Awesome food. Friendly staff. Longer wait. Parking dicey. I love it here. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but the food makes it worth it. Food is decently priced and rather tasty. We ordered a spinach, mushroom omelet which was large and in charge.. pork belly Benedict which was delectable.. baked Brie which was not what I expected, but it was good.. we also ordered a side of bacon, which was definitely more than just a side!

Yum yum yum Great for breakfast. Quaint, clean and the food is oh so good. We started off with the fruit platter, grapes, blueberries, bananas, raspberries, pineapple, honeydew, orange, all ripe and flavorful. For breakfast my family ordered the "all American" the "stuffed French toast", "Joe's special" and "Monterrey Scramble" all cooked to perfection. The scones were buttery and delish. The service was on point. Cheers

We waited 55 minutes for a party of 6 which was expected on a Sunday morning around 12:30, the owner/manager talked to us briefly before sitting us at our table which was available in a shorter time frame than advertised. He brought out two special plates as appetizers due to the wait and him being able to tell we were a little hungover and in need of food quickly lol. The regular orders and drinks were phenomenal, this was my third time here but first review and the atmosphere and food is always great. Has a very friendly and open feel with great menu.

    Best Oatmeal I've had

We have mix feelings about this place. I had the BEST Oatmeal, but my husband had the worst bfast. Our waiter was great but the food runner was the WORST. LAZZZY. wanted me to use my coffee spoon with my Oatmeal. Was adamant about giving us paper napkins. But the worst was the potatoes which we send back x2. This is the aftermath of 3rd strike. They reheat x2 then burned. Why not give ys New potatoes? The Manager was sympathetic and we received a free meal. We came from the Bay Area to try this place on our Anniversary. Will not be returning. There are many other choices. Not our favorite

I can't say enough good things about this place! We sat on the outdoor patio. Place was pretty busy but we were seated in about five minutes. Our server was awesome. We were visiting San Diego after a conference for work and looking for stuff to do. He was sweet enough to write down recommendations for us. I included a picture of his recommendations in case anyone else is interested! Food was delicious! I ordered the chilaquiles. My dish was amazing, I finished every bite. It was a perfect blend of ingredients cooked to perfection. Two others in my party ordered the smoked salmon hash which they very much enjoyed. The mexican latte and caffe latte were delicious! The mexican latte was pretty decent size as well. I was feeling like I needed a nutrient burst since all I had been eating the past couple days was mexican food. I ordered one of the green juices which had me feeling better right away. Not only did it give me a burst of energy, but it also tasted delicious. I can't remember the name but it had kale, lemon, ginger and a couple other ingredients in it. Needless to say, I definitely will stop by again if I am in the area!

Oh The Cottage! Whats not to love about this place. We tried the pork Benedict and let me tell you, every bite is AMAZING! Really glad we ordered this. My husband and i decided to split this dish because it seemed a bit savory. We also ordered the stuffed French toast and shared that as well. Sharing is caring. Portions are big enough to share here. The service was great as well. Will definitely come back whenever we're in town again.

Most amazing foods! Portion sizes are huge! I ordered a pumpkin nut muffin and a Mexican mocha! Hubby ordered the LaJolla Benedict. We wish we were told about this hidden jewel when we first got here on our mini vacation! Highly recommend! Service was perfect too!

    All American breakfast

Service was fantastic by both the server throughout the meal as well as the GM welcoming us and checking in to see we were happy. The food was very good and the scones to die for!! This will be a consistent breakfast spot when ever I am close to LaJolla!!!

Avocado toast, French toast and eggs!

