After six months, I called to cancel (only way they allow) my membership today. I really wanted to like CorePower, in part because they do have some excellent instructors and nicely kept facilities with showers etc. which you most definitely want in Atlanta. 95% of classes in Atlanta I've found are heated and CorePower is no exception, much to my dismay. This company seems to be one of the only here with convenient (caveats) locations and consistent quality of instructors / facilities. I like all of their classes, C2 classes have been my sweet spot, YogaSculpt is my punishment when I'm late for C2 (kicks my ass), and C1 when I've been beat. Tara, Ben and Cassidy are outstanding instructors and the rest of this review is no reflection on the staff. For $150/mo I really had hopes of this being a one-stop yoga shop. All they'd need is a smattering of yin and restorative classes, and some unheated options. I must say though, even after C1 classes, I've never left feeling relaxed. Great workouts, but must those be our only choices? On top of this, with the exceptions of the instructors I mentioned, all of the instructors have the same monologues down verbatim. Combined with how formulaic each class is, I never really felt like I was leaving yoga afterwards. Lastly, there are varying policies on tardiness. I admit I push it there sometimes, but today I was under two minutes late (due to parking nightmares) to three classes in midtown and O4W. Occasionally I've gotten lucky when someone was still in the front of the studio. Other times I've been told 5 minutes is the absolute latest anyone can be let in. The last straw today was a young woman coming out of the utility closet inside mouthing through the glass that she didn't have a key to open the door for me. I understand more affordable or smaller studios not being able to keep a staff person out front as a courtesy for 5 minutes, but there's no excuse for CorePower. I signed up for the two week free membership. I ended up cancelling my membership the day I was charged for the full month. I was moving cross country and just missed the deadline by a few hours. I emailed and called to ask for a refund but the people I communicated with were extremely unsupportive and not willing to help. The membership is expensive and I didn't use the membership at all for the period I was charged for. I enjoyed the classes themselves but am extremely disappointed with the company and the customer service. I would've considered re-joining once settled in my new city at a future date but am thoroughly disappointed by my interactions now and the lack of any grace. read more

Day(s): I signed up for the free week so I would say this is going to be a pretty thorough review. Location: Within Ponce City Market but it isn't nestled in the maze of PCM. It is on a corner actually. What I can do without is paying to park but that's just how the market is. You do get a discount with a promo code. There is WiFi. Not stream Netflix and Chill kinda WiFi but it's enough for Instagram and such. That bathroom/locker room is extremely clean for a place that has sweaty bodies moving around every hour. Atmosphere & Classes: I did not feel uncomfortable or unwelcomed upon arrival. They gave me a tour and asked if I needed to borrow a mat. Yoga blocks are stacked in the studio. After you check in the instructor will inform you of which studio you'll be practicing in. It was just what I needed in a yoga studio. The amount of space is a major plus. Since some studios have you piled on top of each other and it's not a good look. But you won't experience that here. The instructors were awesome and I even had a class with an instructor from another studio [he was a sub] and he's great too! read more

