The service was amazing. The food was great. We had the the Curry and Eggs off the brunch menu and the palmetto cheese side. The presentation of the food was very well put together on the dishes. The seating area was very clean, as well as the bathroom. Probably one of the cleanest bathrooms I've been to read more

Delicious, creative farm-to-table cuisine in a beautiful mountain setting. Service was attentive and helpful. We had crispy brussels sprouts, wild mushroom risotto, mujadara and the local lettuce salad, all outstanding, plus a marvelous lemon cheesecake. Visiing the goats and chickens was a special treat. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

We "winter" in Hayesville and are always on the lookout for a place where my husband can eat and not worry--he has celiac and must be gluten free. We tried The Crown and were absolutely blown away by how good the food was-and ALL gluten free! There were 8 of us having dinner and each of us raved about our meals. Their meatballs and the sauces--beyond the best. The atmosphere was great as was the staff--very friendly. There's also an outdoor patio area with seating and a firepit with views that overlook beautiful mountains. It was a great evening and we definitely will be back. read more

Horrible service, slow, nothing but excuses after sitting over an hour with 4 different couples arriving, eating, and leaving before we ever received food. read more

Really great food, excellent ambiance, though the service wasn't excellent. Felt like we were intruding on their space. VERY expensive, but it's a nice fine dining experience. read more

Food was absolutely incredible. Amanda was our server, and consistently checked on us to make sure we enjoyed everything. We both got Chef Derek's pasta, and it was phenomenal. Our bartender Jake made me an absolutely amazing drink when I wasn't sure what I wanted. Definitely our new date night spot. Met the owner, Donna, on our way out, and she was the absolute sweetest. And to add to it, we got to enjoy some live music. 10/10. Would highly recommend sitting in Amanda's section! read more

Excellent food, service and views! Farm to table cuisine was spectacular! The drinks were absolutely delectable! Definitely recommend

I don't even know what to do for stars this time. My kid and I went Sunday and had a great experience. The hostess was really friendly, our server was on point and the food was amazing. The focaccia bread in the charcuterie was soft and flavorful. I was able to eat waffles that were worth eating for the first time in a year. It was really exciting to go out and just be able to order from the menu without worry. We were so happy about it that we brought my son-in-law, who is a chef, a few days later. Granted, we're camping in the local area so we were dressed pretty casually. Maybe that was the issue. The vibe was different. The hostess from Sunday was still her friendly self but there was another hostess that seemed bothered by us being there There was live music. It was one man that was phenomenal. It's worth going just to see him. I'm not sure how their music schedule works. Seating was OK. We were told 10 minutes and it took 35. That wasn't a huge deal, we didn't have reservations. Our waitress may have been having an off night. She seemed annoyed at doing a military discount and applied it to only my meal and desert, not my (non-alcoholic) drink or shared appetizers. I appreciate the discount at any time and this isn't really a complaint. I've just never seen a restaurant apply a military discount to only a few items on a shared check. It's an unusual practice. Once again though, I appreciate that it's given at all. I realize that it doesn't have to be. The food was all at least good. This restaurant's specialty is definitely things that would normally contain gluten. The charcuterie had less than on Sunday but at the same price so that was a bit odd. It was still worth it for the bread alone. The ravioli fritti comes with two sauces and it was fantastic. I would order this again. I got the special, which was a duck pasta. I loved it. My kid got the duck. It was ok but tough and a little dry. My son-in-law got the porch chop and it was also ok. There were three deserts and three of us so we got one of each. I thought they were all great. The cheesecake was the least liked of the three but only because it doesn't have the wow factor of the other two. If you're gluten-free, I would recommend the cheesecake or tiramisu just because they're harder to get other places. Overall, this place doesn't taste gluten free and people that have to avoid gluten can do it without worry. The atmosphere seems a bit hit or miss. I would come back on a Sunday. I like that menu better and it seems a little more laid back. You'd probably do best with a reservation also. read more

