Their food was good. The pizza was very filling. Fried fish was really good. And you have to try the cheese curds

Located 1.6 miles off I-10 In Anahuac sits The Crawfish Place. As soon as your foot steps inside you're greeted with genuine "Hey Yall"s and "Welcome in"s by the staff. The decor is laid back sports bar with elegant rustic designs in the restrooms. Neon signs decorate the walls along with multiple TVs playing different sports from drag racing, water sports, football and more. Very family friendly environment during the day. At night I can tell it's a relaxed feel with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and pool tables. They offer a good variety of beers on tap from domestics to IPAs. When coming to eat make sure you come hungry and ready for a to go box. My burger was almost a full pound cooked to perfection. It was piled high with all "the fixins", and I opted to add bacon and fried egg to mine. They definitely don't skimp on the bacon! I got mine served with hush puppies that had just the right amount of seasoning without being overly spicy. The staff, the atmosphere and food make The Crawfish Shack one of those places you come back to time and time again.

Had the pimpin burger, it wasn't bad at all, I asked for medium and the patty was more well done so that sucked but besides that everything was good and portion was more then enough. The service was great and the place looked clean and sanitary. They do charge a 3% fee for using card which is a little absurd since we're in a day and age where people hardly carry cash. Would've been a 5 star if the burger was cooked right but besides that would come back again.

Exceptional catfish light fluffy perfect. Staff extremely attentive. Had cheese curds for 1st time and loved. From NH and enjoyed TX hospitality. Even the side salad was incredible with boiled egg and the homemade ranch dressing was the best

I don't mind paying $18.00 for a dinner when I get my money's worth but this is the second time and last that they overcharge me for small portions!! I suggest not going here if you want your money's worth

What an excellent dive not far from the 10. From the outside, this would not have been a place I typically would have tried. Seriously, I sat outside and debated going into the older rundown building. I am so glad I did. We had fried crawfish and blackened shrimp that was excellent. We had tons of nicely seasoned appetizers. The fried green beans were great. There were lots of locals and many local beers on draft. While there is no ambiance in the bar/restaurant, check out the bathrooms. Both the women's and men's have different styles and if the restaurant was taken care of as thoughtfully as the restrooms, it would be an upscale experience. If we ever find ourselves driving through again we would definitely stop.

I never would've expected to find food this good in Anahuac, especially for the prices! Huge selection of beers on tap and the staff is really helpful with trying to help you get a beer you'll like. The fried gator is some of the most tender I've ever had and tastes amazing too! Between our table we also had fried shrimp, fried catfish, blackened catfish, boudain balls, fried cheese curds, bacon wrapped jalapenos, and fried crawfish. Everything was delicious If you like it spicy, ask for a side of their Sriracha powder for your fries, onion rings, or anything else you want to give a little kick to.

The BLT and burger were both good. A lot of food. Loved the tots! The menu is curiously large for such an out of the way location.

They serve beer only and the place was full of locals that knew each other. A minus for me is that it is very smoky. It's been years since I went in to a place that serves food wheee smoking was allowed. That may be a plus for some, but not me. The biggest plus was the food. Hubby had fried shrimp and oysters and I had had the wings, which were battered and fried, the jalapeno bites and the shrimp. The first two items were good, traditional bar food but the shrimp was out of this world good. I don't remember what it was called and my picture is after I ate most of them but the shrimp balls on garlic bread were to die for. Soooo good. The service was very friendly, and would go back if it wasn't so smoky.

This was a dark roux gumbo. If you prefer the dark roux, definitely give it a try! My husband ordered the gumbo and half roast beef poboy. Right before we left, the waitress brought us a sample plate of fried crawfish tails that she told us would be on the menu this weekend. They were delicious! My husband and I both enjoyed them. Finally I ordered bread pudding and my husband ordered strawberry shortcake to go. After I got home I tasted the bread pudding and couldn't get enough. The portion was huge and had excellent flavor. I was visiting from out of town at a beach house a family friend kindly let us use and she said we absolutely had to stop in for dinner here one evening. We were a larger group of 8 but they had no problem accommodating us. They don't take reservations but we called earlier in the day and they told us when to come in for dinner service (6 on the dot) and they had an area set up for our group. I can't rave enough about this place. The service was impeccable and every staff we interacted with so, so friendly and welcoming to us. Most of our table went with their many diverse seafood options and said how delicious everything was. I wasn't in a seafood mood and opted instead for the grilled chicken smothered with bell peppers and mushrooms. I was genuinely shocked by how moist and juicy the chicken was and loved the blackened cajun seasoning used on it. The salad that comes with the entree was also a VERY generous size and you could easily get filled up on it if not careful. Everything was delicious, but the surprise star was the mango habanero dipping sauce. 10/10. Hush puppies dipped in that were amazing. Really anything... it paired with the oysters or shrimp, too. The coleslaw was the only miss, but it's complimentary. Mine was a bit frozen still and relatively flavorless. Skip it and you'll be just as happy. The desserts were all amazing. Chocolate cake and key lime pie were HUGE and great. The ... Chocolate torte... I think it was... was excellent. I'm not gluten sensitive, it was just worth trying. Our waitress, Kristina, was patient with the kids and all our questions. Such a great place. If we weren't stuffed to the girls, we'd consider hitting it up for supper before leaving town.