I'm writing this after taking 19 classes so I'm not basing this off a small number of experiences and amhaving a very difficult experience here, let's start off with the fact the membership is 175 per month. For that price you would expect clean floors and weights, clean showers and locker rooms. The floors are always covered in debris and look to be never vacuumed at 6 am. The lockers have thick dust, mold showers, underwear and toilet paper on the ground. The weights never get cleaned but sprayed with a disinfectant instead so they are slimy and leave a black residue on your hands, smell strongly of chemicals and made my hand sting. The vents are covered in thick dust, even though it's a barefoot studio the floors aren't cleaned between classes which I've seen done at cheaper studios. Now the worst part, the classes never change the yoga sculpt teachers do the same class over and over which the same exact words. The cardio portions are sometimes ridiculous and consistently jumping with party arms. One class an instructor YELLED PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY while we did burpees over and over. It was ridiculous loud and childish I joined to mainly do yoga sculpt and Unheated strength x classes which are supposed to be Unheated as you are lifting heavy and doing strength training. Both classes I tried to attend were heated to 91 degrees. You can literally kill someone and would never be recommended by ANY DOCTOR. Online it says it's unheated and I called corporate and they said it's definitely supposed to be unheated but these teachers just do what they want and put peoples lives in danger.I asked two different physicians if people should do burpee's in 90 degree heat and both looked immediately said absolutely not, when I told this to an instructor she said well my 200 hours of training says otherwise than your two doctors . I was told that one of the teachers did her yoga sculpt class at 98 degrees ( light weights and burpee's etc) definitely dangerous but lifting 15 to 20 pound weights in 91 degrees and rising is a lawsuit in the making. On my entry into my first strength class the teacher rudely squawks at me don't pick up 5 pound weights and storms off, that's a clue right there as to the level of unprofessional behavior. I lift weights and use 15 and 20 pound weights but you can't tell someone to not use lighter weights as you don't know their level of fitness. The teacher was Alex and is consistent in unprofessional conduct.The yoga classes are heated to 103 degrees in bikrim syle and there is no evidence by any reputable doctor that this is helpful and bikrim was outed as a conman who also had a woman die of heat exhaustion at one of his teacher trainings. She is not the first person to die in 103 degree hot yoga. I hope this company gets its act together because this is unsafe and unhygienic. Update I had small charges for $2 here and there when I have bought nothing and borrowed nothing. I had to change my entire credit card and complete stop payments. FYI core power has NO PHONE in studio. You call a call center that pretends to be headquarters, the call was taken by a lady in her home who knew no managers names, was not an employee and had zero resources to actually help me or fix safety violations in studio. read more

Super disappointed in how the company is handling CoVid. First they make you sign this 10 page waiver and which understandable but really super litigious and sad. It basically transfers all of the responsibilities to the customer and by the way they no longer rent mats. (no mention on the site for that) Then you ask if there is a discount on the matts in store and they say NO, and lowest price is 68 dollars :(. For a company that markets itself and customer first this is NOT the path to that end. It is bummer because I was a customer for over a year with unlimited visits and automatic monthly withdrawals. Moving on .... they should check out "be hot yoga" around the corner... you can rent mats and no corporate waivers. Maybe think twice about working out here and adhering to the corporate jargon. Oh Core Power Yoga, let me count the ways I love you: Community atmosphere, variety of classes, cleanliness of changing areas/showers/yoga rooms, and most of all--fantastic instructors: Alex, Brit, Danielle, Kayla, Emily are standouts for me but all are very good! Since my original review, I've gone full on - Hot Power Fusion, Core 2, and Yoga Sculpt - all hot with added humidity and challenging but excellent. Feel AMAZING after. Lots of new great teachers & I enjoy my Black Tag membership at Buckhead, PCM, Midtown and N Druid Hills locations. Amazing value and workout. So I've taken a lot of yoga classes in my time. I am also an instructor for another health studio. But don't teach yoga. All that being said I am very reserved to giving critique. I took Mij class a few weeks ago. I was under the impression it was going to be a heated flow class. Something that might help me unwind as I was very stressed out that day. Usually, yoga clears me up. Unfortunately this class drove me to go get a beer afterwards. It was entirely too fast for a regular flow class. Many of the students were having a hard time keeping up. Which would normally not be an issue if it were an advanced class or a power flow class. But, this is supposed to be a regular heated flow class. The instructor herself at times was unaware of where she was going from one movement to another, Lost what side been worked, she generally unaware of the classes frustration to keep up with her pace. Also what troubled to me most was at the end of class the instructor turned off the heat and turned on the AC. Making it extremely hard to relax in gaining any perspective on my practice. Needless to say I will not be coming back. I should mention however I have gone to the core power in Buckhead. The instructors there seem a lot more professional and aware of common yoga practices and techniques. read more

