Everyone here is incredibly awesome, welcoming, and friendly. I've never been to a Pilates style studio that made me feel this comfortable from day one. I've also never had muscle definition like I've developed since going to [solidcore] Midtown. Every single coach brings something unique, so the workouts are never boring or repetitive. Pilates is one of my favorite activities! It is true that it never gets easier. I remember thinking this is NOT for me when I first started. What a newbie. I had no idea what I was doing. After a few years, I've learned to listen to the instructor and how to do the exercises correctly. And yes. It doesn't get easier!!! The more you practice, the harder it gets! And it hurts so good. Point is to get your body "shaking" into a stage of muscle failure. All the teachers and accommodations are wonderful. I love this location as well as the dunwoody location. There is one head coach, Jake, that is amazing!! I noticed their audio system has improved to where I can tell the difference between the music and teacher speaking! That was one of the main issues back then when I first started. Now, I'm 25+ classes deep and still feel like a baby here but never regret coming to a class! read more

Solid ore fitness offers guests a reformer pilates like experience on a slightly different machine that is more geared towards weight training. PROS: - First off, the employees were absolutely fabulous! Everyone was so friendly and they set you up with a machine and help all new guests in the studio by adjusting the springs and weight increments for you. CONS: - I found the it difficult to follow along because everything is said over the speakerphone while loud music is blasting in the background. It was difficult to understand the moves the instructor wanted us to do because it was said very quickly and I didn't understand the lingo. I think I would have enjoyed the class more and known what to do if the instructor demonstrated the moves to the class as she was telling us what to do. I'm sure it will get easier to know the movements as you attend more and more classes. Perhaps I tried a class that I assumed would be like reformer Pilates and it's possible I should have taken a basic class where they explain the moves and terminology because half the time I was looking around the room wondering what I was supposed to be doing. Allover it was a good workout but I did feel confused at many points throughout the workout. Would I Return? Possibly if I'm in the Atlanta area :-) read more

Solidcore is located in Midtown right next to Dancing Goat. There is a parking deck next to it and Solidcore validates your parking! First, it is a tough workout! I wouldn't recommend this class if you're brand new to working out. There are so many classes throughout the day, there will be at least one to fit your schedule. Solidcore challenges you in so many ways. It uses pilates on a reformer, ensuring slow movements to give you the "shakes". I can easily notice a change in my core after just two classes. I have taken Coach Mary and Claire's classes. & I was able to mirror Coach Lyndsay while taking Coach Claire's class. With a variety of classes that focus on different muscle groups, I see why Solidcore is so popular. For class pass users, there are VERY limited spots available. It is much easier to get a membership or class pack. I opted for the 10-class pack to start off with. The best part is that I can also go to the Sandy Springs location. 'New year new me' resolution started with this mission to try as many gyms in my local area. I came across [SolidCore] via an instagram add. I signed up and shortly after that I was contacted by a sweet rep from the Midtown gym. Claire helped answer all my questions about what [SolidCore] is and a little on what I could expect. She expressed that my drop in would be $30 some odd dollars, but if I didn't ABSOLUTELY FALL INLOVE, she would completely refund me. How could I say no? She instructed me to download the app (*super user friendly!) and there I could sign up for my FIRST class! I sighed up for Claire's Full Body early evening class. Day of, my excitement was through the roof. Claire talked up this class soo much, I had very high expectations. On the app, day of your workout you are given a door-code you must use to enter the gym. This was a new feature I've never experienced, but digged the security and exclusivity it added to my experience already. The gym was small but just enough. It did feel cramped in the front area. Upon walking in, you're greeted by the lobby to the left and workout studio to the right. The lobby area is equipped with two benches flanking a locker area *squeezed into a hallway right in-front the bathrooms. This made for a cramped congested area as people were coming in and quickly trying to lock up their belongings and use the restrooms. I would love to see some reorganization of this area... maybe placing more seating near the front area to accommodate the crowds coming in and out. Other than the limited space to prepare for your class, they offered waters and Celsius to purchase. Entering the studio you see mirrors on every wall and about 6 or so reformers all aligned in one row. Dim lighting with tons of blue mood lighting. The music was trendy and brought tons of energy, just incase you weren't already pumped enough. 10 minutes into the workout I realized that Claire was about to kick my butt! Throughout the workout Clair walked around and made adjustments to our form as needed. She was very attentive to each client and made sure we all felt noticed and encouraged us all! The headset she speaks from was plenty loud, but I would occasionally find myself unsure of what the next move was. Definitely need a few more classes to get used to the lingo. Nothing too difficult though. An hour passed by quickly and boy I knew I was going to be sore! My legs were shaking and my abs were shot by the end! I was hooked! I ended up upgrading my one day pass to a two week unlimited pass. I cant wait to begin my journey with this gym. If you are seeking a challenging workout that offers high energy yet low impact, [SolidCore] is your place! Highly recommend. Cant stop telling everyone I know about them. read more

Really intense but low impact workout. Would recommend easing into this and start out going once a week or so, unless you are in great shape. I've only been once but I would imagine it takes several classes to get accustomed to all of the lingo and directives. read more