We went out to dinner this evening at The Crown expecting to find a diamond in the rough (of which, is virtually impossible to find in our area). What we found is NOT a diamond, and is still very rough. Perhaps it's just growing pains, but this place has much to work on. First, the positive..and it's really the only one. It's the location. The restaurant has the most amazing views and great energy! The finishing within was well thought and executed. The male bartender poured some very creative and tasty drinks, and was very knowledgeable of the menu. Now the challenges and turn-offs...first, the long-haired redheaded bartender was constantly running her fingers through her hair whilst serving cocktails and handling food (disgusting, and this must stop immediately!) The owner (or manager) was walking around the restaurant holding some baby, instead of actively engaging her customers and soliciting some very valuable feedback (this is incredibly arrogant and a huge missed opportunity to learn and improve). Simply assuming that you hold the golden nugget of restaurants, without a willingness to learn and improve in this area is a huge mistake! Although the service from the front-of-the-house was good, the kitchen has much to improve. First, my baked potato soup (which was tasty), was served cold. Second, the timing of our dinner service was a complete joke...we sat there for close to an hour before our dinner came out. Once it finally did, my grits were dry and my wife's chicken was sub-par and VERY skimpy. The portion to price ratio is WAY off here! Will we be back? Maybe. And if we do, we'll give the a long few months to work out the kinks. Restaurant owners in our area simply don't understand that they have an opportunity to do something extraordinary...and The Crown CAN be that place, but they have a long way to go. read more

The Crown - The Gazpacho was so beautiful, and even more delicious!!! - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Brasstown, North Carolina

Great! Not what I expected in Brasstown, NC. First, it's in a beautiful place, and most people eat at covered areas outside. The craft cocktails were great, and creative, including several that included CBD. Some could be made with alcohol, or add spirits. The one I had was a version of an Old Fashioned that used tea as a part. The appetizers were excellent, like the vegetarian turnovers. My wife had a large curry appetizer with added protein offered. I had good and large meatballs, with great sauce. The local trout was a specialty. We were too full to try the deserts. If in the area, I will definitely return! read more

Delicious, fresh and HEALTHY food. Amazing ambiance. We had the brussels and ribeye steak - DELICIOUS. The service was good, but expect to take your time to really enjoy the meal. They craft their meals fresh. This is how a restaurant should operate. Most restaurants these days are just warming up food that has already been cooked and filled with GARBAGE to preserve it and make it taste better. read more

We headed straight back to the Crown after stumbling across this spot two years ago. We were rv camping in the area and searching for cocktails and maybe a nice bite. The Crown for the bill with wonderful hospitality across the staff, a choice of both unique (bartender Jake was creative and attentive) and classic drinks. Best this time around was the Casamigos Espresso Martini he created, and gin fizz made on request. I thoroughly enjoyed the Carolina trout with complex flavor profile (cumin, spices, fantastic execution), husband had the local rib eye, also fantastic. They use seasonal ingredients from their own garden on site, local vendors or regional products. Final touch is the amazing hillside view from the bar, Solar patio or side deck look up this gem in Brasstown read more

I can't say enough good things about this spot., but I will try! Setting - we sat outside under a solar paneled pavilion that was decorated with fairy lights and Tibetan Prayer flags. It was like being in an upscale, elegant barn. Said spot was perfectly situated above the folk school and made for beautiful views of both the folk school campus below and the mountains in the distance. Staff - our server was a doll baby. Attentive, sweet, knowledgeable. Nice to chat with and on top of it all. The executive chef came out to talk with us as well. He was interesting, smart, talented and his only real flaw was that he wasn't willing to move to south Florida so that I could eat his cooking all the time. Finally - the food was so good! One dish better than the next. Local, fresh ingredients, complex flavors, platted beautifully. Well priced and ample portions. What was my favorite dish - hard to say. And really I have to get back to try the collards entree and the zucchini soup to know for sure. Stay tuned. Anyhow, The Crown is fine dining at its best, but better actually because it's in Western Carolina and there is no beating that. read more

The BEST food in the area, hands down! My husband just wishes the rice pilaf portion was bigger as it is an entree, almost $20 (no meat) and kind of small portion, but we compensate by ordering appetizer, which are amazing! Especially Brussels sprouts!! read more

What a combo of glorious outdoor mountain setting and soul-satisfying food! Start with a mule cocktail--honeysuckle and lime infused, but not sweet. Move on to the vegetable pakora--a delicious gluten free tempura tangle--and then splurge on the steak frite. Exquisite. Delicious grass fed extremely local ribeye done the French way--pan-seared in butter. I'll be trying this at home, thanks to a lovely chef who came out to chat and gave me detailed instructions! We finished with blueberry cornbread cobbler, swimming in buttermilk creme fraiche. Lord love a duck. We left well satisfied, and we'll be back. A lovely experience start to finish. read more

Awesome awesome awesome. Go to this place. Everything is great. Amazing drinks, amazing service, great ambiance and amazing food.

