Scallops, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, carrots/peas.

Small, waterside restaurant. The staff was super friendly. The scallops were delicious!! Being in Digby, we had to get them. I wanted to try the local cider--not realizing it was a lager(?). So it was very beer-y tasting.

Cute place with over the top nautical stuff nailed to most spaces on every wall. There are indoor tables and a bar-type arrangement outside overlooking the water. The menu is gigantic. For us that usually means the kitchen is going to have a hard time perfecting the dishes and I'm afraid that's what we found. The Digby Grilled Scallops in a butter sauce were ok but nothing to write home about. It was accompanied by warm carrot chunks and about 6 peas in a small glass. Odd and not particularly good one way or another. The baked potato was good as was the salad. The Lobster Burger was sort of a lobster roll but had an over abundance of mayonnaise and that was stated by a person who likes mayo.! Wouldn't rush back

Amazing view of all the scallops fishing boats, part of the biggest scallops fleet in Canada. And has pet friendly patio!

Sat outside for lunch with my mom and sisters while we were vacationing in the area. The view overlooking the water was perfect and the food Was amazing! Best scallops we've ever had!

Amazing seafood chowder!!! Best yet on the trip. Scallops in garlic butter were yummy. Nice view overlooking the water and wonder attentive waiter.

We learned to expect excellent sea food in a variety of locations in Nova Scotia, and many also claim to be "the best of" this or that. We loved the food at this place, and will not contribute to the "best Scallop" debate as we enjoyed them in many places and best is a matter of personal preference. Suffice to say the Crow's Nest version lived to the expectation! We will however nominate them to the most welcoming, friendly AND dog friendly we ever encountered! Just seeing us parking in front of the restaurant the attendant/owner/ friendly host opened the door for us, and seeing us engaged with our dog invited us to bring her in, rather than leave her in the car! We sat in the covered outdoor section, and enjoyed a fantastic dinner with no worries about our furry friend left alone in the car. The food we picked consisted of delicious Scallops, exquisite seafood chowder (the one loaded with enormous amount of fish, lobster, and other seafood goodies that is typical of Nova Scotia), and beer on tap. It was a lovely ending to a day of hiking on Digby Neck - well worth a long drive time it took to get there after the hike. Thank you!

So many things are just so right about the Crow's Neat...a charming spot in beautiful downtown Digby, Nova Scotia. Gorgeous outdoor seating is available, a full bar, knowledgeable service staff, a menu complete with seafood specialties and local favorites. We stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of a local, who saw us deciding between a few places for lunch, and the did not disappoint. My first course was their seafood chowder. I am not lying when I tell you there was so much yummy fish that there was barely any room for broth! Digby is known for scallops, so of course we both had seared scallops. Nicely sized gentle puffs of seafood sweetness, with just enough pan searing to bring out every bit of taste. No room after this much for dessert. Maybe we'll pick up something on the ferry back over to New Brunswick!

As we were walking on the Main Street of Digby NS- we saw this menu. Another family walking past us said the best restaurant -so our decision was made for us.... They had a great outdoor patio with a great view of the fishing fleet of Digby. It has been recommended by another gentleman from the public works Dept of Digby to get the pan fried scallops - a Digby specialty since they were harvested here. I ordered a dinner special with the scallops and a side Caesar salad. Both did not disappoint... the salad had chunks of bacon and the dressing was alight flavorful dressing. The scallops OMG-I have never had anything better. I am so glad of the 2 recommendations from the towns people of Digby NS!

Very nice cozy place with a warm atmosphere! The hostess and waitress were awesome. Really friendly. I was seated and served quickly. The bar seating on the outside deck overlooking the harbor is perfect. Beer mugs were chilled and the waitress replaced my mug when I ordered a second beer. Scallops were fresh. Good portion of pan fried. Really good price for the portion! Baked potatoes would be better if they had not been overcooked in the microwave.

Can't really rate this fairly as we just stopped in to try the "famous" Digby scallops so that is all we ordered. The place is lovely and the staff very friendly. Looking at other dishes the chowder looked fantastic, with seafood crawling out the top of the bowl. Unfortunately, we just weren't that impressed with the scallops. They were cooked perfectly but, in our opinion, were not the "best we have ever had" by a long shot.

Lobster rolls & fries to go!

The Crow's Nest was a perfect place to begin our lobster tour of Nova Scotia. We were able to place our order and receive it from a pick up window. Staff indoors were all wearing masks. It was a little chilly that day so instead of eating at the outdoor picnic tables we opted for eating in our car! Lobster rolls were pretty good! We enjoyed the homemade fries as well. Yum!

This was amazing local place with a rich history and amazing food! Eclectic decor that tells a story.

The best fried Callan's I've ever had. Has a good view of the harbor (AKA Harbour) and attentive wait staff.

Carla's Take Out & Seafood Market - Cheeseburger

Carla's Take Out & Seafood Market

You can't go to Digby and not get a feed of scallops, and what better place than an actual seafood…read moremarket? When my wife and I showed up on a Saturday afternoon, I was in luck because the scallops and fish combo was one of the daily specials, clocking in at just $21! My other half, not being a big seafood person, opted for a cheeseburger. Having arrived well after the main lunch crowd, we had our food in quick order and ate indoors, taking a break in their AC. My plate of brown, deep-fried goodness wasn't exactly a poster child for the Canada Food Guide, but it sure was good! The scallops had a light dusting of breading before hitting the fryer, and they were a perfect doneness - not too soft, and not at all rubbery. Being minimally adorned as they were, the sweetness of the scallops took its rightful spot at centre stage. The fish portion of the plate was comprised of three small filets of haddock, with a light breading on the exterior. I do prefer a crisp, airy beer batter, but the quality of the fish stole the show, as it flaked easily in solid chunks, but wasn't mushy or shredding to tiny bits. It was one of those times where the fish was so good that I only used the tartar sauce for my fries. Said fries were the standard, from-frozen fries that I think of as "diner fries", but they were good and crisp on the outside, with fluffy interiors, so they were about as good as they can be. On the upside, the fries acted as a delivery mechanism for one of the best tartar sauces I've ever had! Heavy on the minced pickle chunks, the tartar sauce had a sweetness to it that reminded me of mustard pickles (in the best possible way). When a place does a simple thing like this so well, it really make all the others that just do packets of Kraft look even worse. Although far from being the star of the show, my wife's cheeseburger was a solid, diner-style burger. Carla's was just what I was looking for while in Digby - down home style seafood that's well-executed without pretension.

I tried the apricots chicken rapure- she said it was a French dish, basically mashed potatoes around a few chucks of chicken and then deep fried. I wasn't impressed. My husband got the wings. This was our only option before a 2 1/2 hour drive to Halifax. The service was good. Our server was very nice. But the food was... mediocre. The salad dressing came in little Kraft packets. The meals came with two veggie sides and mashed potatoes. The veggies -- carrots and parsnips -- tasted either canned or boiled or both. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant. I can't remember the last time I went to a restaurant and had food that was lower quality than I make in my own kitchen. The scallops were decent which was the only consolation as we had been looking forward to scallops from Digby since before our trip. The restaurant could also use a refresh. The inside looks like it's 1986. The air conditioning was also messed up and the inside of the restaurant was so cold I had to go get a long sleeved shirt from the car. And I am never cold. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I had to tell my honest opinion. I didn't even take pictures of our food which goes to show how disappointed I was.