If your looking for a intense workout , Solidcore is a place you might want to try . The facility is great and the machines are very easy to use but you have the option of adjusting you difficulty to your preferences while doing all the exercises with the other members. Just sign up for a class , go for 50 min , and try your best to stick in there for the full session. Great atmosphere, teachers , and people ! read more

I was introduced to [solidcore] a little under a month through a member and then brought two additional friends more than 4x to class. Each time I always brought my cellphone. Unfortunately, I do need to be available to clients even when trying to work out. I've never been called out or approached about it before. Coach Margaret repeatedly called me the wrong name during class. When I checked my phone about half way through class she felt the need to address it over the entire class. Because I often confuse my right and left, I transitioned into a move facing the opposite direction of the rest of my class. When corrected by the instructor,I graciously adjusted. I'm not experienced in the [solidcore] culture. These are first time instances that occur when becoming familiar with a new workout. When the workout was finished Margaret congratulated me on a great class and high five'd me. I was caught of guard to find the attached e-mail send to me a few hours later. I believe that relationships are the key to any successful business. As a coach she could've relayed that information in a much less presumptuous manner and kept a client! read more

Solidcore was definitely the hardest workout I have ever done. This was the second studio I have visited and loved the workout at both locations. Midtown had very friendly staff - the instructor (Kafi) walked everyone through the mechanics of the reformer ahead of time and was super motivating the whole class. She made an effort to learn everyone's names and made hands-on corrections as needed. When I had a question for the manager, she made sure to email her and both of them responded to me very promptly. The studio is very clean and welcoming. I love the bathroom floors where you can write motivating messages, etc. They provide towels for free (I recommend using two - one for the back of your machine and one for the front) and have apparel and water for sale. They also provide parking validation. THe workout itself was incredibly challenging - it is a lot of small, slow movements that really let you focus and target on specific muscle groups. My abs haven't been this sore in a very long time! They are new to classpass and are also offering pretty decent introductory packages that I may take advantage of. I really wanted to like Solidcore- and don't get me wrong, it is a great workout! But this place seems to cater more to people already in good shape that want to get into GREAT shape, Not people that are NOT in shape and want to get in shape. I felt pretty left out in the classes- I warned every instructor prior to class I had not worked out in 2 years- some were better than other in helping me find modifications to certain things I could not do. I would rather do all reps at a lighter weight then do 2 reps in total at higher weight. Some instructors saw me struggling and did not offer help modifying. Alas, I felt pretty bad about myself and will not be returning . At 43 I need a place to will cater more to my age bracket. If you are already in good shape then yes you will love it. read more

After 2.5 years of utter devotion (well over 300 classes), corporate culture consumed my once favorite workout and wrecked the community vibe. The machines are not cleaned frequently or thoroughly enough. Woe is you if you get a stinky machine. Most of the instructors with professional certifications have left or been pushed out (my perception is my reality), and the brand seems to favor skinny lithe and lovely instructors who lack experience & deep knowledge of anatomy and fitness principles. I started noticing that the motivational chatter in classes was more scripted and had this "we are a team" theme (?!) and the music is way too loud. Same words from different instructors. They are chintzy with towels. Some people like loud workout music, but I like being able to hear so I wore earplugs. However, the music choices were good and interesting variety - at least until I left, that hadn't been packaged and branded & reflected instructors' personal choices. There are some good instructors still working there, so if you want to give it a shot, look for Rose, Margaret, Shosho, Jordan, Andrea, Ashley. read more

Coming from a Pilates background, I wanted a workout that was mind-body focused, but strong enough to make me sweat. [solidcore] brings the intensity of a bootcamp-like workout, but still requires me to focus on my muscles and be present during the exercises. The classes are very challenging, but everything comes in short bursts so you don't get bored with the exercises. Everyone is very friendly, helpful, and supportive. This is also a major plus, because sometimes gyms with a strong culture (like a Pilates studio or Crossfit gym) can also be a bit intimidating. [solidcore] definitely gives you a physical and mental challenge, in an uplifting environment. Highly recommended! read more

I have Been going to SolidCore for a year now and have loved it. I am no beginner to the fitness industry and tend to bounce around multiple concepts at a time but this has remained constant simply because it never gets easier and it LEANS ME OUT! As a shorter girl, creating that lean toned torso is hard and this does the trick. Lastly, the midtown location just got a new studio manager, Shannon. She is sweet as could be!! Went to my first class of [solidcore] today. I had been wanting to try it for a while after I first heard about it, but finally got around to it today. I do olympic and power lifting, and circuit training/conditioning work 6-7 days a week. I've done Crossfit before, and ran long distance a while back. But this workout still kicked my butt. My instructor this morning was Kafi, and she was excellent. She made the effort to help me learn the movements, and was consistently encouraging and checking form for everyone. It was easy to follow the instructions - but the movements themselves were HARD. So hard that the 50 minutes flew by, because I was so focused on not dying. I would encourage anyone who is looking to change up their routine and try something new to give this a shot. read more