The home we rented was in Mission Beach (2663 #2 Ocean Front Walk) and it was a very beautiful place that my family and I stayed at for a week. We paid well above $7K to stay there and the management company still wanted to charge you for the Credit Card Fees of 2.75% and extra Cleaning fees. Dont bother to clean the bbq or the house you stay in because they will still charge you anyways. In order to not pay the extra fees on CC or Checks you have to pay cash..who has $7K in cash...Im mean really!! I tried taking a check over to the location of the company address and it was a resident home and Cheryl never called me back to meet me outside so we drove all the home and had to pay by CC. I also do not recommend staying close to the jetty anyways unless you get up before 6am. Those planes start bright and early in South Mission Beach. There is also no AC in this unit. Not that we always need AC by the beach even but it was miserable with lots of flys in the house, mostly because we had to keep doors open to keep the breeze going. The location of our condo was too far of a walk to the beach for kids. We really only went to the beach like twice because it was such a hassle to carry out all the necessities for kids...like ez-ups and chairs and ice chests. I would look at other Management companies if your going to rent anything in Mission or Pacific Beach.

TRAVELERS BEWARE We…read moreread the reviews before booking. They were mixed. I figured we were reasonable adults who could handle a quirky boutique hotel and decided to give it a shot. I was wrong in a way I am still processing. The guy who checked us in runs the cafe downstairs and is genuinely lovely. He is in no way responsible for what follows. Standing in that courtyard I thought okay, cute, this is going to be a thing. We were briefly charmed. We were catastrophically wrong. The room is worn. Scuffed walls, that particular feeling of a place that hasn't been looked after in a while. The bathroom is open to the room and the toilet is flushed by turning on the sink. I stood there absorbing that information for longer than I'd like to admit. Let me tell you something about this building. It is constructed around what felt like a shared utility core with every headboard in every room bolted directly into it. There are no real walls between units. Sound travels through this property like it is looking for someone. Whatever happens in any room happens in every room. This is not a quirk. This is a design failure and it is entirely the hotel's responsibility. I was sleeping soundly. Dead to the world. Then a push from my husband and I'm half awake, groggy, blinking at the ceiling. Then I hear it. A woman. Moaning. I lay there thinking okay, people have sex, we'll get through it. I close my eyes. Then the moaning builds into a full throated, wall shaking scream that I can only describe as the most theatrical climax I have ever been forced to witness as an unwilling audience of two. I think okay. It's over. I start to drift back off. It was not over. It happened again. And again. And again. Five separate climaxes over an hour and a half. None of it believable for a single second. This was not passion. This was a performance and not a particularly convincing one. At the very last one she started singing. With one of them. I have no follow up to that. I simply heard it and now I am telling you. My husband had been awake for twenty minutes before waking me up. He said I wouldn't have believed him if I hadn't heard it myself. He was right. Though at some point it absolutely would have woken me up on its own. When it was finally over we could hear people in other units rustling around in their beds. We were not the only ones. We drifted off around 3am. At sunrise the light poured straight through the windows and jolted us awake. Then the smoke alarm started beeping. Dead battery. That slow rhythmic beep arriving with the morning light like a message from God himself telling us to get the hell out. We grabbed our bags and went to the Marriott.

When we checked into our first room, there were dirty towels on the floor and dirty sheets laying on the chaise chair in the corner. We let the manager know and he apologized and told us it would be a little bit. He put us in a different room. We had trouble with the security code and had to call him again, he was able to fix that as well. They should mention that rooms may have a loft bed with very steep steps and are difficult to climb. They are not accessible for anyone with knee, back or physically handicap issues. In the loft, we could not stand up or sit up because there was only about 3 feet to the ceiling, if that. There could easily be a full sized bed in the downstairs as to avoid the climb. The walls had a lot of marks and scrapes and could definitely use a paint job to make it more presentable for guests. There was also a metal object hanging by a screw out of the wall. We don't know what that was for, but again, it's unbecoming for guests. The bathroom is extremely tight and has a foldable door that gives no privacy, which is very awkward for anyone in the room. The location was a plus because it was so convenient to everywhere we wanted to visit during our stay. Michael, the manager, was also very kind and you can tell he is trying his hardest to make it work and make people happy. There's a cute little cafe on the bottom floor and outdoor lobby. Everything is contactless with check in, checkout etc. I'm not always a fan of that. I like employees around. We liked the area. Found it to be safe any time of day or night walking around.
