're looking for a small studio with great vibes, definitely come check this studio out. You will not regret it!

Fit to Be is located in the same building and on the same level as American Roadhouse. There's plenty of parking in the lot behind the building, and the studio has a small lobby area to wait in before classes start. They have a single room for classes, but it has a sliding barn door in the back, making it possible to conduct private training sessions at the same time a larger class is going on. Other reviews note that classes are capped at 15, but I've never had more than twelve. I have yet to take a class with Julie (the owner, acclaimed in many other reviews), but that's because I'm such a huge fan of Bryn's Ballerobica class at 9am on Saturdays. Barre or ballet-inpsired classes are a dime a dozen these days, but Ballerobica is the best I've found. It adds an aerobic element to the standard core exercises, so you feel like you've gotten a much bigger calorie burn. Plus, Bryn is a phenomenal teacher- she pushes without yelling and she is continually upbeat without being fake. Everyone -from students to teachers - seems genuinely glad to be there. I leave class feeling upbeat (and sweaty) which is exactly what I'm looking for. Though I discovered Fit to Be through Classpass (which is awesome, by the way), these are classes I might actually pay extra to be able to attend more of them than the three per month Classpass limits you to. At just $15 for one drop in class (and packages that go down in cost from there), Fit to Be is also one of the more reasonable gyms I've found. I can't wait to try more classes, because Fit to Be is certainly as good as it gets!

The Forum Athletic Club - Clear warning sign in the gym but staff doesn't care about health warnings

I plan on doing more of this in the future and what a great facility The Forum Athletic club was to start at. The gym's aesthetic fits the industrial theme in this area of Atlanta. It's super clean on the inside and small. Although it's small, it doesn't feel like it because it doesn't get crowded (at least the two times I went) and it still has everything you need to be successful in the gym. For example, squat racks, cardio machines, free weights, stretch area, cross fit style room, clean bathrooms, towels...I mean checks, after checks, after checks! I think I enjoyed this gym more than my home gym in Ft. Lauderdale but shhh don't tell anybody lol. The only con I would say is there isn't hand sanitizing wipes or machines. When I come back to the ATL I would def have to make it a priority to revisit.

Serious Safety & Liability Concerns - This Gym Puts Members at Risk…read more This gym is playing fast and loose with member safety, and it needs to be called out. The sauna has a clearly posted warning sign stating a maximum safe temperature of 185°F. Despite this, staff and management insist on running it at 200°F, knowingly exceeding their own posted safety limits. That alone is reckless and a massive liability issue. What made this worse: I entered the sauna first at a safe temperature. Another gym member then came in and turned the temperature up to 197°F, completely ignoring the warning sign. When I pointed out the posted safety limit, this individual became aggressive, threatened me, harassed me, and disturbed my peace while I was simply trying to protect my health. No member should feel unsafe--physically or verbally--while using a wellness facility. Management's response? Dismissive and unconcerned. Instead of addressing: * the unsafe temperature settings * the violation of posted safety guidelines * the harassment and threatening behavior by another member ...the manager failed to take the situation seriously at all. This gym is exposing itself to serious liability by: * Ignoring its own safety warnings * Allowing saunas to operate at dangerous temperatures * Failing to intervene when a member is threatened Saunas are supposed to support health--not endanger it. Until management starts prioritizing member safety, accountability, and basic respect, I strongly do not recommend this gym. Consider this a warning.

Some days, all I could do was come in and ride the bike, but they made it feel like life was still normal. Members brought me food, came with me to chemotherapy appointments, helped me recover from surgery, and took me to the beach! Michael and Autumn have been incredibly patient and supportive as I've worked to get back to normal. Michael always knew how to create a scaled workout that was challenging but exactly what I needed. This gym will forever be my home, and it is filled with truly amazing people. I'm grateful for the CrossFit training that helped me keep moving through such a difficult year, but I'm even more grateful for the community that supported me when I was at my weakest. The combination of physical training and genuine connection is powerful. If you're even remotely considering joining CrossFit, you should do it--you may find much more than a place to work out.

After not seeing the results I was used to seeing through barre from running, I decided to go back on the hunt for a new barre place. Let me go over some of my concerns before I started with Pure Barre. 1. It's expensive - Yes, it is way more expensive than other places. I am price conscious and it was daunting to think of how much I will be paying. I think that is what kept me away for a good long while from joining or checking this place out. Yes, it's expensive. Is it worth the money? Every single cent. I'm not normally the type to work out every day. I usually go every other day but with Pure Barre, I've been going every day. I feel like the instructors definitely pay attention to every single student and correct your poses to make sure you're working out (I can't even slack even if I wanted to). 2. Is this going to be a place I want to keep coming back to? - I worried about this because well if it's not a place I want to keep coming back to then I'm wasting money, right? The instructors and all the students here are fantastically friendly. It's been encouraging me to ramp up the number of times I work out in a week (almost every day now) and it's been great to be a part of the Pure Barre community. 3. Will I feel like I worked out sufficiently? - Yes. Yes, they will make sure you are doing your darned hardest when you're working out. They correct your posture and poses to make sure you're BURNING out those muscles. No classes are alike and even though I come every day, the classes have enough variance that it keeps it interesting. If you find yourself feeling like the classic isn't enough, try out Reform or Empower. They're both difficult in different ways (one is more focused on core and the other on cardio). I highly recommend Pure Barre to anyone looking for a studio class.

To begin, the name of this studio had me! Dogs?! I mean, c'mon. So cute! I attended the Yin class online with Alex. She is a great instructor. I loved how she integrated explaining Yin principles to the group and offering spiritual takes on Yin as a whole. Where I live, Yin classes can be hard to find, so I ALWAYS appreciate when an instructor know their stuff! Just FYI if you also plan to drop-in virtually: the instructor did not physically take the class with us, but rather talked to the screens. This doesn't bother me because I am an Advanced Yin student and can take verbal cues, but just worth noting if you need visuals. I'm in love with their colorful outlook, including their website, which says: We are still choosing love over fear. I regret not being able to experience their brick-and-mortar in-person, but this was a fun experience. I'd recommend this studio for Yin, without question. On my next trip to Atlanta, I would certainly take the time to visit Dancing Dogs Yoga!

MADabolic offers 3 varieties of…read morewell-structured group interval training classes that use equipment like kettlebells, medicine balls, ERG machines, punching bags, and slide boards. Pros: Each class begins with a thorough demo of each exercise and a walkthrough of the interval pattern. Classes incorporate a decent amount of rest between sets. Weights are already set up at each station, organized into five "lanes" by skill level. No surprises or confusion, you'll know exactly what you're doing and what weights to use throughout the class. There's a good variety of class times in the mornings and evenings. The instructors and the owner Rae foster a welcoming and motivating environment, and happy hours and member socials allow for community-building outside of class. MAD franchises across the east coast offer discounts for members visiting outside their home location. Cons: Classes are intense but on the shorter end with about 10 minutes for warming up and only 30 minutes for the main workout. Membership is on the pricier end and might only be worth it if you're willing to go 3-4x/week, though there are generous trial packages for first-timers. Gym equipment is not available outside of class times. Bottom line: If you're looking for a longer and more moderate workout, this may not be for you, but if you want an intense strength-training class in under an hour, you'll be impressed with the variety and quality of MADabolic. I highly recommend!