I went to solidcore to change up my routine a bit from the normal big box gym. I was so impressed from the moment I walked through the door. The coaches were so nice and explained the equipment and process of the class. My coach was Taylor and she was so patient and helpful during my time here. She really encouraged all of the first timers. The workout is extremely challenging and I workout often. I purchased the unlimited week for $49 and I hope to attend 3 classes. I went to solidcore yesterday and I am so sore to the point that I thought I had a hernia. I love that the classes are 50 minutes. The time moves so quickly because you are constantly focusing on not dying. I love the ambiance here-very club like. Dim, blue lights + the latest hits playing. The teachers are all great and the class size is small. The machines are all in good condition and the studio is super clean. No showers available but big changing rooms. Classes are in the $20 range based on packages. I think its a great complement to bootcamp or cardio intense classes. Core is key! read more

wow! [solidcore] is totally unexpected, and awesome. While I thought the reformers were really nap tables...they are not. I consider myself a fit person, and after my first few classes, I have been humbly put back in my place, challenged, and motivated. This workout that my guess is similar but an edgier version of pilates (I don't know, never done pilates). Each exercise is full body, core, legs, arms, until your muscles, mind, maybe even will is shaking to the core. When I leave, I feel so accomplished, still shaking, and just fit. Like I'm ready to go on the bachelor or something. anyway, it's really cool and definitely different than anything I've ever tried. I will definitely keep going back, and hope to see you there... [Solidcore] is everything that it promises to be: high intensity, low impact, feel like you're dying in class but feel amazing afterward. I started coming to the studio because of some back pain that I was hoping could be relieved by strengthening my core, and it's made a huge difference. Plus, the coaches at the studio are great. I absolutely love this new Pilates reformer class and happy to have them in Atlanta! They have great cues and set ups for beginners and well as challenges for those more advanced. I would highly suggest everyone go and at least try it out. Great variety to any workout program and goals. read more

I love [solidcore]! It has been a life (and body) changing experience for me! I'm in my 30s now, so maintaining and losing weight is more difficult than it once was. The workout is intense but goes by super quickly. The prompts and cues get easier each visit, and the music playing (along with the coach's instruction) keeps your brain occupied. I noticed changes immediately, and it has kept me hooked! Bonus- I've gone to locations around DC as well as ATL... and they've all been consistent/awesome!! read more

I just took my first class with Andrea yesterday, and to say that this workout definitely kicked my butt is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! I have a background in dance, pilates and yoga, but since I'm not 21 anymore I also have the physical challenges of knee issues..Andrea was super nice, encouraging, and provided great adjustments and pose options, which meant the world to me, because I was frustrated, struggling (and sweating like crazy!) and had to take a few breaks due to the intensity of holding some poses. This morning I'm sore in spots that have never been sore before, so I will be back because I love a challenge! I went in for my first class today. It was awesome! Hanna Beth was our instructor and she was just great! I am new to these megaformers and she did a fantastic job explaining them to me before class. I tried a similar class at a different studio but this one was so nice inside and the lighting, music, and energy made it awesome. The workout is deceptively difficult. I am in very good shape and I was really struggling (in a good way). My legs, arms, everything was shaking. I'm going to be feeling this tomorrow for sure. I highly recommend trying this place out. The culture of this gym is unparalleled. You immediately feel welcomed and excited to start class. The team is so warm and accommodating and always looking to push you to have your best workout. There may be gyms that also use the megaformer in Atlanta, but [solidcore] doesn't make you feel like a beginner or an outsider. Everyone is seen and treated like an equal. I have never been one of those people who like workout classes....in all the ones I've ever tried I felt like they were more focused on losing weight (and therefore muscle) than anything else, and I felt extremely stupid for spending money to make myself look smaller rather than stronger. I walked past [solidcore] one day on the way home from the grocery store, noticed that it said "get ready to sweat" on the door, and thought I'd give it a try. My first class was a Monday night at 6:00 with Sue. Before class, the instructors show you what all moves you are going to do in class so you can kind of get an idea of what to expect. I work out all the time, so I went into this class pretty confident in my abilities. That changed during the abs WARM-UP...this warm up was more abs than I normally do during my whole workout...and I was DRENCHED in sweat within 5 minutes. Needless to say that was the absolute hardest 50 minutes of my entire life. I considered running out to "go to the bathroom" to get a break, was constantly questioning why I decided to do this to my body, and was sweating like no other. This class absolutely kicked my butt, leaving me sore from head-to-toe...and yet in some twisted way, I was immediately addicted. I just finished my 20th class this morning at 6 am and it hasn't gotten any easier, but my body craves the soreness and shaky muscles. The sveatlana machine is an unforgiving machine that will push your body and mind further than you ever thought. I'm much stronger, both physically and mentally, than I was in my first class and I'm sore and more toned in muscles I didn't even know I could isolate so well. [Solidcore] has officially made me a "workout class" person and I don't know what I would do without it. The instructors are absolutely incredible...special shoutout to the ones I've had (and hated): Sue, Taylor, Ramone, Kafi, Allison, and Lindsay...thank you so much for everything you've done for me and my body! read more