We knew nothing about this place but were touring the area and decided to give it a try -- the best travel experience in a long time, the best dining experience in a long time. I'm a good cook and come from a family of good cooks and chefs. We've found that most restaurant food these days is not worth the money we pay for it. THE CROWN was a most welcome exception. Food was excellent, presentation was excellent, service was excellent, ambience was appropriate ... We have not a single complaint or suggestion. The bill for the two of us, with a dessert and a bottle of wine (We were there on Wednesday, when wine is half price.) was $85, far less than we would have paid for something much less in quality at any number of other places. We'll definitely be back to this casual, comfortable dining spot with multiple seating options -- dining room, bar, multiple outdoor decks ... (I had the green curry specialty and my companion had the falafel specialty. We shared a deconstructed tiramisu.) read more

Extremely overpriced for tasteless food. 15 dollars for the worlds smallest 3 tacos, that had ZERO flavor and not a single spice. Poutine was missing 2 of the main ingredients, but was still served to us anyway on a to go order. Having to return back to a restaurant to get a refund is always a fun experience! 12 dollars for a small portion of fries, with burnt gravy on them. We left and went to Taco Bell and ordered 3 steak soft tacos as a joke, but they were so much better than the crown. The managers excuse for the high prices are that they source local beef and ingredients from local purveyors. Well that's great if your "chef" was able to cook. But high prices on terrible food is, an insult to your customers. Employees were friendly and the view is nice, but most people go to a restaurant for the food! read more

I can feel the thoughtful preparation and creativity in this restaurant. The food is delicious, high quality, healthy, and sourced locally. There is no other restaurant in the area that compares. read more

My girlfriend and I went to grab a bite after a show at the folk school back at Christmas time. We expected it to be expensive but worth it. It was far from worth it. We ordered two appetizers that we were told would be enough to share, the pea salad and what were called kale fritters. The pea salad consisted of several piles of cold blackeyed peas that were not seasoned much at all. I grew up in the south and these were very disappointing. The kale fritters were basically hushpuppies with very little kale thrown in. They were dry and barely drizzled with a cream sauce. We asked for extra sauce to dip them in. We were very unhappy with what we got for the price and I'll have to hear of some pretty amazing rave reviews from people I know and trust before I return. My two stars is generous. read more

We went two nights in a row and had great entrees- mushrooms and grits, chicken and Brasstown Beef and the yummiest bru spouts. Everything was delicious! The second night Chef Andre brought us a beautiful and delicious smoked veggie plate- it was amazing with 3 different sauces. The wine and bourbon selection was really good- especially for WNC. It's rare to find a restaurant in a small, rural area where care is taken to connect all the dots. A carefully planned, changing menu from an experimental chef who sources much locally. Unique drinks mixed by a trained bartender. Ambiance in a place where materials and craftsmanship matter. Good service. This is a treasure and we're lucky to have them. read more

My husband and I are always looking forward to trying new restaurants. We thought about keeping this one a secret because it's so wonderful that we didnt want it to get so busy we will have to wait in line to get a table on our next visit. We own a barbecue restaurant and know what it takes to make good brisket but their brisket and turnip appetizer is one of the best we've had. I had the chicken dinner and my husband had the NY strip steak and they were cooked to perfection. The chef and the owner visited our table to make sure we were enjoying our visit. We had the most delightful New Years Eve meal. Everything was festive, with costumed servers, live music and a Moulin Rouge Theme. The best part however, was the food and wine experience. What a surprise! We were in town while my husband was doing a workshop at the Folk School. I was just browsing for dinner ideas and came across The Crown. It's just a hop from the Folk School which was perfect. We ordered the Lima bean hummus and kale fritters to start. The hummus comes with homemade pickles that are fantastic along with a few veggies & pita bread. I thought the hummus was pretty good but the pita wasn't that great. The kale fritters were similar to hush puppies and were light and crisp. Good texture but a little bland and could use some heat or spice. We shared the trout & grits for a main and it was really good. The grits had an excellent flavor and the trout skin was crispy & really tasty. We also ordered a side of collared greens that were excellent. They weren't cooked down like most that you order or cook at home but they somehow removed the bitterness from them. They were really good! Cute place, great view, good service. I'm glad we stumbled upon this place. read more

My wife and I went to the Crown on a busy, pre-holiday weekend Thursday. It was packed and service was a bit slow, but was friendly, steady, and attentive. Good menu and cool craft cocktails. The pimento cheese appetizer plate was delicious and a great start. But the entrees...OMG. I got sweet-tea marinated trout. My wife got the meatball plate. "Small explosions of exquisite flavor" is how I described my dinner last night on the drive home. I shared the panzanella with my husband and it was wonderful and plentiful for two people.
