We found our new favorite Cuban restaurant. It's a little out of our way but certainly worth it. The food was authentic and the service was wonderful. When we arrived rather early there were only two other tables filled and a few people at the bar. We were seated immediately and served a delicious bread basket. As the night progressed so did the people. We had our order in mind before we arrived, Ropa Vieja and Palomilla Steak. I was able to substitute the rice and beans for a very fresh side salad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere felt like a comfortable authentic Cuban restaurant and we were amazed to hear they have been here 35 years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our sever had been there 25 years. We ended our dinner with Decaf cuban coffee - an oxymoron but we slept well that night and dreamt of our delicious meal ! It will be a regular stop from now on.

If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would. The shrimp dish was solid. The chicken dish was good. The service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was interesting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The value was decent. The amount of food was reasonable.

We really enjoyed our dinner here on Sept 10. They started us out with fresh warm buttered bread that was so soft and fluffy. We ordered drinks, mine was the Havana mojito (tequila) and while it didn't taste very strong at all ie i couldn't tell there was tequila in it, it was delicious with plenty of fresh mint and I did enjoy it. We had empanadas as appetizer and the hot pico they came with was awesome - empanadas were impressively moist fresh and very full. Best we've had. I ordered vaca frita which was crispy with a good mild flavor of the marinade And crispy without being oily. Ordered black beans to put atop the white rice and they were very flavorful too. Sweet plantains, delicious. My husband ordered the Churrasco a thin steak with chimichurri which was ok - he enjoyed it enough especially after putting a side of spicy hot pico on top, but I don't think he liked it enough to order it again. I tasted it and thought the chimichurri was not quite as flavorful as I'd hoped, to help the otherwise bland steak. So putting hot pico on the leftovers he took home really helped it. He also ordered a side of black beans to go with his rice. He enjoyed his bourbon & tonic. Next time we may try the Moho rice I think it's called, that already has black beans in it. I don't know if I can do a double review or how many photos I can post but a few days later we ordered delivery of Cubano sandwiches, one with fries & one with plantain chips that come with them; plus a tamal and 2 empanadas. The empanadas were a bit disappointing compared to the above mentioned dine-in experience because they weren't nearly as full. I've never had a Cuban tamal before (we split it) so I don't know what's fair to say about it - other than it was not to my liking enough to order it again. There were chopped bits of pork in it and I don't know what the orange coloring was but overall somewhat bland and couldn't taste the pork bits. I had been hoping the pork would be in the center, meaty chunk surrounded by the corn tamal so that I could actually taste the pork. The tamal was laying atop an oily-orange soaked corn husk in the go container. Oh and there were onions in there too, to eat with it. The Cuban sandwiches were good & meaty. My husband commented though that they were too dry. He added pickles and mustard to his; I didn't add anything. It was good, but I'm not sure it's the best Cubano I've tasted. I did love the shredded roast pork in it - that's always the best part to me. I saved the plantain chips for later snack and enjoyed them. Oh and we don't know why but my sandwich came with liquidy mojo sauce/ marinade, and my husband's didn't. I did dip some bites into it for the moisture especially some pieces of the bread/bun, but the flavorful marinade then takes over and it's not the same as eating a Cuban sandwich for the meat & cheese flavors. Overall the vaca frita was the best food there so far and I'd go back to dine in again in hopes the empanadas are just better as served for dine in. Wink. I might also be interested in the ropa vieja because photos of that look delicious. Our server was Jose and he took good care of us.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Welcoming place with good service and good food, with a good measure of preCastro decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was pretty fast, although it was about only half full during our visit. We ordered the Palomilla and Vaca Frita, both of which were good enough to order again. The accompanying rice was moist and had just a hint of herbiness, which paired nicely with the black bean soup...which was good enough on its own to finish completely. We were too full for coffee or desert, but I'll definitely try their Cuban coffee next time.

Solid Cuban restaurant with classic menu. I ordered the Churrasco steak with chimichurri sauce. It was done perfectly. I also got their Cuban coffee which was awesome. Highly recommend this place for lunch (maybe casual dinner too). The service was adequate and we were happy. P.S. this is the second time I have been here and the bread was amazing!

The food is very bland here. It may be designed to accommodate the local palate. The best way I can describe it is that the flavor here is the "taste of the wealthy retirement community". The food is definitely edible and the service is very friendly. The sweet platanos (maduros) are delicious (as they naturally are). We enjoyed ourselves, but it's unlikely that we will return.

Seemed like every customer that walked in knew and loved her. Only a few small tables inside with additional counter bartop seating and two optional outside patio tables but way too hot today for that experience although does provide a long view of Mizner Park across the street. The decor was strong bohemian themed with hanging plant ladders and even a blue vintage pay phone although no dial tone. The visually appealing space created a relaxed but fun atmosphere. Kylie brewed us a double espresso presented in a mini porcelain cup rather than the boring paper cup. Very strong coffee with a nice nutty aroma. The choices for a pastry was thin today and they were out of the blueberry muffins. The gender neutral bathroom matched the cute decor of the café with navy blue walls and porcelain tan tile floors. Nothing over the top, but clean with some thoughtful details.

She apologized when coming back but it was a little odd, we waited about five mins or so. I told her I was considering the tiramisu latte or the pistachio latte and I was hoping she could help steer me in a direction. I asked what she thought between the two and she clearly found my question odd bc there was a long pause before she said it depends what I'm in the mood for. Which isn't very helpful at all lol. And she said it with a bit of sass, like what a dumb question to ask. I don't think my question was that outlandish, many places have specific favorites or recommendations. After discovering the tiramisu latte relies on the cream top that can only be made using cream and no non-dairy products, I decided against that one. Without the cream top, it's just a vanilla latte she told us. Typically the pistachio latte is made with syrup and a pistachio butter but she said even the pistachio butter is made with condensed milk. We wanted to confirm paying for a pistachio latte would be the same as paying for a latte with syrup added and she said it would, but again she seemed kinda annoyed or impatient by our questions. Not friendly service at all. It came out to $8 for an iced latte ($1 for non-dairy milk) in an albeit cute container but it was just subpar.

The staff were very friendly to us as we walked in and immediately offered us some water and we were only getting drinks that day so we ordered a matcha latte with the whipped coffee on top as well requested almond milk. We saw them hand, whipped both the coffee and also whisk up the Matcha, which was a pleasant surprise. We didn't need additional sweetener but it was overall a really good matcha! We sat there for about 45 minutes enjoying our drinks and never felt rush. It was definitely busy inside but nothing terrible or cramped inside. We snagged a table outside on the patio area which was a good mix of sunlight and shade since they had umbrellas up. We ordered coffees - I got the London fog chai. And then ordered food. I got the original avocado toast. The drink was very good. I was able to do a milk alternative so I chose coconut milk. The avocado toast was loaded. Lots of micro greens and a poached egg that was cooked very well. The avocado was not as heavy as you would think for an avocado toast though. I was catching up with some old friends so it was nice to be able to sit and chat and not feel rushed.

To eat, I got the Caesar salad wrap, which was huge and actually delicious, with a side of buffalo sauce. The guy who helped take my order was nice but not too friendly, didn't really smile or show any emotions, but I think that's just this generation, sadly. The ambiance is cool, cute decor with all the plants and all, but kind of tight space for a stroller, not their fault but I'll know for next time. They also didn't have a changing table in the bathroom, so if you have a baby, I don't suggest bringing them there. Overall it was good but kind of pricey, $30 for an iced coffee and a wrap.