Brianna was a fantastic instructor. Yoga Sculpt is no joke, whoever thinks Yogis don't get a crazy work out should try out this class!!! The pace is fast and the level of difficulty is fairly high, but the good news is that it's only 1hr. The location itself is quite convenient especially since I live right at PCM. I wish they had discounts for residents. $150 a month feels a bit pricey for Atlanta (although everything in this area seems to be pricey "for Atlanta"). I believe they have a special that is only $115 monthly, but I am not sure how long that will last. It would be great if that special was permanent for residents, there aren't that many residents at the Flats anyway so it's not like they would be losing money and they would get consistent clientele. I plan to take full advantage of their one week free, but then there are other studios that have introductory monthly discounts so I would like to take advantage of those (given that I am new in town). This yoga studio is top notch though. The dressing rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything is nicely decorated but not overly so. Bring your own locks for the lockers or if you forget, they have some to lend, you just have to ask for it. Because I live in The Flats I don't have to worry about parking so I don't know if they validate or if you have to pay an extra fee for PCM parking on top of the price of the class. read more

I've been to many yoga studios in Atlanta, and CorePower is one of my favorites. I started going to CorePower when I lived in Boston, and I was excited that there were two (soon to be three!) locations in Atlanta. I have only been to this location, and the other studio is in Buckhead. CorePower Yoga is located right in Ponce City Market. I've never had trouble finding parking in the open lot right outside. You can pay the machine or pay from your mobile app, which is pretty convenient. The studio itself is very clean and welcoming. The instructors I've had have all been great. I've taken classes with Emily, Jen, and Mimi. All the classes here give you a great workout (for your core especially, hence the name!) Classes are taught pretty consistently, so you typically know what to expect, with a few variations here and there depending on the instructor. CorePower Yoga 2 - heated vinyasa flow. I really enjoy this class. You get a good sweat and the heat allows you to stretch deeper and challenge yourself further. Hot Power Fusion - heated (obviously). Poses in this class are more similar to bikram, rather than vinyasa. They also have hot power fusion classes with candlelight on some weeknights. It's a nice touch, but not too much different. Yoga Sculpt - one of my favorites! You use two sets of weights in this class (lighter set usually 3 lbs, heavier set usually 5 lbs) and you get a good arm and core workout in. The locker rooms are very clean and have a few showers for your use after class if you wish. There is a filtered water machine, which I've learned not to take for granted since many studios don't have one at all, and you definitely need to stay hydrated before, during, and after class! NOTE: If you're a new customer, you get one week of free yoga to try out all the different classes! read more

So guys...I think in love...with Sculpt that is! This is a must try class. All Core Power Yoga Studios gives everyone and their brother a free week, so if you are like me and love yoga but want a little more in a yoga-type workout, Sculpt is for you. When I explain it to friends, I tell them it's Yoga poses with weights, add some agility cardio, some core work, listen to hip-hop music, and feel amazingly dead after class! It's awesome!!! Parking does stink here though, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to either find parking on the street or nearby neighborhoods. You can also pay for parking (which I believe the studio reimburses for 1/2 the hourly amount). Just some tips for first timers: 1) Position yourself in the middle back of class so you can always see what others are doing. In each class you end up turning to one side and the other, so if you are in the middle back, you can always watch someone to know what the heck you are doing. 2) I bring two water bottles to Hot Power Fusion (another fun class where the sequence is the exact same every time...the only way this class stinks is if a new instructor doesn't make it hot enough because it's just boring then, but if it's hot, it'll kick your butt in a good way), and then I bring either 1 or two water bottles to the other classes. You'll definitely sweat and you will feel great afterwards! 3) If you really want to enjoy your yoga class, I definitively recommend a good yoga mat so you don't start slipping when you sweat. "The Mat" at Lululemon is awesome! I know it may seem expensive for a mat, but definitely worth it. That's like the only thing I buy at Lululemon that I don't feel is overpriced haha 4) wear a sweat headband 5) bring a bathroom towel to lay on your mat for when you lay down and do core work. You'll be sweaty and the towel is a good way to avoid getting your mat all slippery. 6) bring a face towel to class as well. I just throw it over my water bottle(s) when I'm ready to use it. 7) bring a gym lock to lock up your stuff Ok! That should be it! Enjoy! Cheers to health! read more

