Food service and location were key but great variety on menu. Something for just about everyone

Finally someone in the Valley who can make REAL food and not shut down for the 'winter'! Great year…read moreround hours open Wednesday to Sunday, 11 AM - 8 PM. We have been excited to try this spot since it opened in the fall but it was always super busy but the wait was well worth it. This is a take out so if it's off-season, expect to sit in your car to wait for your food or pre-order ahead of time if you want it ready when you show up. You get a little buzzer to take to your car if you do choose to wait, so it's a great system. In the summer, there is a lot of outdoor seating at picnic benches. The chicken shawarma was massive and delicious! Fresh ingredients and fluffy pita bread. Good bang for your buck. The 'hot' fish was also really good but not actually spicy. The only things I'd suggest the owner to change is to make the sauce less runny to avoid making the fish batter soggy and to switch from shredded to leaf lettuce - it would make less of a mess. We got fries to share but we could have done without. They're nice and crispy and not overly salty. Quite a few fun 'maritime' options on the menu that we will be back to try like lobster sandwich and lobster poutine. It's nice to finally see someone investing in the area with good food. The area really doesn't need another deep fried, overly battered greasy fish and chips place so this is very welcomed. Super accessible right on the highway. Lots of parking. Looking forward to seeing what else the owners do with the place!

I will start this review off by saying that I am only placing this review for the breakfast on a…read moreSaturday morning in Machias Maine. I will tell you this if you order something off the menu for breakfast your portions are so big that it may take two or three people to eat one serving so be prepared to take some home with you as my portion of pancakes and omelette would serve an army . I was talking to one of the locals, and they stated that the owner of this restaurant served large portions because he felt it was his way of giving back to the community and not always worried about budgets and money. The only drawback about eating breakfast here is you can still smell some of the odors from the partying the night before as it had a dance club/nightclub atmosphere on a Friday night. So, if you are looking for a breakfast and you wanna go somewhere different than Helen's across the street, check this place out you won't be disappointed by the variety of their menu for breakfast and the quality of the food that comes out.

Amazing little place, on Main Street but still easy to miss unless you are looking right at it. A…read morefavorite with the locals, and just one meal there will make that obvious. Others have talked about the size of the portions, but even more importantly is the quality of the food. We had the Haddock Burger with Fries, and the Haddock Platter, also with Fries and Slaw. If eating in your car is your thing, take the time to drive across the street into the parking lots behind and across from the Machias River General Store. There you can watch the goings on at the Bad Little Falls Park - depending upon the time of year and season, folks will be casting their nets across the Falls. That spectacle, combined with the terrific food served to you by the skilled staff, will be well worth your visit. Recommended!
