There are very few options for "dog friendly" dinning in the area. The food was good. Portion size was on the small side, but food quality was great. We waited an hour for our food. Server was nice, but not accommodating. We happened to be there at 6:30pm on a warm sunny day. We had the only table that was in the sun. We asked to move to the empty tables in the shade, but they wouldn't let us shift over (there was no one waiting!). We also had to wait 15 minutes for the bill to be brought out. Restaurant was highly recommended. We arrived and ordered or drinks, took close to 30 minutes to get them to our table. I went into look for our waitress who was no where to be seen. Bar did not appear busy at all. We received our appetizer even before drinks. Ravioli was great. We ordered our dinner when we ordered our starter, after two hours with no checkin by waitress at all I went to find her, no luck had to get another waiter to find her. Manager came out to apologize for wait, yet it was full of weak excuses. Our food came, i had ordered the steak which was recommended. The steak was so salty I could barely eat it yet did as after waiting 2 hours for meal I was starving. I left most of it waitress ask if I wanted her to wrap it up I said no the steak was terrible and salty. She left came back with check and stated well I hope you at least enjoyed the music. Disappointed in food. Thought was way overpriced for quality. Mushroom risotto and steak frites just ok. Trout dip overpowered by dill. Couldn't even taste the trout. We had reservations and were seated at a back table facing a porch with junk on it, including an old ice machine. Service was mediocre and very slow. On positive note, fries were delicious and outside ambience at front of restaurant nice, with lights and outside seating area. No domestic Bud Light beer available. I had an out of town guest and decided to take her to The Crown. This made my third time eating there and we were thrilled. Things have improved greatly. I know it is hard to start out getting things perfect and I believe it will take some time to get it right. But our meal and service were wonderful and I plan to return again. BTW I had the Brasstown Beef steak and fries. Cooked to exactly how I asked it to be. My husband and my friend had the trout and they both said it was perfect. We had dinner at The Crown on Saturday, April 18th. As usual, they exceed expectations! From the moment you make a reservation until you leave to head home, it is a pleasant experience. They have added a covered patio, where we began our night. The manager, Wyatt, anticipating we might get cold as our dinner progressed to after sundown, offered to move us to an outside table under cover with a heater. We did take him up on that offer between salads and the presentation of our entree. With the amazing culinary flavors and the ambience, how could there be a better evening! Went to brunch on opening weekend. Enjoyed their take on a classic Eggs Benedict which was a biscuit, collards & pulled pork topped w egg. Quite yummy. Service was a little slow but that is to be expected when opening a new restaurant. Look forward to returning! read more

Real food, really delicious! I want to taste every dish I can. Went in for lunch Friday, September 27. Aesthetics of space are lush, warm, and beautiful. Windows highlight many gorgeous mountain views, feels like I was dining comfortably in the trees. Had to wait a bit to find staff person to get seated as did some others eating as this rad spot creates it's flow. ALL of the staff were attentive and friendly. They understood and worked with a couple of food allergies I have. I really felt taken care of!! Prices were well worth what I received, housemade rice wrap for a consciously raised chicken salad wrap with lemony mayo. (Lemony mayo so good, I asked for more). Came with side, got turkey collards which were cooked to perfection and still hot (even after I was delayed in getting back to my table after finishing a conversation with some I ran into). Gave them a try for dinner then one more for lunch. Not planning on returning. Unfortunately. Dinner a couple of weeks ago was a bland grilled chicken breast with a side that was switched out without the waiter mentioning it. I was talking so much with my friends I didn't think about it until I got home. Nothing special to even discuss about the plate. We wanted to bring our own wine to mark a special occasion however I think a $20 corking fee is absurd so we ordered from their very limited wine list. My friends side dish came out halfway through the meal. Had lunch recently. Ordered the curry of the day. Why do they serve it on a huge plate and push it to the side to make it look under portioned?? Not a good plating design at all. It was rice with a green sauce that was difficult to locate. It was supposed to be a variety of roasted veggies on it. None of which the waiter described where present. It had what seemed like half boiled baby turnips and radishes on it. Very strange and not enjoyable. The biggest problem was what he described as 'roasted chick peas' on top. They did not exist. However my friend who also ordered it was saying there are pieces of hard uncooked rice in this dish. She thought she had broken a tooth! I didn't know what she was talking about until near the end the dish I also found a few tiny rock like brown pieces of something unpleasant we couldn't identify. Were these the roasted chick peas? Terrible. We had a (very small) gluten free coconut cake that was liked by 75% of the table. In summary, the prices are high for the quality of the food and recipes. The plating was ridiculous. The wait staff was fine. The view is good depending where you sit. I hope they make it because the area needs more restaurant choices however they don't have my business in the future. We were so excited to have a new place that we went opening night. The good thing, the food. The Brussels sprouts were a big hit. The Smokey mountain prosciutto while tasty was not prosciutto and definitely not worth the price. They have a "chefs table" that seats 10. We had a reservation for the table. Now for the downside- the service. The girl that waited on us while quite pleasant was clueless. She knew nothing about wine or alcohol drinks and had to go back to bar several times. She was asked for things and forgot to get them. She did not clear plates. Just basic stuff. The kitchen was not able to get 10 meals out and the special green tomato ketchup did not show up till most were finished eating. Last of all was the poor wine list. Hopefully this will be improved in up coming months. All in all what we saw was positive. May want to forget the large party table til they get a few bugs worked out. read more