I took a CorePower Yoga class using my ClassPass that I snagged for a great deal. I didn't see any promotions about a free week of classes on the website (but it is there now. Newcomers get a free week of unlimited classes!). I saw the offer on a sign on the storefront window as I was going in to take my first class. It may be a temporary deal. But once you take your first class, you are eligible for a free week of yoga classes. The CorePower Yoga studio is located in the newly renovated Ponce City Market. The studio is breath-taking. The venue is beautiful and upscale with its hardwood floors and tasteful interior design. The building has that new building smell. Everything just looks and feels clean and fresh. There are plenty of lockers in the locker room. In the bathroom area, there are four or five shower stalls which are stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Parking is $0.35. You can get 1 hour of complimentary parking that is available a Ponce City Market. To get CorePower Yoga's validated parking, you have to download the Park Mobile app, sign up and then enter the promotional code that CorePower Yoga will provide to you. The code is good for 1 hour. The mobile app will charge you a $0.35 transaction fee that is unavoidable. You have to bring your own yoga mat, towel and water bottle. They have supplies on premises, but they charge $2.00 for yoga mat rentals, $2.00 for a water bottle, etc. If you are participating in their promotional free week, all supplies can be provided to you free of charge. I would recommend getting to class early, as it is somewhat difficult to find among all of the stores in Ponce City Market. It took me a while to find it. The actual class was just the right level of challenging for me. The room was heated, so it was definitely a hot yoga class. I was taking a "C2" class (The "C1" class is not heated, I believe, but there are descriptions about the class levels on the CorePower Yoga website). I was sweating like crazy, but it felt detoxifying. The yoga exercises consisted of holding a sequence of various yoga poses, then repeating that sequence a few times. Then, the instructor would switch to a new sequence with new poses. The class allows you to practice balancing, strength and relaxation techniques. After the class, I felt extremely refreshed. I think they had some incense burning in the class. The smell was great. The music was instrumental and relaxed, some songs having a spiritual undertone and using sounds from nature. No pop music. Update: I took a C1 class as part of my free week. It was a heated yoga class that was less advanced and less challenging than the C2 class. I sweated a lot less than when I did the C2 class, but I would recommend this class people who are new to yoga or who have not practiced much strength training. The Corepower studio at Ponce City Market is where I fell in love with Yoga. I had tried yoga studios before but it never really stuck and I would usually quit after a few sessions. Since then, I am proud to call PCM my home studio and have grown so much both physically and spiritually since regularly attending C2. During my time in Georgia this Summer, I visited Core Power Yoga. I was new to the Georgia yoga scene and fresh off the plane from NYC. Most of their classes, minus one, were hot yoga classes. "Why?" I think to myself. Georgia is already super hot. I'm not quite sure why hot yoga is such a trend in the south. I was 5 minutes late for the class and unaware of their late policy which basically states if you are even 1 minute late, you have to wait outside the studio and outside the building. No one is allowed inside the building at all while class is in session. I see a woman in the retail shop of the yoga studio cleaning the windows and I tap on the window since the entry doors were locked. She ignores me. I'm confused. "Gawd! I wish I were back in NY." After several taps and a bang, she finally came to the door looking scared. She tells me that she is not allowed to open the door or have anyone shop the retail section as no one is available to help with purchase since everyone is teaching classes. So what do I do for a whole hour? I can't even change in the locker room? She closes the door and doesn't even elaborate. I Ieave the studio entryway confused and head to my residential destination. Two 30 minute trips wasted. A few days later, I returned and spoke with the manager. She explained to me that the young woman was correct and that she should not have even opened the door to speak with me. I make another confused face. She states that because the young woman is a work-study student, she is not an official employee (another confused face) so they have to lock the building while classes are in session. "So we can't even sit in the retail section, purchase from the retail shop, prepare for the next class in the locker room, or sit in the lobby and wait for the next class? We have to wait outside or roam for an hour in the heat?" "Yes" she stated. That was my first and last interaction with Core Power Yoga. read more

