While staying in the Courtyard Hotel here, I stopped in to this bar one evening on my way back to my room. The young man working there was friendly. They offer a somewhat full bar, with wine, beer and spirits. Prices are OK. If you're staying here, it's nice to have an option for a nightcap!

We went back to Southerleigh for Restaurant Week last weekend. For $30, you got an appetizer,…read morechoice of main course, and a dessert. In my experience, Restaurant Week dishes were normally smaller portions, but not at Southerleigh! We ordered 3 Dinners and had enough for another two meals, and every bite was incredible. Chicken Cracklins: How these were not in a pool of grease and were perfectly crispy and seasoned was impressive but not a surprise, because Southerleigh knows how to fry chicken! Deviled Eggs: They're the devil because I could eat 12 of them and have no regrets. Creamy, nice bit of bacon on top, and absolutely delicious. Fried Pickles (GF): Y'all. I've never had fried pickles like these before. Perfectly crispy and not even a little greasy. Ranch was delicious, special sauce excellent. I could eat those fried pickles every day - my doctor would love it. Half Chicken (GF): Outstanding. I'm forever amazed but how good this GF chicken is. Unreal. 10/10. Chicken Wings: Fried Catfish: If you have a friend whose faces squishes up in disgust when you suggest fried catfish, take them here and get them this fish. Remoulade was perfect. But the crust on that fry and how light it was + how non-greasy or heavy that fried catfish was...there are no words. I could have eaten that catfish all day. What a treat! Top it off with great, friendly service amidst being sat with multiple tables at once, a wonderfully clean restaurant, and just another top notch experience, and I have decided that I'll need to bar myself from Southerleigh for a minute because I can only buy so many new pairs of bigger pants. Go and enjoy this comfort food, GF or not!

Casual eatery- order at counter and pay..food will be delivered to your table. But, what did I encounter upon entering? omg their beautiful pastries, desserts, and Mexican conchas. Picked up a guava pastry for later. Ordered the Mexican Cubano torta without cheese and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I chose the birote bread- sourdough crispness on the outside with soft inside texture. This torta packed a ton o' flavor! Ham, bacon, kielbasa sausage, pickles, and bread slathered in their chipotle mustard and cilantro mayo. Delicious! I chose the house salad, rather than soup. Tummy was more than happy. For dessert, I ate the guava pastry in the evening- buttery pastry with a sweet guava jelly filling. Yum! It is a little on the pricey side, but the lattes and bakery items are really good. They used to have a sugared donut that was my absolute favorite, but unfortunately they no longer carry it. The tortas aren't your typical Mexican torta, but they're still good in their own way. That said, I don't really come here for the main food--I come for the bakery and the café vibe. The salads are also solid if you're looking for something lighter. Service is ok. There's this one guy who usually cleans the tables and he's so friendly. I didn't catch his name but he's on it. I'll Get his name next time im there.

Please note that parking can be a little difficult when is very busy, however if you are coming on an early morning before stores open you should be fine. The restaurant itself is really nice and love the open concept option they have. Unfortunately their espresso machine wasn't working during my visit and they only had a couple coffee/tea options to choose from. I decided to go for their cold brew since I needed a good caffeine kick and also go their cheese danish toasted. The cold brew was perfection and the cheese danish was absolutely delicious as per usual. My only reason for not giving them a full five-stars was the staff. The people working the counter and the drink section were just slacking pretty bad. You could tell the cooks were hustling and the manager was back and forth cleaning and running around, but those other two were clearly bringing down the ship. One clear example was my cold brew order. The person working the drink orders forgot to check so after some time waiting I decided to go and ask her directly. She immediately prep the drink and then told me there were no lids, which I have no issue with if they ran out. However, I then overheard another staff telling her where they are. You would think she would've come back and be like "ma'am, here is a lid apologies for the confusion". Noup, I could hear her just saying "oh! I didn't know". Similar to my case, I overheard more silly and ridiculous issues with orders that could've been fixed if those two staff members would just give a little more care. Regardless, I don't think this location might be the best representation of Bakery Lorraine as brand. I have always been a fan and love their location at The Pearl.

I once called to complain that my to-go order didn't taste the same as it always does. While everything else was tasty, the chicken tasted slightly rubbery. I called the cafe, and when I spoke to Christina she was so receptive and kind to my complaint. She apologized with sincerity, and explained that because of the chicken shortage, they had to purchase their chicken from another brand/company; she assured me that this was only temporary and that I wasn't the first one to comment on this. She wrote down my name, and today when I got to the cafe, she prepared me a fresh gyro bowl with their "better" chicken... it was delicious. The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Thank you Christina!

The only reason for not coming back is the distance from my home and the awful 1604 and 10 traffic during all that construction. Today, I went with my wife and one of her friends who was visiting from Chicago on our way home from birding out at Guadalupe River State Park. I don't remember the first time well enough to comment on any changes. I had a hard time choosing a salad. Every single one of them sound fantastic. I finally went with the Mediterranean. All I can say is that it was a wonderful salad. The awesome young lady who prepared it for me used tongs to mix the Hoo Hah out of it. Not only was itt was super fresh, and but I could taste every one of the many ingredients in every bite. It also came in a HUGE bowl. It was what I call a "man salad". I was actually full when it was finished. The only downside of the meal was actually a very positive situation in my opinion. I thought my Sprite Zero tasted funny. My wife disagreed. Either way, I couldn't drink it. I asked a manager if I could get a new cup and explained the situation. She got a little cup and had one of her guys taste it. He agreed with me. Now, why is this a positive situation? That young man immediately got to work cleaning the nozzle in case there was anything in it that was tainting the soda. I have been in similar situations where they just give me a new cup and go right to work as if they didn't care. In this case, the manager and her worker scored major loyalty points! I am bringing my group back the first chance I get.