Do not go to this location! I tried to come here as the kickoff to my birthday celebration and they locked me out! My friend who was taking the class with me told me told them I would be five minutes late because parking is crazy at ponce city. They told her it was fine and proceeded to lock the door 2 minutes after the start of class! Considering there are so many great places to practice yoga in Atlanta I would be sure to give your business to one of the places that actually has good customer service like Atlanta hot yoga for example. Somehow many of the other studios are able to pay someone to sit at the front desk and still charge less for classes. Really makes you think about the difference between providing a service to the community versus only caring about money... read more

I've enjoyed Core Power classes, but have been hesitant to join this location despite the convenience in location, and after tonight, I definitely won't be returning. While trying to get home and into the parking garage at PCM, I was waiting behind an SUV that had stopped outside of Core Power. A young woman was standing at the passenger side door, talking into the car, for long enough that I politely tapped my horn as a reminder that the traffic snaking around the parking lot towards the garage was backing up with no way around the car. The woman made a rude gesture in response, slowly strolled away from the car taking as long as possible, then UNLOCKED the front door to Core Power and went inside. Frankly, I was pretty shocked that someone who obviously works at the studio would be so overtly rude right in front of the studio and then make it apparent she was an employee by unlocking the door and walking in. There are a ton of options for yoga around (not to mention the free class that was currently being held across the street at O4W park), and to me, that kind of attitude outside the studio only belies a disingenuous practice inside of it. read more

I've been a CorePower member for several months now and it's been an amazing experience! I love the flexibility of having multiple locations - and not having to sign up for classes in advance (which means no fees for missing). I frequent the Midtown location most often - the instructors are fantastic and parking is easy. Hot Power Fusion is my favorite class because it's the hottest - and I've come to love going through the same sequence every class. (That said, I had to work up to HPF. The first time I took this class it was too difficult for me.) Another reason I love CPY: the mirrors! I hate when yoga studios don't have mirrors - I find them helpful for alignment and also super motivating. I've also gone to CPY classes in other states while traveling. It's really nice that I can show up to any of the studios and know exactly what to expect. Thank you CPY for creating such a positive and encouraging community! read more

Corepower yoga is an excellent workout. It is a warm yoga class and can be challenging!

You'll find sweet, enthusiastic instructors, just the right amount of heat and the ideal ambiance to get your mind and your workout right. But I can't stress the importance of giving yourself plenty of time to get to class as parking can be difficult and the studio locks their doors right at the start of class. They do this because...the teacher has to go in and teach silly! I do think they are just a little overpriced. I pay $20 or less to go elsewhere. But, that's really their only flaw. Oh wait...this is so minor, but...I would love it if they provided small plastic grocery bags that you can throw your nasty, sweaty clothes in after class. Any other studio I've ever been to has always provided this. I just always try to remember to bring my own. No biggie. read more

Ok so, me and friends were meeting up to try the week classes. I looked for parking and found parking in the garage. I figured out their pay station instructions, and had 5 mins to spare to find the location. I tried using my google maps walking app to no avail. My friend was on the phone with me trying to get me in the right place. At 12:02, the lady told her to join the class or leave. My friend tried to explain that I was here, had paid for parking, and was just trying to find the location. The lady wasn't having that explanation and told her she didn't care and was locking the door. I found the yoga location at 12:03 thanks to a developer who saw me looking lost. 12:03: Door locked. For this location to open recently, I'd thought they'd be a little more understanding of people that are trying to find their location. I definitely don't want to give my money to a place like that. read more

I recently started attending Core Power Yoga classes and can't say enough wonderful things about the staff ....although I only have taken YogaSculpt...I love the instructors who are always welcoming, provide great instruction , push you to do your best, and are just really nice. They always welcome everyone with a smile and made me feel comfortable from the very first class. read more
